  1. Which I may well ask if the forum doesn't already have the answer, thank you!
  2. Thank you so much!! And thanks for the Texan "jolly good" too!
  3. So as promised I'm back with an update, and our I-129F got approved today!! As I said before, we just sent in photocopies (all pages) of both our passports, a certified copy of the petitioner's birth certificate (to cover all bases), and a photocopy of the beneficiary's birth certificate (again to cover all bases). Definitely a weight off our shoulders that it was processed so quickly, and I'm so glad we're onto the next stage now! Thanks for the advice everybody, it was a huge help
  4. Yes it seems bizarre to us too for sure, and exactly for the reasons you said here, like them getting lost. Thank you for replying with this information, and with further clarification on what USCIS would do if they did want the original document. Upon reading more instructions, it does seem like they would specifically state if they wanted any original documents, so we're doing exactly what you and others have said. So specifically we're gonna send: One complete photocopy of the Petitioner's passport (all pages). One complete photocopy of the Beneficiary's passport (all pages). A certified copy of the Petitioner's birth certificate (we originally only sent a photocopy with the I-129F application). A photocopy of the Beneficiary's birth certificate. We'll update this post with the result of the RFE as soon as we know for the sake of future applicants looking this information up . And interesting about the being more stringent with background checks, maybe it's to do with the petitioner (who is a US born citizen) having one parent who is naturalised that got flagged? I guess we'll never know, but interesting for sure.
  5. It was the long form version, so really don't know why it wasn't enough! The beneficiary lives in the country of their birth and citizenship, which is the United Kingdom, yes. Thanks for the extra questions though to try and understand the possible reasons !
  6. Yeah I thought so regarding contacting USCIS, since I've seen others say the same about the support being unhelpful. And I see. Perhaps they did get confused in some way? The petitioner is a US born Citizen (in California specifically) so I wonder why they wouldn't be convinced, if that is the reason. I do wonder if it could be something like, maybe they just want both the birth certificate (which is what we originally sent) and passport, since it only specified passport? (And with the vague wording, apparently both of our passports? Although I'm still not sure of what to make of that.) Thank you for responding yet again though, it's all helpful .
  7. I think it's definitely difficult to read this one carefully, because taking it literally does still feel vague!! But trust me, we're trying to read it as carefully as possible, hence asking for a second opinion here from all of you . (We were already scanning all pages as I was making this post!) But are you suggesting we have photocopies (which are in colour yes) as well as photos of the pages too? Because we could do both absolutely. We, of course, want to get this right so we don't get denied!
  8. Yeah maybe they got confused somehow about the petitioner's birth certificate? And like you say want to check through all pages of the passport? Which is strange because the petitioner was born in California. But yes they're asking for passport so we're planning on putting in all pages (of both of ours) and also both our birth certificates. Just to take what it says as literally as possible. Definitely a little worrying if they mean the actual, physical passports however.
  9. Yes, thank you for this. It really does seem like they're asking for the original for some reason and not a copy, otherwise it would say "a copy of a passport" surely right? It's so confusing to me, and I forgot to put that question specifically in the original post. Thank you for picking up on that by the way! But yeah this is stressful. So far we've taken scans of every page of both our passports and scans of both our birth certificates too (as like an extra thing just in case). Seems like they wanted all pages of the passport all along and not just the birth certificate, so that's interesting, definitely something to think about for others in future! I wonder if we can like contact USCIS in some way (maybe using the live chat or something?) to ask for clarification because we're worried about getting this wrong and getting denied. It's just so strange to me it's vague enough that it doesn't say "please send us your original passport" or "please send us a copy of your passport", because you're right, literally it sounds like it's saying it wants both of our actual, physical passports.
  10. Yeah, that's what we thought, but the wording does feel vague, and I was under the impression that the beneficiary does not have to supply proof of citizenship at this stage, but rather at the embassy interview? Just feels strange to ask for both, but maybe something seemed weird and they just want clarification?
  11. That's all there is, unfortunately, and it has no explanation saying why it wasn't enough. For your convenience, however, here's the first page of the letter, which is the typical first page I've seen from others when they post their RFE: And yes the US Citizen was born in the US.
  12. The exact wording is as follows: "Please submit a passport for proof of citizenship for you and your beneficiary." And we submitted a photocopy (a photocopy of a certified copy) of the petitioner's birth certificate with the I-129F submission.
  13. Hi there everyone! We got our RFE letter in the mail today and it's asking us to "submit a passport for proof of citizenship for you and your beneficiary". Just to make sure we're gonna do everything right, this is just to provide a scan/picture of the information page of the passport, right? I was thinking just because of the wording that we could submit both our passports just be sure, even though it doesn't seem like the beneficiary's is required? Just to make sure we're not gonna get denied. It's a little bit scary, especially since we sent in the petitioner's birth certificate but oh well, these things happen! Thank you in advance for the help !
  14. That's the hope!! Also congrats on your approval :)!!! Thank you, Turquoise, I do hope it will all be okay Yeah we thought so too, it really does seem like these things happen and it depends on who you get on the day!! But I'm sure you'll get lucky and not get an RFE! I hope your approval comes soon!
  15. Yeah it sucks when we thought we'd done everything right!!! (Especially after following many guides and doing research over months, we did not go in blindly.) But we don't know what the reason is yet! I was just checking yesterday and saw our case got the update of status, but we won't receive the RFE letter in the mail for a week or so, I believe. The wait for it is going to be hard but I'll be doing some research in the meantime to hopefully calm my worries!
  16. We too got movement today for an NOA1 of March 28th, but got hit with a Request for Initial Evidence instead of a straight approval (which we thought we'd prepared everything so well, so it's definitely aaah and 😢). Unfortunate for us, but definitely shows movement for fellow 28ths!!!
  17. Thank you, it is great to hear, yes!!
  18. Ah so my mistake was probably the name then. That's good to know for the future, if other forum websites have a similar flagging system, it certainly seems effective! I truly had no idea that username would have been flagged like that, so thank you for telling me about it, my curiosity is now sated!
  19. Ahh so it could have been the timeline or the name? I don't know how quickly I added the timeline but I think it was on the same day as I made the account, yeah. I had no idea that there was a book named that, however, I was just thinking of a random username at the time! I guess that makes sense that why that would seem spammy and it would get banned. Thanks for the info! It's great to know how it could have happened!
  20. Yeah I was banned on here and it only happened after adding the timeline weirdly enough? I think it must have triggered the anti-spam measures somehow, maybe because I edited it right after creating it as I realised I missed a little bit of info?? It was strange for sure. I did PM Captain Ewok because the 'Contact Us' form wasn't working (it said it redirected too many times) so I don't want to like pile on any pressure on this, since I have this account now. But the username was RosesInTheGarden. I'm more curious on why the ban happened than getting it unbanned XD
  21. Yeah I really want to, but my timeline already exists with the banned account and I'm unsure if there's a way I could add this account and remove the other one? Or if that timeline is now sort of tainted and will just get me insta banned if I add this account to it? I'm still super confused as to what happened last time because all I did was make and add my timeline and then my previous account was banned (and I never posted with that account either). So I'm a little worried about losing this account too. But thank you for the reply
  22. Alright! If you're like me, having never posted before, and wanting to edit your signature, it seems like you have to post first before you can edit it! Because as soon as I posted this, I could edit it XD So that solves that mystery! Regardless, it is possible I could have missed this information somewhere, and if so, that's on me, but I'm glad it's working now anyhow!
  23. Hi there! I seem to be unable to edit my signature at all? There's no text box or anything to add text and then save it, just the option to turn off signatures for others, and the restrictions on signatures. I'm clearly doing something wrong but I'm unsure what I'm doing wrong and I'd appreciate any help! 😅 (I want to add a signature first and foremost to put my timeline in like others have for that easy access view (and also because I'm a little hesitant to add an official timeline linked to my account, merely because my last account got banned when I added a timeline to it))
