  1. Thank-you. My next conversation will be at airport customs on Friday where I will ask these questions. I will get there early in case they have any issues with my questions.
  2. I just got off phone with officer at USCIS and they said there is no issue with not getting the stamp other than I have no temporary evidence and that the delay in my receiving the green card was related to a problem with some "biometric" (whatever that is) and that the card had to be remade and was sent back and is listed as being "in production". And she said she could see no problem in front of her that would have me not receive it. I mean "in production" sounds optimistic no?
  3. what document are they asking for? Passport?
  4. I have a Nexus card and have gone back and forth 20+ times in the last 3 years - I hope that buys me something. I am travelling into the US Friday and will ask and say to border officer: "I was told by three different customs officers that I did not need a stamp but read elsewhere that I do and I handed my passport with VISA in it a number of times as I crossed and it was not stamped and might you be willing to stamp it for me"? And see what happens.
  5. Crossing into USA this week. I am going to take a shot and ask the border guard to stamp it. Any suggestion on what is the least confusing way to request that that the guard will understand and perhaps give me a stamp? Can't hurt to ask.
  6. I wish the agent said something was missing or wrong but he did not and he was a serious no nonsense order character drilling me for details. And he said he had no concerns. Thanks for all your feedback. I will follow up.
  7. There is so much expertise in this forum. I hope you are all wrong 🙂 🙂 I have been traveling back and forth between Canada and Utah once a month. The border agent had my entire case file in front of him and said it shows I entered in December 2024, which was within a month of my visa being approved, as I did. He explained that the sole purpose of the stamp is to provide evidence or proof for someone who is working or needs it for other reasons. I am hoping he is correct and will report back here within 90 days to confirm whether my green card has arrived. I am staying optimistic, as this is the third agent I’ve spoken with, and all three assured me I have nothing to worry about.
  8. Latest communication from U.S. Department of Homeland Security "Please be assured your status as a Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) is not affected by the receipt of your PRC. You will have evidence of your LPR status for one year from the date of your admission, as shown by the temporary I-551 stamp Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) placed in your passport when you entered the United States. Even when your temporary evidence of LPR status expires, you do not lose your status as an LPR." I just spoke with a knowledgeable border agent who clarified that not receiving the stamp has no impact on my green card application. The stamp serves only as physical proof of my immigration status, which I currently lack due to an unspecified reason. The agent explained that if I need proof there is a process to obtain it. He assured me that my green card is 100% on its way, just delayed.
  9. I spoke with a Border Protection (CBP) officer at the Salt Lake City deferred inspection site today. The officer informed me that all processes are now electronic, so a passport stamp is not required. They confirmed that if I had my passport, which includes the visa, with me when I entered the U.S. and can provide evidence of my entry—which I did in December—that is sufficient proof of my entry and status. The officer further explained that the significant delays in green card delivery are due to ongoing immigration challenges in the U.S.
  10. the agent I spoke to today seemed annoyed when I asked him three times about getting the temp VISA stamped and endorsed, and he finally said in a very cross voice "YOU HADE THE VISA ON! AND YOU ENTERED THE USA!, THAT IS ENDORSED" so I stopped asking.
  11. but they have an electronic record of me entering the USA in December while VISA was active and that is what the agent told me .....no?
  12. I pray there is no way they would have me go through that paper work hell and expense again because of a small mistake!
  13. damn. will have to wait and see what happens
  14. I trust all the people here have a depth of experience and expertise. I will have to wait and see if the green comes as promised or not and get back to y'all.
  15. Yes. I am in Canada and can come and go to the USA as I please. I am travelling there on Sunday. I called the same office back and the agent said that my kind of VISA does not get stamped and that just by entering with that VISA on my person it is automatically endorsed and he said they never stamp that kind of VISA. I am getting a VISA through marriage and I will report back here in 30 days if my green card comes.
  16. I wish. and no it was never enforced
  17. I travelled into the US many times during that period I just did not know I had to get visa stamped - alas - maybe will get lucky and will follow up here in 30 days if it gets resolved
