  1. You were all correct—customs was a ton of drama at the airport . I was pulled into the back for an interview, starting with one agent, then two, three, and finally four, including the supervisor. They were baffled about why my visa hadn’t been canceled, as I never activated it before its expiration and why it was listed as "in production." The boss asked, "So are you going to reapply for a visa?" Before I could respond, another officer jumped in, "It’s in production and already in the mail." The supervisor walked away, looking confused. The agent informed me that I’m considered a visitor until my green card arrives and advised me not to remain in the US until it does. They emphasized that my case is unprecedented but assured me everything is on track. Clearly I failed to get it activated as everyone said here.
  2. This is what I am going to ask the officer tomorrow at the border, does this sound like it will get the best possible response from the border officer? And if not any suggestion? I want to avoid any drama. Or should I say nothing and just wait 30 days and see if GC comes? "I’ve been approved for a green card, currently in production, but my I-94 shows me as a B1 visitor. Can you please clarify how I’m being admitted, and if it’s as a visitor, why, since I’m no longer a visitor? Also, would stamping my expired temporary visa help?"
  3. And if the green card does arrive in the next 3 weeks, then all is well and nothing else matters?
  4. just looked at it could have been updated - will report back on what customs person says on Friday about how I am being admitted
  5. is there any explanation why status would say my green card is "in production" if this is true?
  6. Given this status update, do I even need to speak to the customs officer on Friday or should I just let sleeping dogs lie?
  7. all my trips into the us are there
  8. the caps were a typo - sorry
  9. WHERE DO I CHECK STATUS OF GC?
  10. Thank-you. My next conversation will be at airport customs on Friday where I will ask these questions. I will get there early in case they have any issues with my questions.
  11. I just got off phone with officer at USCIS and they said there is no issue with not getting the stamp other than I have no temporary evidence and that the delay in my receiving the green card was related to a problem with some "biometric" (whatever that is) and that the card had to be remade and was sent back and is listed as being "in production". And she said she could see no problem in front of her that would have me not receive it. I mean "in production" sounds optimistic no?
  12. what document are they asking for? Passport?
  13. ok will ask that instead
  14. I have a Nexus card and have gone back and forth 20+ times in the last 3 years - I hope that buys me something. I am travelling into the US Friday and will ask and say to border officer: "I was told by three different customs officers that I did not need a stamp but read elsewhere that I do and I handed my passport with VISA in it a number of times as I crossed and it was not stamped and might you be willing to stamp it for me"? And see what happens.
  15. Crossing into USA this week. I am going to take a shot and ask the border guard to stamp it. Any suggestion on what is the least confusing way to request that that the guard will understand and perhaps give me a stamp? Can't hurt to ask.
  16. I wish the agent said something was missing or wrong but he did not and he was a serious no nonsense order character drilling me for details. And he said he had no concerns. Thanks for all your feedback. I will follow up.
  17. There is so much expertise in this forum. I hope you are all wrong 🙂 🙂 I have been traveling back and forth between Canada and Utah once a month. The border agent had my entire case file in front of him and said it shows I entered in December 2024, which was within a month of my visa being approved, as I did. He explained that the sole purpose of the stamp is to provide evidence or proof for someone who is working or needs it for other reasons. I am hoping he is correct and will report back here within 90 days to confirm whether my green card has arrived. I am staying optimistic, as this is the third agent I’ve spoken with, and all three assured me I have nothing to worry about.
