  1. Thanks for the input. He has not physicaly abused her and I understand that this may be a weak course of action trying to adjust on her own. They already sent the AOS in and recieved a request for additional proof and was given a deadline of july 11 to submit them. He will not open a joint account or anything like that. I really don't understand why he would have spent all this time bringing her and the kids over just to give her the finger, but stanger things have happened. I am just attempting to get an idea of her chances of success if he is still unwilling to complete the adjustment process.

  2. Hey all, Since my wife got here we visited her sis-in-law. They live in the boondocks and he is very verbaly abusive and won't let her go anywhere and now as they started her AOS(she is on K-3) he is refusing to provide proof of relationship such as bank acct, ect.She is here with her two kids who both have their 10yr grn cards. Anyway, the husband has kicked her out of the house when they argue about needing the proof for AOS. The kids are staying with us for now. How can the Mother adjust status without the other proofs? Does the ongoing abuse come into play? Thanks for any input.

  3. Hello all, I've been out of touch for awhile since the wife/son just got here to Dallas. Giving them alittle time to adjust. Thanks for all the help. Now we move on to the AOS soon. Thanks again

  4. Hey Kardi,

When you apply to the state board of nursing in what-ever state you will be living in they will do an FBI backgroung check. Since you will not have anything on that report maybe it will be a good idea to submit a Police Clearance from the Phils to them. you don't want to have to go through the trouble of trying to get a clearance from the Phils after you are already here, so bring one or two with you.I dont know that it is required but it is just a thought. You should check with the BON in the state you will live. Post you state and maybe someone else can give more specific info.check out this website for good NCLEX study practice.http://198.146.4.5/nclexrn3500/mainMenu. I use it alot. Good luck

  5. Hey Gloria,

I know what ur talking about. My wife had her interview Feb.25 and left with the pink. She was told they were just waiting on the Police Clearance from HongKong and medical results. I gave them 1 month and when i called, the girl told me they got the PC but they still needed the NSO Cert of Marriage, which my wife turned over to them at the interview. Anyway, I told the wife to send them another one "NOW". I was told to wait another month then call back. I emailed the embassy to inquire about the "where-abouts" of the Marriage Cert and let them know I would be following up on this shortly. They have always been good about replying to my emails so I hope this works out soon.I already have her tickets for May 27. That's 2 months so I hope they get it straight withing the next month. Good luck.

  6. Hello all,

I can confirm Ruby's info. I sent my wife to Immigration in Gensan and she was told the same thing. Our son has both U.S. & Phil passports. Her visa is enroute to Mindanao now. They are leaving the Phils May 28, POE-Dallas. Good luck to all.

  7. Hello,You may get some different answers from people who are really paranoid of xray radiation, however, the radiation output from a modern xray machine is really very little. A couple of xrays wont hurt you. You dont want to get 2 xrays a week for a year, but who would. Dont worry about it unless you are in the first trimester of preg. Take a deep breath and go into your medical and interview with confidence knowing that you are almost through with this whole thing. That is the same advice I gave to my wife just last week when she had her med & interview. Good Luck

  8. Hello all, Virgie passed her interview today. They are holding her visa waiting for the medical results and her pending Police clearance from HongKong. She said the CO kept asking her if she was married before even though she provided CENMAR or wahtever its called from NSO. Anyway, its all done now. Her flight here will be May 25+/-. She wants to saty for her nieces' baptism and I'll be wrapping up this semester. Thanks for all the input. I'm sure she will be online here alot after she arrive while waiting for her AOS. Good Luck to everyone.

  9. ange,

i just used the example 134 here on the VJ site. you can clear each field then type in what you need then print it up.i just followed the lead of the person who posted the form.if you are over the 125% many people dont include the other info i.e. savings, life insurance etc. its up to you. the new 134 does not need to be notarized, just signed by you. the big thing they seem to look at is your tax/earning papers.go with the IRS tax transcripts and your W-2's.

  10. in reference to the credit card thing.some travelers have been asked for a copy of the puchaser's credit card while others have not. I would make a copy of your card and scan it to your computer and email to your asawa. she can then print it up at an internet cafe and have it just in case.remember the interview motto "better to have it and not need it, than need it and be screwed.i'm sure neither of you want any grief at the airport over something so small. just a suggestion. good luck

  11. Hey All,

I am in total shock at what has happened in the last 2wks. VSC sent our petition to NVC Aug 4th'ish and when I called NVC on the 9th to inquire if they recieved it yet I recieved our case # and was told it was already on its way to manila.WHAT THE HELL!!! Today my wife txt me to say she has recieved the case letter from USEM. I was not even expecting this kind of speed. Two wks from VSC to reciept of Embassy letter!!!! Anyway, I called the Appt line and the wife has appt Feb 25 @ 0700. I was planning optimisticaly for maybe a late March date even happily an early April time. So, now I will be scrambling to get the up-to-date docs to the wife before appt. She already has most as I took it all with me in July when I went back for our first anniversary. Any suggestions about getting the docs there? DHL vs. UPS....Thanks

  12. Hello Vj'ers,

    My son was born in the Philippines but he now has his US passport and Cert. of his US cITIZENSHIP. he is here with me in Georgia now. My questions are;;

1.Is he also considered a citizen of the Philippines?

2.Do i have to get him a Philippine passport too or his birth their is enough proof that he is also a Filipino? since it's his native birth place?

3.what should i do to have his dual citizenship?is it a good idea?

thank you very much in advance for any input.

    Hi there,

You should go to Philippine Consulate with your child's Birth Records and whatever else they require and get a Philippine Passport. We will go to the one in Jacksonville. Not sure where the one is in Georgia. Google baby, Google!

Also, you want to do that ASAP, while you are still a Filipino citizen.

That's what we were told by Immigration.

FOR THOSE STILL IN PI. GET YOUR CHILD'S PHILIPPINE PASSPORT IMMEDIATELY. THAT WAY YOU WONT HAVE TO PAY PENALTIES FOR YOUR US CITIZEN CHILD "OVERSTAYING"!

Yes, we paid that as well as Exit Fees and some other mess.

The officials conveniently told us about that AFTER we paid already! They also so said there is no more fee to be paid to get a Passport. I'm not sure how true that is. Probably not at all.

Immigration and emigration IS a business. Especially in PI! But u knew THAT already, lol!

I was under the impression that it was unlawful to have multiple passports. Please correct me if I'm wrong. My son is still in the RP with my wife. He has his CRBA/US passportIf we can get out of paying the "overstay" screw-job that would be great.

  13. Hello All,

I will be making my wifes' appt soon. Our son has CRBA & US passport already. Since they live in Mindanao I was hoping she could just leave him there with family while she is doing all the running around needed for medical/interview. Since he is already a USC I don't see the importance of his presence at the interview. Any input on this would be great. I may be misunderstanding something....it happens  Thanks

  14. Juana,

Just keep it simple.I put all out docs into an envelope, all papers secured with just a couple of large paperclips, coverletter on top. I just stapled individual sets of forms i.e. G-325 with the photos ...ect. The processing center will tear the packet apart anyway. Just stack it in the order noted in the VJ guide and you should be good to go. Good luck

  15. Hello All,

We just got our NOA2 and are preparing for next phase of process. My wife has no proof of immunizations. I know that this is not completly uncommon. Will she just have to "suck it up" and get them at the medical or should I have her get a Titer series, before the medical, to show what immunizations she does not need. How have others delt with this problem at SMLEC? We have maybe 2 months or so before her medical is needed. Thanks for the input.

  16. Belay my last.......Just checked USCIS ...130 is approved also.We will proceed with K-3.I dont want to wait in NVC for IR-1. We will just deal with AOS here. We are getting into alittle time crunch that is worth a few months not working here & a few hundred $ extra for AOS. Nice to see the batch of approvals.
