  1. C. Policy - Employment Authorization by Class of Admission

The following policy applies to employment authorization by class of admission:

    1. Aliens Work Authorized Without Specific DHS Authorization

The following sections list nonimmigrants, by alien class of admission codes, who are authorized to work in the U.S. without specific authorization from DHS. The person’s I-94 will not have the DHS employment authorization stamp and the alien will generally not have an EAD.

I dont know what this means. Can you explain?

  2. Yes I am very excited   ...I was just looking at Boeing 767 planes to see what they look like. It will be my first time out of the country. I am sooooo excited. I am thinking about taking a board and card game with me  ...like Monopoly and UNO.

You are right - time is winding up!:dance::dance:

Are you excited? Is this your first time? I pray that you have a safe and wonderful time.

    Boaz

  3. Hi All I have 2 weeks left to go....   YAY!!! I am taking a direct flight from Atlanta to Lagos. I believe it will take 11hours to get there....from what the website says. But i have heard it would more like an 18 hours flight with the time difference.

  4. :ot: Zee, What type of job did he get?

The one that comes to mind is food: My husband will eat pretty much anything I eat, but I tend to make dishes that are Ghanaian or close to Ghanaian. Its kind of hard to take him out to eat because I know that he will eat what he orders, but I'm not sure if its something that he will consider a meal. For example, I can eat a salad for dinner. He does not consider it dinner unless it is something heavy. A lot of times too things are either too salty or too sweet.

Role in the home: my goodness, it was WWIII in our house until he got a job. Well, it wasn't that bad, but every week we would have a discussion with him stating something along the lines that he does not feel like he is contributing. Biggest mistake "Luckily we do not need you to work so that we can pay the bills " When he got his job, all of a sudden everything was great. The thing is that, it was all about bringing in the money, not about him having something to do. I don't think he would have felt as satisfied going to school or volunteering.

Interactions with people: one of the things I saw right away was how he interacted with other people, especially how he spoke. Every time we went somewhere public and he had to talk to someone, I noticed that he lowered his voice, and then the person would ask himt o repeat himself. I figured that after the first couple of times he would get the point and start speaking up. Nope  So, when we were going to open his bank account before we got out of the car I told him he needed to raise his voice when talking to the teller, like he was talking to me so that she could hear him. I know that he is uncomfortable talking so loudly with people he does not know because in Ghana its a sign of disrespect to talk loudly like that with those you don't know, or in an office setting but I had to push him. One thing that I noticed was that he was relying on me to step in (which I used to do because I just wanted to make it easier and go  ) but I stepped aside and let him handle it by himself. Now he is getting better  but I need to nudge him every now and then.

Besides that, there are several times I have told him "You are in the US now, not Ghana"

  5. Hi There,

It's amazing how fast time has flown by. It's almost time for you to leave already!

Were you able to get any more time off to extend your trip?

I wish you all the best.

No i wasnt able to extend the trip. I was laid off from my other job in July. But God blessed be to find something quickly. I am so blessed to be allow to continue my plans.

    Thanks for asking!

  6. Juss to add my fiance makes at times less then $100.00 a month. What breaks my heart is that he works so hard!!! He only takes one day off but makes that lil. I cried to the point that I had to calm down as that hurts me so bad! But he did not know I cried and I did not say anything to him about it as I don't want to make him feel bad (I could never do that). But he went to college and trained in his skill three years but does not make what He is Worth! :(

the case is much like my too, though i make little more than $100 dollar but before i got there my boss has change my wages 3 times, even he promised that he will increase it before the begining of this year till today, i am still where im. i just know that it God that still keeping till now.

since he has not pay me for months, i have to make arrangement with him that i will be coming every sunday and whatever i get it will be part of my wages, now it, it now owning me about 3 months to be pay.

its a comon thing especially when you are working for one man business, though it also happened with big companies either by government of private. but not all, there some company that arepaying on time.

  7. My SO just received his passport today!!! Yeah...BUT he was told at the immigration office that in addition to the "letter of invitation", that he needs to see an attorney and "insure" me. He told me that this a new requirement??? It sounds a bit fishy to me, but does anyone have the answer?

well i dont know waht the person mean by an attorney and insure, i just resently sent a letter of invitation for my love, they did not request for any attorney clearance or insurance paper, just becareful about that i think you need to ask your man and let him tell you where he got that imformation from , because this could be a red light in your affair.

    good luck
