  1. He had our interview last week and took with us the proof we had, our mistake was not to have a lease agreement on both names, a joint bank account, medical and life insurance, and a list of benefits from my husband´s ( petitioner ) employer.

We will work on those papers, but my husband is not happy about the life insurance thing, he just doesn´t want to do it.

What was ur experience with the AOS? Did you get a RFE? Did u have to do the life insurance thing?-Dont have interview on my AOS, No RFE, We dont have a life insurance.

Furthermore, What happens if one fails to comply with ONE of the requirements? Will I be deported or how long can I stay using my Advance Parol and Work Permit?-If you fail to comply they will ask you more evidence(RFE) They wont deport you easily, AP and Work Permit is good for1 year. if you wont recieve your green card by the time your AP and Work permit expire, they will send you and extension.

We can´t believe it! We´re honest people. We love each other and God Willing will b having a daughter in July. We can´t believe they will force us to leave The USA.

I´ll appreciate your positive comments. Thanx.

    Goodluck!

    God bless you!

If he had interview already, you should bring the FOllowing:

Proof that you and your spouse have been residing together as husband and wife. These documents must show BOTH of your names:

    a. Joint leases

    b. Bank accounts

    c. Utility bills

    d. Insurance policy

    e. Credit cards

    f. Rental receipts

    g. Proof of joint ownership of cars, homes, furniture, etc.

    7. Proof of salary, employment, and year-to-date income for both you and your spouse

    8. Wedding photos and any other photos of you and your spouse together -send as many pictures as you can if you will get RFE

    9. Any additional evidence you wish considered to establish a bonafide marriage -you can ask a friend to write a letter that your marriage is real and you live in the same house from then and now, it have to be notarized

    10. Others, for my experience we dont own our house coz its my in laws house, so we just write a letter that the house its not in our name, coz its my in laws asset, we have it notary.

And about life insurance thing, you dont really need to buy, if you dont want.

  2. OK so ladies and gents i arrived in one piece to the U.S 2 days ago and happily spending the best time with my lovely woman. We getting married tomorrow in the court so we can start our AOS as quick as possible then we ll have a wedding ceremony next month with family. so what i wanna ask about before AOS should we get social security card done? How should we that? do I have to get work permit to start working. I knew that some places let u work with them if u got social security card. Is that true?

You have to had EAD( while waiting for your GC) and SSN to work, thats requirements.

  3. Hi everyone this is my first post here even though I've read and taken a lot of information from this website and really appreciate all the help that it has to offer.

Hopefully this question has not already been asked as I wasn't able to find it by searching but, I know this will happen in the near future and I'm concerned of what your opinions are on it and what are my options?

It hasn't happened yet, but I am soon to be deployed and the town I live in is not a walking friendly town at all, all the nearest grocery stores etc. are miles away. My soon to be wife has never driven before, and does not have a license, even in her home country. When she comes here, I expect to be deployed very soon and may not have enough time to finish the marriage, adjustment of status paperwork, and get her a drivers license in time. If this happens, what am I to do? Most of my friends will deploy with me so I'm not even sure I can get someone to deliver to the house. Maybe make good friends with the neighbors?

Help, I'm thinking out loud, but just wondering if anyone has any ideas or has went through a similar situation and what they did.

Tell her to enroll in driving school in Philippines and she can get an international drivers licensed there, and when she got here she just need to take the exam and driving test and she need to present her international drivers licensed.

  4. Hi. I have a question regarding to K-1 visa time line.. On 02/20/2012 our attorney send in all of our paper work. I juts wan to find out have long it take before interview?? and if there is any way to make this process quicker?? I'm US citizen and my Fiance Ukrainian citizen

    Thanks to all..

Everbody has different timelines but mostly 8-10 months, mine took 309 days from my I-129F NOA1 date.

    Goodluck!

  5. Hello everybody,

My wife and I just sent out the paperwork needed for Adjustment of Status with their respective fees(money orders) etc. And as I was told the next step would be the biometrics and fingerprints appointment after I get the receipts of my 3 forms via Mail then an Interview appointment.

    1. Would anyone give me a link to a site or a thread in this forum with a list of the interview Questionnaire please? I just want an idea on what those questions will be like please.

There's no link, what are the possible interview questionaire, anyway, not everybody got pick to have an interview for AOS the computer randomly pick, but its good to prepare.

    2. For the bona fide process: I have a bag of letters and my wife has a bag as well of Letters we wrote to each other during high school. We kept them for memories.. Can I just take the originals? or should I make copies of every single letter?

Take the originals if she got the interview, you can make some copies too, to make sure if they need it in the file they can have the copies.

    3. For the Bona fide process picture part: If I take my original albums. Will they keep them? My wife is very creative and made scrapbooks of them and they are very nice so shes worried they would want to keep them. Do they? Just to know so I would just print them out again and make a different album.

I took all different kind of pictures when i have my interview for Removal of status,( they dont pick me to interview on my Adjustment of status) i took our wedding albums, vacations albums, scrapbooks, they dont wanna keep pictures, usually they only keep documents, but i sent some pictures also when i file AOS.

    4. I read we need bank statements with both our names in the same account: She added myself on her account like 5 months ago considering the interview could be my way in 5 months that would be 10months worth of statements: Is that enough ?

Yes you need the joint bank account, both your names, you can bring your drivers license coz you got the same address with ofcourse, im sure you got all identification with the address where you live together.

    5. I was told to take Family Letters having them say they know we are married etc.. What is this exactly? Does it mean like having her grandma/mother/father make individuals letters saying like "I approve this marriage, they have been together for this long and etc etc? also this letter could easily be made by me which I'm not, BUT I know an IO wouldn't believe any letter like that, So I would like to make them see this is real. How do I proof to the IO that this family member did indeed write the letter? make a copy of the family member's ID included with the letter maybe??

You can ask some friend that knows you from the time you meet until now, or from the time you got married, to approve that they write that letter by themself not you, they need to put their phone number and address and signed, and it must be notarized.

You can ask your in-laws to write a letter close friend who are present when you got married. for me i did pass 5 notarized letters from the reverend that marry us, my in-laws, mom, dad, sis, and we write one from us we both sign and state their that they can call us anytime they want in our house phone or work, or they can visit us if they need.

    6. Will the first interview be together? or will they separate us? I thought the 2nd was the one where they would ask you things separately. I'm a bit confused.

I'm not sure about AOS interview coz i dont have one, but the Removing of condition we got interviewed together it only took 3 minutes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hope it help you gathering some ideas.

    Goodluck!

  6. Hi, this is my first post and I am a bit panicky.

My fiancee and I spent ages photocopying copies of the evidence we were sending and had it all written out in the cover letter.

However, after a few days of waiting, my fiance has realised I had not included the boarding passes we had photocopied, even though they were mentioned in the cover letter.

What should we do? Simply wait for the RFE (if it comes) or sent it asap? We have sent copies of immigration stamps from the UK and US, the e-tickets from all visits and other trips we made, photos and receipts from trips.

    Thanks for your help!

Don't worry about it, you will be ok, if they need something more than what you send, they will send you an RFE. and you send an e- ticket anyway.

    Goodluck!

  8. Hello..just got a call from fiancee stating she recieved something from Air21 andher family accepted it..she is not at home...could this be her visa? I thought they use 2Go delivery.. Can anyone please advise?

It could be her Visa, just tell them not to open anything.

  9. just got approved for conditional, two year green card, (24hrs ago!) whoop whoop

    what a relief.

here are the questions that were asked, in no particular order. it was more of a conversation than an interrogation, maybe lasted 12mins.

wife is the immigrant, hubby is US citizen

to wife: are you employed? (yes)

do you have any pictures? (yes, already submitted in the file. the officer located them, showed no interest in seeing other pics that were brought along. sent in 5 with original package)

    did u get married via a wedding or city hall? (city hall) do you plan on having a "real" wedding? (no, would rather travel and see parents}

to hubby: have you met her parents? (yes)

why have you not met hubby's (poor relationship with them and don't want to get involved with family squabble. officer was satisfied with this answer, didn't press further)

to hubby directly: why did you marry wife?

to wife directly: what were you attracted to in hubby when you first met him?

to wife, directly from forms already filled out: are you a communist? been involved in prostitution? been arrested? do drugs? (you could see my checked boxes on the sheet, but he had to ask any way)

to wife: have you ever been on medicaid or other social services? (no)

to both: the house you live in is it rented or owned? (rented) how much rent?

to both: have we traveled anywhere (no, hubby's went back to finish classes so have had no time or money to travel)

and then we were sent back out to the waiting room

when the officer came back to get us, like 10mins later, he asked wife if she had renewed her passport at any time. (yes. perplexed)

do you have the old, expired passport? (no. what?!) officer: well, you don't have any stamps in your passport, i can't find anything on you...

wife reminded him Canadians don't get stamps, we just get scanned. officer replied with a "oh ya ya, right! ok, well congratulations, you're a permanent resident now." haha and the officer presents the passport with the stamp in it...so he had us already approved but still wanted to clarify the passport issue. gah.

hope that helps anyone who is going in to their interview soon.

be over-prepared, but you all should do all right if nothing unusual is with your case, such as asylum, deportation etc.

    GOOD LUCK.

    Congratulations!

  10. I got the word around 5:30 AM this morning that we were approved for our K1 Visa!!! We were so happy that I cried and he nearly did! Cannot wait until he is here! We wish everyone else good luck and speedy processing with theirs! Thanks to all who have helped us out with info. Especially NichNick. You were indispensable!!! (hope I spelled that correctly!)

I hope those of you who hang out on here often take it easy on the next batch of new ones. Remember how hard it was when you went through the process. Some of you all are pretty rough on here. But some of you were just a great help and comfort!!! Any of you UK folks who need to know timelines, etc. feel free to message me to get our info but I don't plan on hanging around here anymore. Thanks everyone!!! :)

    Congrats! im happy for you!

Anyways don't stop hanging around here, coz after you got your interview, medical, and after you got your visa, im sure there are more questions, after you get to your destination, or after you got married, coz you need to file the following:

AOS- Adjustment of status you have to file that once your already there, after you got married, but dont worry about that now.

    Removing of Conditions

    Citizenship but thats optional.

    Goodluck for your Journey!

  11. Dear Friends,

Thank you for your help so far.

I asked a friend of ours to write Affidavit for me and my hisband.I guess I need 3 of those.

Also,do you think it is a good idea to include a letter-of my husbands' mom(my step=mom) proving that there is on-going real marriage.

Should i send some pictures of us and a story of how we met and how we got married.

    Appreciate your help!

    :D

That's what i need for mine also, for RFE for I-751, so We ask our friend who knows us and was there on our wedding, we ask from the Reverend who married us, we ask 1 from my in-laws, and one from sis in-law.

We send letter from me and my husband also that we are still happily married still living in the same house and they can visit us anytime they want, or call our house phone and cellphone anytime they want if they got a chance even we know they are busy, and they can call us in our work anytime, and they can call our friends.

We send some pictures with us together, some pictures with my parents, and with my husband, and pictures with my in laws, and some itenerary when we took our vacation.

  12. Hi visa journey friend, I have a question regarding on removing conditions did you filed this by your own guys? Coz i dont really want to hire again a lawyer its really expensive though.I want to make it sure i prepare right and hope no mistakes .. Do i really need to have bona fide evidence on our marriage for 2 years? It says on here that i read is its not actually required .As long u have some both names proof of evidence and its up to you if you want more proof. Does anyone could help me? Thanks and advance..

File mine by my own, just follow the step by step guide, yes you need the bonafide evidence on your marriage,

    Follow this guide (http://www.visajourney.com/content/751guide)

  13. Hi guys and gals,

My husband's temporary green card will expire on 7/10/12. I was wondering when do we send Removal of status? What else do i need to send with it??

    Thanks a lot,

    Tashi

You can send the the I-751 removal of status, within the 90 days just preceding the expiration date on his permanent residence card.

go to this site and you will find all the answer of your question (http://www.visajourn...ontent/751guide)

    Goodluck!

  14. Hi,

My wife received her combo card for EAD and AP just a few weeks ago. I was wondering how long it usually takes to get her green card? Also will there be an interview for it?

It usually takes a month or 2, if her case was transfer to CSC there's no interview, But everyone have different cases, just wait in 1 - 2 months. Im sure she will receive her Welcome letter and GC soon.

    Goodluck

  15. Congrats!

wow, after a long 14 hrs of work, i came home and checked on my case status. i still cannot believe i got approved for NOA2. I thought my case was completely dead after i got a RFE that request to prove i met my fiance in person within the 2 years prior to apply for the petition. i submitted my application late a month and half of the 2 years requirement. I have not see my fiance in person since i applied. this is the best day ever. wow.

keep your hope up everyone. They do listen to reason if you have a valid point i guess. wow.

    Congrats!

  16. What Vaccination is a "MUST" requirement for K1-Visa for my fiancee and her daughter - I know they will try to sell you everything. I rather have non-required vaccinations done in the United States.

Vaccination is required i forgot what are those, But i remember i have 4 vaccinations In Saint luke Medical center Manila ,6 days before my interview, they will forward the result of medical to embassy, Manila embassy need the result of their medical before they can do the interview.

  17. Hi although it's not same questions that are ask, mine was name of petitioner, date of marriage, and what they only told me was 90 days stay only expiration prior to Marriage, and they issued the194 as permit to work for 90 days. Good Luck!

I believe I-94 is not your permit to work for 90 days, or maybe they change it? i believe you can only work If you have EAD,. Generally, I-94 are proof of ... Aliens who are admitted on a temporary basis under the K-1 category for fiances ,refers to Duration of Status which means that you are permitted to remain.
