on facebook and discord ive seen 5-6 different people from Nigeria (a partially banned country) say that they were verbally approved at their interviews and passport collected, and these were interviews all after Jan 1 2026. Some even said their status online for the Visa says "Issued". So it seems promising and like the travel ban for partially restricted countries isnt impacting k1 🙏🏽🤞🏽

wow i didnt know that they ever requested proof of relationship / intent to marry based on whats customary to the culture outside of the US. But its amazing that you have exactly what they want, I think that gives you great odds at appeasing them and getting approved. omg reading this now has me a bit spooked! my timeline is similar to yours! lol We met on a dating app in January, but didnt meet in person til March and submitted our petition in MAY! 😂 so they might hit us with the same kind of RFE since it did progress quickly. But I did include text conversations that I had with my partner were we discussed our ages both being mid 30s, and how we want to get married / start a family soon... so hopefully that context helps them understand how intentional and serious we were dating and why its progressing the way it is...only time will tell though. But yeah I think submitting further evidence and proof your relationship has continued will be so helpful! Also with the engagement ceremony be sure to highlight that it is ONLY an engagement ceremony and not a marriage celebration. Ive read stories where ppl just submitted pictures showing their engagement ceremonies / photos, without providing context or a description and USCIS thinks they are looking at wedding photos and ends up denying the petition. So be cautious but goodluck! Im glad you found my info/examples helpful. I cant wait to hear how things progress with you. I'll definitely keep updating what happens with my petition too, especially because Nigeria is now on the travel ban list as being partially banned 😫 and we still dont know what exactly that means for our petition *sigh*

Hey Jen! So I'm no expert, but I did submit "evidence of financial support" with my original petition as further proof of relationship - only because my beneficiary is from Nigeria and I wanted to frontload our application with as much evidence as possible to show that its a real and bonafide relationship, anyway what I submitted was proof of financial transactions. So various times I sent him money or purchased gifts for him / us. I included bank statements that showed the money transfers or items purchased, as well as text conversations where maybe he thanked me for sending money or acknowledging receiving it and I included descriptions with the month + year and explanation for what they were looking at. example: Date: January 20206 Description: My beneficiary and I decided to start marriage counseling together. So I purchased the books we would read for our marriage counseling course. Then I'd include an image of my bank statement showing the purchase, the receipt from amazon also showing the book i bought, and maybe a text conversation where he and I are talking about the book, or where hes saying hes excited to start reading it together etc etc. I still havent gotten NOA2 yet, im waiting... so I cant say that what I did was "correct" or the way to do it. But its what I did if you need some ideas. But honestly, if I got a RFE that asked for proof of financial support, Id cover all my bases and send proof of times I sent money or gifts, as well as the I-134 form, and my tax paperwork to prove I also meet the threshold. I just wouldnt take the chance to make any mistakes in case that is what they are asking for. I hope this helps! Yes I've heard similarly. From what Ive read they can ask for further evidence, meaning they want you to present a stronger case because what you initially submitted was not strong enough evidence on its own. Or something was missing from your original submission and you're asked to remedy that mistake, and that could be anything from a missing signature, forgetting to check a box, or not having submitted letters of intent to marry or proof of meeting within 2 years of filing..etc etc I hope its something simple for you! Ive read via i-129f groups on facebook and discord that more petitioners have been receiving request for biometrics this year. But nope i havent seen anyone get any for May yet.

nothing yet for me! They started on April a few days ago. So they should start on May in the next 3-4 weeks! (assuming the pace stays the same) !! super exciting tho

I just got mine too It says on the letter that my NOA 1 date is May 27th 🎉

Mine was tooo!!! I mailed it off on the 16th but it got held up in customs and wasn’t delivered til the 22nd! so we’re twinning with the timeline lol My debit card was just charged today 😆 I haven’t gotten my NOA 1 yet, but I read that most ppl get it the day after they are charged so 🤞🏽
