  1. hi guys, I posted it here in Mexican forum hoping that you can give me an advice for my mexican friend who came here in US illegally and been here for like ten years here in Arizona. Now he has a partner who is also a mexican but a USC now. He's planning to marry her since they have a child already but the guy doesn't know where to start to process her papers. Can he marry her and apply for AOS? I hope anybody here could help me for my friend.

  2. I had my interview today at Phoenix, Az and I got approved fro a 2 year green card. The IO was super nice and looks like Korean. It took us 15 minutes only and no grilling question. Just very basic. He asked my husband if how many times he went to my country, if it's my first marriage, if I have arrested here in US, is it my first time to come here in US, asked if we have doca that both had our names, so I gave him our joint bank account, health care insurance that he got from his work and that's it it seems that he was impressed of it :D and he said that my case is approved. He took the I-94 and my EAD too and gave us a paper which he printed from his computer saying "Congratulations!"

So for now, I could relax for 21 months from USCIS and hopefully could remove the conditions 90 days prior to the expiration of my green card. That's what the IO told us. For those who are waiting, hang in there I know soon yours will be approved too with God's help. Thank you visa journey and God Bless us all.

  3. I'm back from interview at Phoenix, Az and thank to our Almighty God everything turned out good, I'm approved for two year green card. The IO is very nice. I guess if i'm not mistaken he's a korean. No grilling question at all he just asked us like if we have any joint account and of course I gave him our joint bank account and our health insurance that my hubby had from his job. Thank you so much visa journey for all the support and well wishers. I love you guys. I'm just so happy today and thankful to God :dance::dance:

  4. Our appointment was at 9:00 at the San Jose office, got there about 30 mins early. For the most part everyone was very friendly..went up to the 2nd floor and dropped our appointment letter in the wooden box and sat down to wait. There were about 14 other couples (some with lawyers) waiting, we were called at 9:15. Our OI was Mr. Saelee, he directed us to his office and the interview began. I am pregnant and he asked when the baby was due....I told him a few weeks. He said not to worry he would try and get us out as quick as possible.

He asked some questions basically read off the G-325. He asked us when we were married at least 4 times. He also asked us where we worked numerous times.

I had brought way too much documentation but he commented on how organized I was

asked for some pics, took a few along with our wedding invitation and told

    us WE WERE APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He gave us a form that states:

I-485 Adjustment of Status Interview Results

On 5/13/2009 you were interviewed by USCIS officers

Congratulations, your adjustment of Status has been approved

    :dance::dance::dance::dance:

he explained the removal of conditions I-751 that should be filed in 2 years.

I think we were both smiling ear to ear..so happy

He asked me if he could call if he needed any other docs or information I said no problem

He congratulated us and we left...total about 35 mins.

    WOOOO HOOOOOOO!!!! :dance::dance::dance:

Congratulations! I'm happy for you. We'll be leaving an hour from now to our interview at central Phoenix, Az. Once again, a big congratulations :dance::dance: dancing for your success!!!

  5. Hello, so me any my new wife are filling out the papers for the AOS package as i have arrived on a K-1 visa. I have a few questions on some of the forms and any kind of help would be much appreciated. If any of you out there who have already finished this process to complete the AOS papers on a K-1 visa.

    So :

    Form I-485 Part 1 questions :

1, Just under the family name box there is a box that say 'Address - C/O' , i was wondering what information is needed to be put in this box? it cant be my address where i am now because that is put in the box below, hmmmmm?

2, I - 94 # ? Is this the 11 digit number on the white I-94 card inside my UK passport?

    I-485 Part 3 questions :

1, Nonimmigrant Visa Number? where is this located or how can i obtain this?

    I-765 question :

1, I am a little confused about Question 16 as i cannot locate the instructions and i am confused as to what code i should enter?

2, Also some advice on question 17 would be very helpful too

So i have been looking at the form I-131, the travel authorization paper. I am wondering, is this only to be filled out if you know that you are travelling abroad? I would only want/need to travel home in the near future if there was a family emergency for example, so if i want to be on the safe side should i file this paper too?

Sorry about the random questions, but we need to get this sent out asap, any advice on these papers and answers would go down great. Again i say i am here on a K-1 Visa,

    Thanks so much in advance

    Stuart

hi 'skparker' hope this could help you

Q #1 for I-485:just it leave it blank if you only living in the same address. Proceed to the next box.

#2 yes, that's right. It's the 11 digit and it's also called departure number.

#3 Nonimmigrant visa number can be found in your K-1 visa. It's an 8 digit and mine is highlighted and at the right side part of my visa.

    I-765 Questions

Q# 16 if you came here on K-1 visa just fill it this way © (9)

17 © (3) © are those who are on F-1 student visa seeking optional practical training.

If I were you, better apply for I-131 called advanced parole as it's free when applying I-485. You can use that just in case of emergency that you need to go home before your green card will be approved. God Bless on your AOS journey.

FEBRUARY 2009 AOS FILERS PROGRESSIVE REPORT

Hi "Cino" please update me, i received a notice today for "initial interview" this May 13' 09. I'm kinda worried though why it's an initial interview ;) It seems that there will be another interview?

  9. I experienced same problem. I tried to call five civil surgeon near us. They're telling me that I need a full medical plus the vaccination I need and the price varies from $500 to $1000. Last person I talked, transcribing the vaccination will costs $150. I contacted Dr. Arnold and I send it yesterday. Now, my husband is worried sending the documents half way. Question: When will I received the sealed envelop? Is there a possibility that they won't send it back?

hi, you really don't need another medical exam. I had my I-693 transcribed by Dr. Arnold though he didn't transcribed my tb test & received the sealed envelop in just 3 days. I had my tb test done and sent t along with my AOS. So far I didn't received any RFE.

  11. hi, i'm planning to apply for a job that's related to my field as soon as i can get my EAD. BTW, i finished a two-year midwifery course in the Philippines and had a previous experience in a hospital in middle east. do you think a two-year foreign course has any equivalent here in US? I'm planning to use WES but it's just a two-year course and not a BS degree :( anybody here who had credential evalution before?

guys, I received priority mail envelope that contain my I-693 form frm Dr. Arnold office in texas today, can i open it?

You can open the priority envelope - inside will be your copy of the I-693a and a sealed envelope with the one for USCIS.

The I-693a is no longer used and is invalid. The I-693 is what's used now!

    thanks a lot.

    No problem!

Some people are leary of using Dr. Arnold.

I helped a friend and had him use her.

He just got his GC recently with no problems.

    Didyou pay $30?

We actually stopped by her office on feb 20 and paid 30 dollars cash.

Why are some people leary of using her?

hi 'ikarus' just wanna ask what year of income tax you sent in your I-864 affidavit of support since you've applied ur AOS last Jan. I wonder if i could still use my husbands income tax return in filing AOS

WOW ! Just saw Zamboanga! Del sur? Don't see many people from there. My wife was born in Kabasalan in Zamboanga del Sur. I've neverbeen there. What's it like?

She owns 20 hectares there but is afraid to go there because of rebels.

hi 'haole', yeah i paid $30 and was delivered in my mailbox after a week.

Kabasalan is just an hour away from my little town Buug. BTW, rebels is everywhere in our country sad but it's true coz of our corrupt gov't. When i first brought my husband there to meet my family, my prayers was endless even when we were in bus. Gosh, i was pretty sca red for his life not mine coz i;m used to travel my own place. I was afraid if he'll be kidnap for ransom but praise God our entire trip was smooth. I learned a lesson from that time that once you pray, believe that it will be given without a doubt. Pls. give my regards to your wife. God Bless.
