  1. Our visa has been issued! It took roughly about one year from mailing our packet in to issuing the visa. My fiancée arrives in America next week! 🇺🇸 Best of luck to all. I’ll be here cheering for everyone on the sideline. 👏
  2. Wow I can’t even imagine being apart for that long… In my situation, I managed to stay with my partner in Japan for 9 months of this process. Once I left Japan we took turns visiting each other. Next thing you know, her visa interview arrived! Just remember to stay strong! Double check and triple check all your documents! Everything will be fine!
  3. My fiancée took her interview on June 25th. The entire process took roughly 30 minutes from start to finish! Very basic questions were asked. 1. How did you both meet? 2. What does your fiance do for work? 3. Wedding plans 4. Where will you both live They collected the police certificate, my tax transcript, bank deposit form, DS-160 confirmation page, and the financial support documents. We were approved on spot and her visa should arrive within a week! If you have an interview soon, don’t stress! If your documents are solid, you have nothing to worry about.
  4. Here is our official timeline for reference: 1. Petition received on July 5th, 2024 2. Petition approved March 25, 2025 3. Sent to DOS May 6th 2025 4. Case at NVC May 16th 5. Case number received May 23rd 2025 6. Case “In transit” May 30th 7. Case “Ready” June 4th 8. Interview scheduled for June 24th USCIS processing = 8-9 months Sent to DOS = 2-3 months Case reaching “Ready” = 3-4 weeks Overall this process is pushing 12-14 months based on our submission timeframe. Please reach out for any questions!
  5. Our case has finally moved to “in transit” it took around 9 days. I received my K1-FTP letter the same day our case status changed. I’m not sure how long it will take to reach “ready” status. I’ll continue sharing our wait times / timeline. Best of luck to all! ❤️
  6. I sent a public inquiry and got our case number last Friday. We scheduled the medical exam and finished the DS-120 but have not submitted since we can’t just yet. Our case status is “AT NVC”. Im assuming we will get the K1-FTP letter as the next step which should show our case as “In Transit”. We aren’t sure if we should open a public inquiry if 1-2 weeks go by without receiving the K1-FTP letter. We aren’t sure the timeline here. Has anyone else reached this stage and how long should we expect to wait? Lastly, I heard we cannot submit the DS-120 until our case is at the “Ready” stage. Can anyone help?
  7. Congrats! I would send them a public inquiry in 2 weeks to get your case number. This will allow you to log into CEAC. You can also schedule your medical checkup with your number. Your case will then be forwarded to the consulate. The NVC will send you an email once that happens. You can also check the status one you gain access to CEAC website.
  8. We also waited 6-7 weeks before our case was finally transferred to the NVC. Once the case is sent to the NVC you’ll need to wait another 2 weeks to receive your case number. After the second week you can send them a public inquiry to speed up the process a bit. Once you get the case number you’ll need to wait another 2 weeks for your case to be “in transit” to the embassy. The final step is scheduling the interview which can be 4-5 weeks. So all in you’re likely looking at another 2.5 months before the process is complete. Good luck!
  9. We finally got our case number!! Once our case was officially sent to the NVC. It took 2 weeks.. Make sure to send an inquiry two week after the submission date!
  10. We were officially approved on March 24th and our case was transferred on May 6th. So now we’re just waiting on the case number.. Any day now hopefully..
  11. Thanks for the heads up! So after 6 weeks our case was FINALLY. Transferred to the DOS.. So now we have to wait for the case to arrive plus processing time to get our case number. I’m guessing probably another 3-4 weeks until we can move forward..
  12. I was reading online that it isn’t good to send in public inquiries so often. The system could flag our case. Idk how true that is.. The last communication basically said after 60 days to reach out. I guess that’s their threshold to make them take action.. Have you sent in a public inquiry yet?
  13. That’s right! We heard wait times were getting longer. So I’m sure this is just the new normal.
  14. NVC Update: it’s been 6 weeks and no email! We sent an inquiry 20 days ago. It says we should wait at least 60 days to try again. In theory we should hear back this week based on trackmyvisa’s app. Is anyone else still waiting after 4-6 weeks?
  15. We have been waiting 6 weeks now with no response
  16. We were approved for our NO2 on March 25. Still haven’t received our case number from the NVC. Is anyone still waiting for their case number? If you’ve received yours, how long did it take? We’ve been waiting for about 4 weeks now
  17. We have been approved! Got the notification 2 days ago. We are July 5th filing date. Everyone’s approval is coming soon! Don’t give up hope..
  18. Hey skipped cases fam! it appears the processing time has decreased from 8.5 to 8 months. While it probably doesn’t matter for our cohort.. At least we know the process is improving overall. Hang in there fam! Everything will be okay in the end…
  19. My fiancée and I filled on July 10th.. At the tail end of the skipped range.. Make sure to send in an inquiry once you’ve gone past your average wait time! It probably won’t do anything but it’s something. I heard next step is contacting a level 2 officer or emailing your local senator office. At this point, we should all spam them with requests to get their attention! Stay positive fam! We will all get through this together.
  20. My blog post above is regarding the K1 visas skipped between June 28th - July 10th
  21. Hey guys! Is anyone part of the 1600 skipped applicants from June - July? So from my research, it’s not the first time USCIS has skipped cases. I’ve heard that it was a “technical” issue this time around. So given the fact the that they haven’t worked on this case range. It would mean the time to hear back is probably 3-6 months.. The California processing center has an average 8.5 wait time. So once that time passes make sure to send the USCIS an inquiry. It probably won’t do much but it’s something.. Here are additional steps you can take once you’ve sent in an inquiry: Additional Steps: 1. Contact USCIS Call 1-800-375-5283, and request a Tier 2 officer. Submit an Outside Normal Processing Time Inquiry if your case is delayed. 2. Expedite Your Case (If Eligible) USCIS allows expedite requests for: - Severe financial loss - Humanitarian reasons - USCIS errors -Call USCIS or use Ask Emma to submit an inquiry request. 3. Request Congressional Help Your Congressional Representative can escalate delayed cases. Find yours: House | Senate 4. File a DHS Ombudsman ComplaintIf USCIS remains unresponsive, submit a Case Assistance Request (response within ~45 days). 6. Consult an Immigration Attorney If all else fails, a lawyer can file a Mandamus lawsuit to force action. If we all come together as a community and send inquiries and escalate. Hopefully we can push them to take action! Let’s do this! Stay strong!
