Updates:
NVC responded our inquiry and we received our NVC case number today! After checking, our case is still at NVC.
They also gave us an Invoice ID number, but I’m not sure what to do with it or what we are given it for.

You should. But they are also responding to inquiry slow. Someone whose case got sent to department of state on June 16 also received the welcome letter last Tuesday… I was expecting to receive mine last week too but nothing yet.

Just posting here because I have a heavy heart today. We are now still waiting for our NOA2 (july 3rd filer) and it's been exactly 12 months and 1 week. I try not to get too frustrated by this situation as my tracking shows roughly 52 people waiting from June 28th and I feel utterly sorry for them. It's so hard watching people from November get approved whilst we move nowhere. I know there's no fix/answer/solution but just needed to vent somewhere. Truly happy to see more and more people from this thread get further and further along and it really does give me some hope. Any day now I guess..... 🤷🏾♀️😞🤞

My fiancée took her interview on June 25th. The entire process took roughly 30 minutes from start to finish! Very basic questions were asked.
1. How did you both meet?
2. What does your fiance do for work?
3. Wedding plans
4. Where will you both live
They collected the police certificate, my tax transcript, bank deposit form, DS-160 confirmation page, and the financial support documents.
We were approved on spot and her visa should arrive within a week!
If you have an interview soon, don’t stress! If your documents are solid, you have nothing to worry about.

Our visa has been issued! It took roughly about one year from mailing our packet in to issuing the visa. My fiancée arrives in America next week! 🇺🇸
Best of luck to all. I’ll be here cheering for everyone on the sideline. 👏

The Consulate for my fiancé is Morocco and for some reason I thought that I had to pay the 1. Immigrant Visa Application Processing Fee and the 2. the Affidavit of Support Fee.
But now that I look at it the K1-Visa is not an Immigrant Visa, it's a Non-Immigrant Visa.
Our Case is already on "READY" but never received the K1-FTP Letter, so the case is now at the Embassy, but I did inquiry through the NVC public inquiry about the K1-FTP letter so let's hope they send me or my fiancé something through email.
Thank you, little by little I am understanding but it definitely is very overwhelming and confusing, so glad for this forum.!

This is the NOA2 which you will attach to your inquiry - Don't worry about the expiration date - The Consular Officer will extend the validity of the notice at the time of the interview - If it's going to expire before your interview, I suggest you and your fiance write updated letters of intent to marry to bring with you to the interview. Otherwise there is nothing you need to do about that expiration date.

It took us 3 inquiries to get the case number. You can send them about 10 days between each inquiry

@Turquoise Sorry for the delayed response... busy weekend. Once the status of your I-129F goes from "Approved" to "Case Has been Sent to The Department of State" you can make an inquiry with the NVC to see if they have input your petition and created a Department of State case number. With this case number you can track the status of your visa application and where it is (At NVC, In Transit, Ready at the Embassy, Approved, Issued, etc.). I would give it about 3-4 weeks after the status changes before you make an inquiry. You will ask if you have a case number yet, attach a scan of the I-129F approval notice to the inquiry and in the first inquiry I would have them verify they they have the correct email addresses for petitioner an beneficiary. Below is an edited version of the first inquiry Jaycel and I made to them:
Our I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiancée, was recently approved (June 1, 2024) and we received our I-797 (NOA2) from USCIS and were notified that our case was sent to the Department of State. We haven't received any further communication via mail or email and we were hoping we could obtain our NVC Case Number in order to progress with our application. I have attached our I-797 (NOA2) to this request for your reference. Thank you for any help you could provide. Also requesting if you could verify that our email addresses are correct as listed below: Petitioner: Edward XXXXXXX Petitioner email: email@email.com Beneficiary: Jaycel XXXXXXX Beneficiary email: email@email.com Thank you.

What exactly is an inquiry? Do you get more information about your file from there, or something else?

So not updates on your case being sent to DOS? Ours took about 55 days until it got sent to DOS, yours should be coming anytime soon if it hasn't been sent to DOS

Also from the skipped range.
It has been 61 days since our case was approved and still hasn't been sent to DOS....
It will be one year in a month since we got NOA1....

Today our i129f was approved! 3 weeks short of a year. Status changed to RFE on May 5. Evidence was received at USCIS on May 19. Evidence sat for 2 weeks unopened. "Response To USCIS' Request For Evidence Was Received" status on June 2. This status lasted 3 days until approved June 5. In total, the RFE cost us a month of time even though we mailed the evidence back in 3 days after receiving the letter.

My fiancé and I are now stuck at the "Ready" CEAC status since May 23 with no news from my consulate yet. Sometimes you gain time and lose some elsewhere 😆 I hope that all of us skipped batch couples can be reunited by August/September 🙏

I really hope so.
I saw yesterday that they started sending April 4th, no mention of April 3rd 🙄
This whole process is so unfair toward us who got skipped for that long and now another long wait for the next step. Horrendous
And congrats ofc, I can just imagine the relief!

They only sent out 5 cases per day to DOS????😳
Same here skipped range. It's so unfair becuse we're waiting extra long to DOS now. Those got NOA2 a week before us already sent to DOS a month ago. I don't understand at all...
Anyway hopefully we can hear back soon, if they really stick to the time order. There's no way they skip cases to DOS again.

This is the breakdown of our process -
Case Was Sent To The Department of State
May 27, 2025
Case Was Approved
April 3, 2025
Case Was Received
July 10, 2024

No, once USCIS sends it to NVC, the case status on the USCIS site will change from "Case Was Approved" to "Case Was Sent To The Department of State"
-
Ha j reacted to SolidSnakex in Late June-Mid July 2024 Filers, Skipped Batch
We also waited 6-7 weeks before our case was finally transferred to the NVC.
Once the case is sent to the NVC you’ll need to wait another 2 weeks to receive your case number. After the second week you can send them a public inquiry to speed up the process a bit.
Once you get the case number you’ll need to wait another 2 weeks for your case to be “in transit” to the embassy.
The final step is scheduling the interview which can be 4-5 weeks.
So all in you’re likely looking at another 2.5 months before the process is complete. Good luck!

Where would I check that at? I log into the USCIS and it only states that the case approved, and on April they approved Form I-129F, and that they will mail something with instructions, nothing else.
Is there another website I can check to see the status through the DOS or NVC?
