  1. Welcome aboard! Though there is no specific Ireland forum here on VJ, there is quite an active UK forum and we always love new friends! Feel free to join us!

Thank you so much. Hey, we're all from the same area more or less. I lived in England for two years and also in Scotland for two years, so I should somewhat qualify.. I think lol.

  2. Thank you all for the warm welcomes!!!!!

    An O1 visa? I'm impressed! :D

Do you mind me asking what it is you do?

    And welcome to VJ.

Thank you. At the risk of starting a debate... which I really do not want to do....

I came here to train horses and fox hounds. We focused on ex race horses that had injuries or that just did not cut it in the racing world and helped train them to do other things such a fox hunting. My original sponser was a hunt club and the lawyer they had applied for the O1 visa as it had no restrictions on how many times it could be extended. They were somehow able to prove that they could not find a US employee to do the job I could. They elaborated quiet a bit on certain things, but whatever they did it worked.

These days I am a cook and work in the hospitality industry as does my husband. I got injured in my previous line of work and like those race horses had to be trained in a new field lol. My husband has always worked in hospitality and encouraged me to do the same. So that is where I'm at in life right now and loving it too. :)

  3. I've been lurking here for several weeks now and figured I should at least say hello and thank you for all the wonderful information here.

I tried to do my time line as best I could in my siggy. I'll fine tune it better as I dig through 8 years of paperwork.

I am currently waiting to hear from UCSIS on my AOS. And I'm also still trying to figure out all the abbreviations used here, lol.

I'm Irish born and raised and I moved to the US 8 years ago from Scotland. Worked for a few years and then found my true love. We married in 2004 and filled our paper work through an attourney. We then moved from VA to MI last year and filled for the AOS ourselves (that was scary).

Anyway, that's everything short and sweet.

Looking forward to getting to know you all better.
