  1. sympathy for those of you USC women that have been taken by MENA men. they come from a different culture, and do not have respect for women, in general, much less for foriegn women.

i understand the whole hybrid vigour attraction thing, but think you would fare better hunting a little closer to home. much easier for us guys, unless we get a nasty russian or asian. after 10 years divorced i finally married a chinese, but only because i had been able to live with her for 2 years, first.

Oh get over yourself...if you were such a great catch as an American man you wouldn't have to go all the way to China to find a wife...who by the way, could just as easily be using you too. Life's not so great in China!

I'm so sick of people saying that MENA men are bad. You know what? If Muslim men follow their religion and culture, then they make the BEST husbands in the world! They support their wives financially, handle all the responsibilities, and secure her and the children. They don't drink, go out to clubs and bars, cheat, and waste their time and money on frivilous things. If they don't follow their religion and culture and choose to act like the typical playboys that we have here in the US, then yeah, they do make lousy husbands!

Hahaha. Good one narina. that's exactlly what i was thinking of. if he was a good man he woulden't have to go so far to find a wife.

oh well don't be sick of that becouse people have to try things first before jadje them, but he can't try a mena man , of other wise he could be a gay..... loool

  2. As promised, here are the results of my ex's cousin, Hani.

He came in 2002 on a CR!, married to Marge and got his 10 year card.

    He took citizenship in 2007----

Divorced the next month and flew to jordan to marry his new wife

He came home and filed an I130---the new wife interviewed this morning and will get her shiny visa in 2 weeks.

So, it works. Get the greencard, get citizenship, new wife in 5 yrs.

Leaving this thread now as it leaves a malodorous taste in my mouth.

    Good luck to the OP.

    Jackie

thank you for the greatest news. but let me tell you. i didn't do what your cousin did. i got married to american woman and we both tried to make it work for 6 years . but you know things happen. so actually i didn't use her for that. both of us still best friends untill now. Goos luck everyone

  3. I wonder the same thing. I got divorced and remarried after 6 months. My first husband left after he got his greencard too, so I am hoping they don't give us a hard time. It wasn't my or my ex husband fault why he left, but USCIS always makes problems for people. I hope they don't make a problem for us or for you!

Don't worry, that's what they told me don't worry as long everything is legal and you can prove your marriage is real.

I know my wife even before i got divorced becouse my pervious marriage weren't working out and my wife and i were talking even before divorce.Good luck

this right here would be consider bad, you talk to other women and knew before divorce to me that part doenst look good

I agree with everyone. but let's say i have proved to them before that my pervious marriage was a real marriage and i went through all that. what is my wife's fault to not be with her husband . they also know that marriage in egypt between christians is not termnated at all. once 2 christians couple marry they will be married forever.

any how we will never know untill we get to NVC. thanks all

  4. Red flag: You married very soon after your divorce

Red flag: You were sponsored by a USC, now want to bring someone from your homeland to the US.

These two things make them look harder at your case for signs of green card fraud. One way fraud is committed is by marrying a USC, getting regularized, then divorcing and applying to bring over a spouse or fiance from the old country that they knew before the divorce. It's like that was the plan all along when you first came here. I'm not saying it is, but that's the way immigration examiners think.

well my pervious marriage was very reall that's why we were married for 6 years but we had some problems that made us sprate after that. also i went through naturalzation procceses and the intrviewer told me i divorced on july and remarried on october . he said it is ok becouse that's legal and nothing wrong with it. also after the interview told me now you will bring your new wife here right? i looked at him and he said yes , that's what i would do if i want to be with my wife.

so my point is if that was a fraud he won't never give me a citizenship.

pluse i told him i know her from my childhood but we were just talking as a friends.

  5. Hi all , I was Married to a USC from 2001 and we got divorced july,2006. soon after the divorce i went back to egypt and got married on october,2006 . i applied for i-130 when i was LPR and upgraded the petition on july2008. I am just wondring after all i rade here that my wife could have any problem after she go through NVC and interview.

I have visited her 5 times since we got married and i toke 3 leave of absance in the last 12 monthes to be with my wife.

Thanks for reading and giving your opinion.

why not ? she is my wife and we are married legally. and my divorce was legal too.

You've got a big red flag there.

    what's the red flag ?

Didn't you just come to the US like a year or two ago? And now you're applying for a wife that you have in Egypt? That would put a huge red flag up for me.

No i am not here from 2 oe 3 years ago i been in the US since 2001, did you read my topic? i am saying that i was married in the untired states and got divorced. after that i went to egypt to remarry. ofcourse it is a crime in the united states if you marry here while you are married in another country. no one can do that unless they crazy.

  10. Hi all,

I have my naturalization ceremony on coming Friday and I am planning to upgrade my spouse petition the same day.I filed I-130 in March 06 and it is still unapproved.I researched online and have some idea now about the process,I will call USCIS and send them a copy of my certificate alongwith a cover letter to upgrade,Is there any other way,I read some where else about email n fax but I can't seem to find the number for VSC.Should I call them up again to follow up or they will send me notice after upgrading. On average how long does it take if it is outside normal processing time as I applied in March 06

Please help and share your experince and thoughts.

Thanks a best of luck for every one

i did upgrade mine OCT.7.2008 i called USCIS on the phone and also send in a mail copy of NOA 1 and copy of naturalization certificate

when i called on the phone they told me i should be notifi with in 45 days so i am waiting

Yes they will notifi you about the upgrade with a latter . they sent me a letter after 35 days from my upgrade. But no approval since july 24,2008 that the date of the last letter they sent me.

  11. Hello, Everyone! I finally finished this letter, and I think it's appropriate in tone and specific in our request for a Congressional Inquiry. It would not allow me to upload, so I pasted it below. Perhaps it will help all of us who are still waiting after inhumane periods of time as well as those who are just getting started. If you want, you can copy and add your home address, receipt numbers and anything else like email address and contact numbers. However, the body of the letter should stay the same because the Judiciary Committee needs to see that many of us are affected in this similar way--waiting, waiting, and waiting for our NOA2 indefinitely. We should get a response from the Senators themselves or the Subcommittee. It's only polite and respectful for them to respond.

    Guidelines:

Print out a copy of this letter after you add your information. **Remember to add you House of Rep Member/Senator for your state. Again, this is protocol.

You can address your envelope to the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, refugees, & Border Security or each individual member who sits on this committee as well as your State's Senator. Personally, I will be forwarding a total of 11 letters (all members, the Subcommittee, and my State's Senator). It's up to you.

I believe including hard copies of the spreadsheets is necessary, but many will send these, so you don't have to do this. My letters will go off tomorrow, and as soon as I get responses, I'll add a new message here at visajourneys.com.

I wish all of you the best and hope that we see positive results from our proactive measures  !--Amor1

    United States Senate Judiciary Subcommittee

On Immigration, Refugees, & Border Security

    224 Dirksen Senate Office Building

    Washington, DC 20510

To the Honorable Members of this Subcommittee:

As a law-abiding US citizen, I, along with my fellow members of visajourney.com, request your assistance with our USCIS petitions. At present, the time frame for reviewing cases is nine months or longer. Despite published announcements to the contrary, many of us have been separated from our spouses and children (on whose behalf we filed I-130 and I-129F petitions) for a painful amount of time, time which cannot be recovered. After following the guidelines posted on the USCIS website and paying all applicable fees, we are waiting in suspense for an approval (the Notice of Action 2 – NOA2), and this is the source of our dilemma—an inordinate amount of waiting time and no clear explanations for delays. Hence, we ask you, Honorable Members of the US Senate, to investigate these seemingly negligent periods of inaction.

The first step for our family members is to submit the petitions to establish the existence of a relationship. Then, once approved, our petitions and all documents submitted are forwarded to the National Visa Center for further processing. As you are aware, the next phase is the embassy approval with required medical examination and interviews. Unfortunately, many of us have not moved past the first step because there have been no updates sent to us. In particular, many of us are still waiting for NOA2 from the Vermont Service Center (VSC). Please see attached spreadsheets. While the California Service Center seems to be processing petitions at an increasingly rapid rate, VSC is months behind. Why is there such a major difference between these two processing centers? Are there more adjudicators at CSC? Moreover, some petitions that are received months after others are processed faster. When questioned about this inequity, telephone operators at the USCIS give a standard response: “It depends on the case; each case is adjudicated differently.” Then when we ask about our individual petitions on behalf of our qualifying relatives, we receive the generic, “We’re within our processing time.”

For many of us, the entire process thus far has proven to be quite discouraging. We cannot get accurate, specific responses to our inquiries, nor do we receive the “first in, first out” treatment we were promised. Hence, we need and request your assistance. Perhaps an inquiry from your committee will garner more substantive, more accurate responses. Perhaps there is a way to change the process, so national security is not comprised, and families are not unnecessarily separated from their loved ones indefinitely. Attached, please find a copy of NOA 1 for our petitions (I-130 and I-129F). Below, see our receipt numbers given by USCIS. It is with great respect for your charge on this committee that I, along with many others, request your inquiry into this matter. Hopefully, all of us will receive the NOA2 and continue positively on the path of reunification with our family members. Equally, we hope that others will benefit from our proactive measures and their processing time will be much shorter and more humane.

    Respectfully yours,

  12. hello everyone

I filed I-130 immigration petition for my husband in July 2008 while I was still a Legal Permanent Resident. I am now US Citizen and have the following questions regarding upgrading the petition:

    1. Does the Service Center (VSC) issues a new NOA (Notice of Action) indicating the upgraded status after receiving my request for Upgrade? How can I confirm that the Service Center has in fact complied with my request?

    2. After the upgrade does the Priority Date remain the same as of the original application or it now becomes the date on which the Upgrade went into affect?

any experiences that folks can share would be much appreciated. Thanks in Advance

I went through this setuation. let me explain. send them a letter to request upgrade with a copy of your NO1 and citizenship certficate. they should send you a letter after maybe a month or so to confirm the upgrade.also call them to let them know by the phone first. i have done that last june and i am still waiting for approval. good luck

  13. I don't think that RFE line for CSC still exist. When I got my approval for I-130 was the day before USCIS change the whole phone menu.

I have no idea how vermont is processing cases but MIke, hang in there man. This will come to its end soon.

    Good Luck

ok i will try . only 10 more days and i will go to see my love , i am taking a leave of abcance for the forth time in the past 15 monthes . i will be ok as long i am with her.

    Good luck all

  14. yes this is the number but you follow the voice regarding RFE... Like if it says if you received RFE push this number.. etc.. then a live person at the service center you are at will answer.. You can just say that you dont have RFE but want to ask about your case... tell them it past processing time because you filled in 11/2006..See what happens

    Try it  good luck

Do you think there is something i didn't try? hahaha i tryed everything . ofcourse i did that too

  15. Which number are you calling USCIS? You can try the RFE Trick and try the RFE line and get better answers if you nice about your file  This is how I found out what stage they were are in my case... whent hey told me my I-129F was cancelled I was devasted, but then the officer told me no it's because you are at the last stages of your petition to be approved, you are in Secruity checks... But these damn Secruity checks took 3 months...LOL

So maybe you can try that....

    GL

No this not true, your petition continues from time you upgraded! when you petition in Nov 2006 they did a couple months work on it, then after that they kind of put it on hold until the day you become a US Citizen. You can just call them to upgrade it. Then from there depending on USCIS backlog  secruity check etc... It depends how long it can take.... But it should only take 3 to 4 months additional to prcoess an updated petition...I was told this when I went through the process as well from various government agencies including USCIS... So if you upgraded it in June be patient it's probably coming soon unless you are in secruity checks which can take longer. This was happen to us...

    Good Luck

    Hi all in VJ.

I just have a quition about the upgrade for I130.

I filed the petition back in novmber,2006 when i was LPR and i upgraded it on june 2008 after i became a US citizen.

Now i don't know what date the USCIS consider it for the petition. i spoke to couple of immigration oficers on the phone some told me the origenal date and other told me when you upgrade it you start all over again becouse you changed your status .

    what do you guys think?

Yes K-3 visa maybe another delay.. For us it was and they ended up cancelling ours :(

    You still have no approval?

Did you apply for K3 visa afterward? If you didn't then just make sure you won't do it because that causes some confusion....

Your original date doesn't change and priority stays same, you should be able to call them by now and let them know that your case is outside of normal processing time.

thanks for the reply. Yes i did applied for K3 visa too on augest , what is the confusion that may cause? i called the many time and made a service request and they sent me a letter to say my case still pending that's all .

tell me what's your experiance in this setuation?

    Thanks.

Yes i called them and they did upgraded already and sent me a letter.

Hahaha did they canceld the I-129? that's funny. well i wish they cancel mine too but only if they are going to work in my I-130.

and I guess like you said they did some work on it becouse i saw a touch on jan,2008 couple monthes before i get the citizenship. oh well we will never understand the way they work in the offices .

My lawyer told me something funny too. he said with USCIS you need to be lucky sometimes.

What's the ref line? explain more. I usually cal the 1800 number for USCIS

  18. At least you got a response from your service request. I never got a response to any of mine, in spite of the fact that my petitions were eventually approved.

Applying for the k3 after becoming Naturalized shouldn't confuse USCIS. It's a legitimate procedure that worked for me, although it took 12 months for my petitions to be approved.

    You still have no approval?

Did you apply for K3 visa afterward? If you didn't then just make sure you won't do it because that causes some confusion....

tell me what's your experiance in this setuation?

Thanks , well like i said in the begaining most of the immigration officers that i spoke to told me that too. they go by the date of the upgrade not the origenal filling date. i was in the congressman's office today and they toke a copy of my NO1 they told me that they will get back to me with a reply from vermont service center in 2 to 3 weeks. at last i could know what's going on.

Also the date they sent out the reply to my service request on october first i saw a touch in my i-130 online. i thought they will work on it but that only becouse of my service request .

  19. I am really sorry for your situation but:

It happens when you have two separate applications for the same purpose and both are for the same beneficiary.

USCIS is committed to process I-129F AKA K3 faster than your I-130 so almost they put your I-130 petition down and start processing your I-129F and then since it takes sometimes to process I-129F with current processing time, you get stuck but on the other hand if you could stick with only I-130, you should have already been approved by now and your Priority would stay as Nov, 2006.

With current situation and all shortcuts we have, K3 rout is wrong to me and useless especially in your case since it will cost you more and dealing time with USCIS will be much larger after beneficiary is here.

    Good luck Again…

That's correct. and that's why i am going to withdrow my I129 to bring up the I130 route. i can't wait another 8 monthes for I129 the procissing time in VCS is jan,2008 so far from augest fillers. maybe that works and bring the i130 up again.

thanks for the reply, Good luck to you too

  20. They are some factors to consider here:

    1) I have seen many cases which applicant upgraded their case and then applied for K3 to process faster but USCIS as beening confused all the time they gave them a new priority date and the whole thing went to hell. I don't know if you can widthraw your K3 and follow up with only IR1. (This is my personal experience and it is based on only my knowledge and please consulate a lawyer if you are willing to do so)

    2) Make sure that your upgrade has been gone through and they know the princinple applicant which is you, is a USC

    3) If the item 2 is correct, then call them and ask them to file an inquiry on your behalf and ask vermont to process this case ASAP since your priority date on the NOA shows Nov. 2006 while Vermont is processing November 26, 2007

    Check the link: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/Processtim...eviceCenter=VSC

They should take care of this ASAp and I have no idea why they haven't.

Thats crazy. Keep in mind I don't encourage you to take your I-129F out, you shouldn't even apply at the first place.

What I said was only the solution I tought of and you should ask others to make sure you are doing a right thing as I might be wrong.

look at VJ and see what is the processing time for I-129F in Vermont and what other people say.

You have to be very cautious for any action you are taking. Good Luck...

I think those people don't care any humans feelings, I called them last month to let them know i am outside processing times and they sent me a letter says out computer systems shows that your case still pending and check our website for procissing times. wow i can't even laught about that. any way i just sent an email to my congress man maybe he can help me . pluse i sent a complain to abdusman 2 weeks ago but still no reply for this complain either. this is really crazy.
