  1. We are in the K-1 Visa process now (just waiting forever.) We are just afraid that even if we are married and he has everything in line that the overstay from 27 years ago will come back and bite us. I hope you all are correct and they don't mess with us. We are trying to do everything we can as legally as possible from what we know.
  2. Hello, my fiancé and I have been circulating through what we can find on Trump's deportation laws. My fiancé lives in Ireland, and I live in Tennessee. We are wanting him to come over here and us get married here in the States. But with all the news reports of everybody getting deported, we are REALLY concerned and confused. When he was 18, (he is now 46,) he had overstayed by almost a year on his visa when he lived in Utah. But that was so long ago. He has since come over here on a tourist visa to see me and all, so we figured all was okay. However, with more news circulating around people getting deported for overstayed visas, it has us concerned. Surely, they would not have issued a tourist visit within the past couple of years for him to visit me here if there was an issue with it, right? Has or is anyone dealing with this and have some sort of feedback or advice? Thank you in advance.
  3. No, we just filed for the K-1 visa for him. So much paperwork! We are waiting for approval now.
  4. I am in the process of getting married to an Irish citizen here in the U.S. but have found conflicting readings on the process to go through in order to allow him to work here. What is the step-by-step that we need to ensure that he is legally able to work after we are married?? I thought it was just: get married, apply for Adjustment of Status, apply for a social security number for him. But now, I am seeing that he needs an EAD before the green card. I am really confused. We want to be legal, but everything is so confusing to us. Thank you to anyone who can assist.
  5. Hello, all I am so incredibly lost on how the whole process goes. I am a U.S. citizen living in the United States and my fiancé is an Irish citizen living in Ireland. We are wanting to get married here in the states as soon as possible. However, I cannot find any clear answers on the process anywhere! It is super frustrating. What we want: To marry here in the states, have him live with me with allowances to work here as well, we pay off my debts (about 2-3 years,) and then we move to Ireland to live. We have family and friends in both countries and want the freedom to travel between so dual-citizenship is our ultimate goal. HOW can we do this?? I have seen all sorts of forms here and there, but I am not sure if they pertain to our situation. We also WANT to be legal all around, but the government makes it so complicated. Please HELP! I need simple directions. Lists if possible! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
