Hi, this a question for a friend. He didn't file his taxes in 2003 and is wondering if he was supposed to do it, but we can't find anywhere what was the taxable income back then. He only worked for I think about 3-4 months. I would be greateful for any info or a link. Thanks!

Can visa overstayers be sponsored by employers so that they can receive their green card?
I am pretty sure they can't. At least not while still in US.

Chris, this is crazy, I think you should keep on calling until you get to talk to someone who has some knowlege about the process... And probably it wouldn't hurt if you contacted your congressman, maybe he would help, he wouldn't be ignored by them like we are.
How are those processing times on their website NORMAL if they went backwards from April 16th to April 1st!? This would be 5 months for EAD and we all know it's not normal.
Looks like they have the easiest job, can say whatever they want to, they don't know anything, and they can't be hold accoutnable for anything. It's just not right!

That's great, congratulations! You can relax now!

OMG Steph, I can't believe it! Apparently your adjucator doesn't know what he is doing! I wonder if this is again for the same thing, but you have already another sposor, so maybe this is something else? I have no words. Be strong and let us know what this is all about!

I was holding my EAD card in hand 6 days after that email.

From Chicago it goes to National Benefit Center in Missouri, and from there it will be transferred either to California Service Center (most likely approved without an interview) or to your local office for interview.
For processing times just click on the link on top of this page.
Good luck.

I think it is possible, just have your lawyer to file ASAP. Good luck!

You should be counting 90 days from your Notice date, and there is not much you can do now, since you already put in service request. If you don't hear anything back you should make an infopass, it helped me to get my EAD. I know it sucks, but yeah, we are pretty much stuck waiting for everything with USCIS.

Congrats ferfer on your EAD (finally!) and Evan on your Interview Letter!

We are driving down to New Orleans tonight, at least this was the plan... I just called the hotel there and they said that we could still come, even though there is a hurricane heading that way, but they won't close untill the city orders evacuation. I guess we will check with them tomorrow morning again, since we are supposed to get there tomorrow night and stay for 2 nights. It really sucks, we have been planning this trip for some time now and I really worry that it is not going to work out! We want to leave New Orleans on Sunday morning so if there is no evacuation I hope we will be fine, otherwise we might be stuck in traffic forever! Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Congratulations! Thank you for sharing!

Thanks guys, now for a change I will be waiting for my interview letter but at the moment EAD was more important and I'm happy that I finally got it!

OMG, this is crazy! I can't believe they told you you had no RFE when you went for you infopass appointment!
This is also why I didn't get a lawyer. What did your lawyer say about all this?

Thank you! I don't know how much was withheld, but he made around $6-7,000. I looks like he should be fine.
And no, it has nothing to do with K1 or anything like that.
