  1. I have already bought off contacts from this site, and it's recommended :)

There's only Acuvue 2 Color Opaques. $31.49 PER BOX (check specials!)

You can select 0.00 in the POWER droplist

    Coastal Contacts

Shipping is free depending on the total cost :P

You can select the country that applies to yours! I clicked on the Canadian flag on the top right corner.

    Hope I helped

  2. I got my interview letter in a month, that's just my case though. Since we live in different places... Yours might be longer

For the expiration date, are you talking about the "Approval Notice" from the USCIS?

If it gets expire before you get your interview, just call to get your date extended. I almost got mine expired!

  3. Sorry if I get a little off topic in this topic... But I have a question regarding dual citizenship :)

So the kids get dual citizenship right away and there's not problem, thats great! But what about the mother or father who is not American? How does she/he apply for a Dual?

In my case, I am Canadian and if I want to apply for a dual, when can I do that? Some woman told me that you have to wait like 8-10 years  There goes 10% of my life lol.

If you are in the US on a spousal visa, you can apply for citizenship 3 years after you have received permanent residency. You will need to mostly remain in the US for those 3 years.

Great! So after I get my permanent residence... I'll apply for a dual. I love my home country, can't just leave it like that :P

    Thanks!

  5. There is no need to translate the documents to English for the interview.

Vani, in a country where the official language is Spanish, there is no way that a public office would issue a document in English. If the OP decided he wanted to get it translated he'd have to take the documents to a certified translator not lawyer.

That sucks... Good thing I could have mine in English!

Well I wasn't sure anyways(good thing I mentionned I could be wrong xD)

I thought I could help

Wow you frequent posters know a lot about these stuff!

  6. I don't know if my answer will help you but...

If you can get the police certificate in English that would be great!!! If you got it in Spanish, then get it translated by a professional (lawyer?)

I live in a province/state where the main language is French and English as secondary. So when I went to the local police, they asked me if I wanted the form in English or French. I said English.

That's how I got mine in English! And YOU ABSOLUTELY need all your original documents in English so the Embassy people can read it. My interviewer was American, so obviously he wouldn't know any French and he told me he just arrived at the embassy like 4 weeks ago (he was very nice!)

    Good luck!

  7. Sorry to double post, it didn't let me edit my previous post!

    I wanted to mention also...

Did I needed a copy of the DS 256k form too? for the interview that is... I know they have a copy but I really wonder if they have all my papers. Maybe some papers are sent somewhere else for inspection/reviewing?

    To Sum it up:

Do I need a copy of DS 256k and I-134 Affidavit of Support?

Thanks, hope someone will post before tomorrow morning.

  8. I just read a review from somebody else...

Will they ask me for the I-134 affidavit of support application? I don't have it anymore, I sent it in the packet to the embassy in order to get an interview.

Oh #######??? I didn't make a photocopy of that one. Sounds bad!!!

The person's review (k3 visa though):

I had to go to the other room to wait till "my name" was called this time. The second time I had to go to the window, she asked for the I-134 application, 2006 and 2007 of my husband's tax return and his letter of employment. That was all they asked for. Then she told me to go to window 14 to pay my $131- U.S. for the administration fee. Then I had to wait again. I was called for the third time to the window to get my fingerprints done. When I had to go back and wait again. After 29 minutes, I was called into Room 8 where the interview was.

So... its a seperate place... I don't think they will have two folders containing all my documents... unless they pass it out to each other... argh!!

  9. Aaah thank you so much Eresh! *cries* I am so nervous I'm stressing out so badly!!!

I hope they really understand, because they are strict people... And they might think I'm unorganized (well I am an unorganized person when I'm stressed) and take down some points off the interview :(

Do you mind posting the URL to the other forum? It could help me a lot.

    Thank you all!!!

  10. I sent it along with the whole package (the DS 230 forms, etc) to the embassy in Montreal (to get an interview). I saved photocopied versions of them though.

Am I screwed? I'm really anxious now, I have a feeling this whole thing won't go well.

I guess I'll show up with the copies of my originals... and explain that they have my originals.

    It's tomorrow morning so, sigh.

  11. hey there!

I have my interview tomorrow morning and I just realized something important.

I sent in my original copies of my birth certificate and police record paper. I made photocopies of them both, but it's still not the original.

Is it bad? Because I heard that I needed the originals at the interview, if I explain my situation will they understand?

I am nervous now, help would be appreciated...

    Thanks.

  12. Hello there,

I am currently in a relationship with an American (I am Canadian) and we are engaged. We filled for the K1 Visa and all went good, until I got my appointment date! I'm happy, but also anxious and nervous because I don't know if our whole thing will go smoothly. My appointment date is in two days!!! April 24 2008.

Who has been through this? Was the interview tough? Intimidating? Uneasy? How are the people? Did you succeed in getting your visa?

The only thing I'm worried about is our financial situation. We're young you see, I am turning 20 and he is 21. He currently unemployed and his mother is supporting us (Affidavit of Support). She owns a restaurant and they earn a decent amount of money, but I think they are classified as a poor family in the States (they really don't look poor at all).

Will this financial situation really ruin my interview?

I will say that he will find a job in fall when he goes to University and I will also get a job (his mother will provide me a job 100% if I needed, if not I would work somewhere else).

What happens if I got turned down for the visa? What are the options?

Thanks for the help as I'm feeling really excited and uneasy =)
