my husband lived in us for one year....after that...he is going forthnback to india..just let u know that the he is on green card..he also have ssn....so i m just wondering dose he have to be present in usa while his file in process ?

There is no such thing as a conditional visa, except, perhaps, the K-1, which is given with the condition to marry the petitioning spouse.

IR-1 and CR-1 visa holders have no condition.

If you are talking about removing conditions from a Green Card that expires after 2 years, in your case I see a huge problem as Green Card Holders (we refer to them as Lawful Permanent Residents) are required to live in the United States permanently. It is not possible to live in India, whether for education any other purpose, and be a permanent resident of the US at the same time, as people have only one body.

In order to remove the conditions, prove of residency in the US has to be provided. I don't see how you he can do that if he lives in India and just occasionally visits the US in order to keep his status alive.

i dont think so he can come back ......but does eveyone get the interview eventhough if u give them all doucments n eveything....also what the timefram for the interview...how long does it take after u fill for to remove conditional on visa ?

However, if he leaves in July - will he be able to return if/when you have an interview?

After reading your post i gave a call to NVC and I got my interview date too it's august 26 .

I was hoping for interview date in August but i wasn't sure that i will get it as my case was just completed yesterday but i made it.

From your signature i saw you got your interview letter on 14th July.. Can you tell me the date when NVC mailed you the interview letter so i can guess the date i might get the interview letter.. It usually takes 3 to 4 days for the mail to arrive from the date NVC mailes ..

oh my gosh i cant believe it that my husband got visa.

i just call him and he scared the hell out of me saying he didn't get visa because of not enough financial support.i was scard to death. after i m done talking with me i recived his message saying that he got VISA. i was so mad at him for doing that kind of joke on me.but he got me this time.

My wife has interview on Monday at the Mumbai Consulate for IR-1 visa. Can she take the cellphone with her? I know they don't allow it inside the consulate but I have heard that if someone does bring it then they put it in a locker. Is that true? Please let me know as soon as possible.

Just got off from NVC operator asking for the interview date if it has been assigned to our case yet.. The lady replied.. Yes it has.... I was like.. woow... which one. She said " August 27th, 2008 at 7:30am"

I am so much happy.. Called my husband and told him first.. He is also so much happy..

LOTO, how much time do they take for POE at JFK and its eraly morning flight around 7 am, because my husband have only 1 hour between connecting flight from JFK.

That depends Nitshrut! Where's his check-in luggage collection ? The queue in citizen/permanent resident line is not that bad. There will be a chit-chat with POE officer. Since he/she has to review the sealed envelope, fingerprint capture, photo capture etc. it can take some time - I would say 5 to 10 min. Check-in luggage collection is a time consuming process.

Also, ask him to get out of the flight at JFK as soon as possible after landing, so that he can be the first in the queue.

More news... Since Rajee and Nitshrut are booking airline tickets, prices are going up due to the demand (I don't think it is because of the fuel price increase )

Just wondering if you guys had any input on when I should book Neetu's ticket for... Her interview is the 16th so I was looking at (originally) the 22nd evening - now we're looking more at the 23rd but there's a question as to whether we should be looking at the 24th .... Confusing!!!

The reason for all this thinking is that the VFS office told Neetu that it could take 3-4 business days for her to have the passport ready for pick up. If I'm doing the math right, not counting the day of the interview and not counting the weekend that will follow, aiming at the 23rd allows for 5 business days...

Is that cutting it too close? Loto - I know Fathima is gonna fly over about a week after her interview date so I'm using that same model ...

Any advice is greatly appreciated!
