  1. Hi there, Recently, I was able to transfer my Russian fiancé's case from Warsaw to Almaty. He had his interview, everything went well, and the officer approved him. However, we were informed by email that he will be put in AP. 3 weeks passed by, last Tuesday, the case status on CEAC turned into a non-immigrant visa, and the status changed to application received. On Thursday, it changed to approved. It has been approved for over a week now. They reached out to him to confirm something last Friday, and he replied to them immediately, but we still heard nothing from them. Now, I am just curious and wondering how long it is taking on average for the visa to be issued? We chose delivery to Russia for the passport and documents as well. Thanks
  2. Hi, thank you. The visa was a K1, and I believe they asked everyone who was applying for B and F visas to have their social media public. We submitted the document the day they asked for it. On CEAC, it shows the latest update was Thursday, so I am hoping they got to see what I sent and it gets resolved soon.
  3. HI, thank you so much for ur reply. Yeah, he wasn't handed a 221(g), and we genuinely thought everything went fine. We submitted the handles of his social media. He doesn't use them much anyway. According to the officer, no documents were missing. He had his expired Syrian passport with him, and the officer just looked at it; we didn't think they would request that. We were well-prepared, had proof of our relationship, wedding invitations, and all the necessary items, along with additional items, but they hadn't requested anything. Now, since they didn't return his passport to him, is that a good sign? Does that mean that it won't be too long?
  4. He is Russian and also Syrian. never been to Syria since 2011, and he left Russia only to visit the UAE, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia for tourism and family purposes. never served in any military and has no criminal record. that's why I am concerned.
  5. Hi there, My fiancé had his K1 visa interview last Thursday, and the officer asked basic questions. Then, she said, 'Congratulations, your visa is approved, handed him a paper with instructions on how to collect his passport, and said he should receive it in 3-5 days. The status changed to 'refused' on Tuesday, and they contacted us on Wednesday, stating that the case is in ongoing administrative processing, and requested copies of his old passports -he holds two citizenships-, which he had not used since 2011. So we did, now I am concerned about why they asked for that, and how long does this usually take? Note: the officer asked to see the requested passport in the interview, so he told her it had expired, but here u go. She saw it and gave it back.
  6. Hi, does anyone know if the status on CEAC changes for a K1 visa? It still says "Ready" with the latest updates being on the day of the interview. so I am wondering What is the typical processing time to print the visa? My fiance had the visa last Thursday, the officer said his visa was approved, and we are still waiting.
  7. Hi all, basically what the title is saying. I am wondering if anyone has an idea. My parents will be the joint sponsors. I started professional school mid-year 2024 and do not meet the poverty guideline on my own. Thank you!
  8. Thank you for the reply. The fiancé route worked better for us because I was unable to leave the country frequently, as I am a medical student and don't have control over my schedule, barely get any time off, too. Also, I have read that some embassies don't accept k1 joint sponsors. these posts were fairly old, is that still the case? My fiance interview is in Kazakhstan.
  9. Hi all, I have been searching the web for multiple hours and have not seemed to get an answer to this question. I am a student, and my parents will be jointly sponsoring my fiancé. However, I am confused about which form they need to fill out. Do we use I-134 or I-864 for the joint sponsors? Thank u.
  10. Thank u, everyone, so much! The issue is they had 32 years of experience, so that's why I trusted them, but now I am leaning into doing everything by myself. I appreciate the help!
  11. Hi all, I am confused on this matter. A paralegal I have worked with is telling me that I need to sign the affidavit of support, and ship it by mail. However, I am reading online that I can just sign it, scan it and my fiance can then just print it out. Anyone have an idea?
  12. Hi there, I am happy you got your case transferred. Congratulations on that. I am in the same situation as you were. If you don't mind, can I send you a message?
