    Thanks for the response! So Advanced Parole would allow me to stay in Japan for a year and not lose my ability to naturalize once I return?

    Hey peeps. I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and if they found a solution. Context I'm a Green Card holder who will be attending a school in Japan for the entirety of 2025. While studying, I will maintain connections to an American company by working remotely around 20 hours a week. Question Breaking continuous residence resets the timer to another 5 year wait. Is there a way that I can maintain continuous residency for the purpose of being able to apply for a citizenship as soon as I return to America? I've heard about Advance Parole or N-470 form, but not sure what best applies to this case.
