Hi there. We were allowed to put in a service request at around six months and one week, due to the case being outside of normal processing time. A few days after they approved my case for expedition, we received an RFE (for something we sent in the first time that they lost.

I seriously think we are being processed by the same adjudicator and he is really slow. Does your case # happen to end in 19?
Also yes, I have lived in Mexico before, so I am willing to go live there again, although obviously I would prefer the states I am so sick of waiting.

Thanks for the positive thoughts, Channah! I am feeling really down and depressed. Since they told me in May that we are under background investigation and to check back in six months, they won't let me put in another service request or anything. Thinking of making an InfoPass appointment or contacting the Obudsman....

#######? Are you KIDDING me? I would be LIVID if I were you. Get your Senator involved immediately! Granted, mine didn't have the power to do anything more than send an e-mail and get a standard response, but you never know, some Senators/Congressman seem to actually have power. WHY ON EARTH WOULD THEY NEED 30 MORE DAYS?!?!?!

VSC told my congressional liaison that they will "expedite this petition" - does this mean our BG checks are over? How much longer will it take - knowing VSC expedite could still mean another month!

220 days since NOA1 - 7.5 months. Broken down, frustrated, and feeling helpless. About ready to give up on the American Dream and head back to Mexico....what did we do to be made to wait this long? I paid my money - more than those who filed after Nov and are approved way before me. Our immigration system is so broken.

a DHL package is en route to my fiancé from the consulate. We won't know what is in it - good or bad - until Monday or Tuesday.

Congratulations Mon! I know it's the visa approved, so let me tell you what's inside of the DHL packet it's passport with a stamp ( like a usa passport) if you have one of this ypu're approved! It's says issued date and exipired date the name and photo and the kind of visa you have in this case K1, then you're gonna find a letter with instructions on how to cross the border with your visa etc. And finally you're gonna have a yellow packet with your info and...

ANOTHER week came and went with nothing. Almost eight months with nothing. Got a letter from USCIS today saying that a decision cannot be made because the required background investigation into us is still open. Ironic, considering neither my fiance or I have any criminal background whatsoever - not even a speeding ticket! Guess he won't be here by my birthday like I hoped..
