  1. Hello Friends,

My husband and I orignally started this journey petitioning for a K-3 Visa. We got our NOA's back that both our I130 and I129F petitions were approved, but instead of it then be sent to my Consulate in South Africa, my husband now got a letter from the NVC saying that he should pay a $70-00 fee for a I864 Affidavit of Support.

Any advice on this and why it is now going this route instead of the K-3?

What is the timelines I'm looking at now? should we go this route?

Any advice will be truly appreciated.....

  2. ok....I'm still confused.

My husband arrived back in the States last night and confirmed with me that he got a letter from the NVC stating that he needs to pay a $70-00 fee for the I864 Affidavit of Support....

Am I wrong if I say that it seems they are going the CR1 route now, although both our I130 and I129F was approved?

Any advice why they are going this route and what we should do? Have anybody else gone this route who can advise us?

    thank you for the help....

  3. Can somebody PLEASE help me!!!!!!

Both my husband and I have now written numerous e-mails to the NVC but we don't get any feedback and it's driving me crazy.

My husband is currently visiting me in South Africa, but even though we received the NOA's that both our I130 petition and then our I129F petition was approved on 2008-04-15, my consulate has still not received anything from the NVC.

It seems now that there is a letter from the NVC waiting for my husband when he gets home on Saturday, going the IR1/CR1 route and that he needs to pay a $70-00 bill, and then there is a IR1/CR1 process that needs to be delt with in the NVC before it is sent to my consulate.

Why are they going the IR1/CR1 route if both our I130 and I129F petitions has been approved? I don't understand, and we're getting no answer from them. This doesn't seem right. Everything I've read says that once the I130 and I 129F been approved it is sent by the NVC to my consulate.

Can anybody please help me.......I going up the walls.

    Thank you.

  4. Hello all,

We are still waiting for the NVC to send our stuff to my local consulate after our I130 and I129F petitions has been approved, but I would however like to get ready for the interview well in advance.

Can anybody help me with a list of what is required according to this "packet 3", that I will have to collect from the consulate once it is received?

    Thank you so much.....

  5. Hello anybody who can help,

My husband and I are still in the process to get my K-3 Visa to the US approved. We've got our NOA of approval of the I129F on 2008-04-15. My husband is currently visiting me in South Africa, but right before he came here he enquired from the NVC about when we can expect to collect our "packet 3" from my local Consulate in South Africa. He was adviced that the NVC will send him a letter on certain steps than needs to be taken by him, and pay a fee of $70-00 before they continue processing our case.

Can anybody advice me what this is about. I was under the impression that the next step will be the transfer of our Case from the USCIS to the NVC and then straight to my consulate for the medical and then interview.

    Any advice will be appreciated.
