yes. i have submitted the application but they rejected 2 forms. One is the i-864 form in PDF and is sized at 776kb. The other is the birth certificate. I am getting "invalid image detected" for the i-864 form. For the birth cert, they are saying the format is wrong. The issue is that I asked the issuing office and they told me that they are not using the old format that is indicated by NVC. So not sure what to do next...

Hello, I am working on DS260 form. When I try to upload the i-864 form as PDF (File size is 776kb), I am getting an error "Invalid Image Detected". I have tried using different browser but it still says the same thing. The other issue is that I have to upload 3 birth certificates but they are rejecting the file saying it's invalid format. The issue is that the issuing authority has updated all of their birth certificate forms. The US embassy/NVC (whoever is reviewing the files) keeps telling me to upload the correct format. I am not sure what to do now. The issuing office told me that they have no way to issue the old format. Thanks

Thank you Appleblossom. I am helping out my friend, whose mom petitioned for him years ago. They have received notification to complete DS260 forms and upload civil documents. Some questions are not as straight forward. I am a naturalized citizen myself but that was a while back. So some of these are very much new to me. The case shows Priority date as 26 OCT 2010. I believe it is current since they have received updates regarding interview.

Thank you. The confusion I have is that if someone arrived here in Jan 2024 and has a 5 year student visa, how do I enter that information on the DS260 form? Do I start adding the current year visit then work backwards to 5 visits? If I do that then I have to select length of Stay, which is confusing. I was going to mark it as "arrived Jan 2024 and length of stay 5 years" since that is what the visa validity is. Is that accurate or should I exclude the current year visit? The form has no help page (at least I did not find it). Also, why isn't the submitted document button working after uploading the civil documents?

Hello, I am working on completing the DS260 form. First question: i have uploaded all the civil documents but when i click SUBMIT documents, nothing happens. I don't see any error on the page. There is no flag. There is a Field for OPTIONAL documents but none of those are applicable. I am unsure why the submit documents button is not working. 2nd question: The question where it says "provide your last 5 visits to USA, how do I answer it for someone who just came to USA in January of 2024 on a student visa? The applicant is here currently. Does that count as part of last 5 visits? I would think that is not what they are asking. I thought Previous 5 visits excludes current stay? Please help. I don't want to submit it then have issues.

Hello, as I am filling out the DS260 form, I see N/a under civil documents section. I have the documents ready but do not see option to upload it on DS260 form. The form is asking me to confirm, review and sign and submit. I am not sure if i want to submit the form without uploading the civil documents. Any suggestions?---THANK you so much in advance.

Since she is a student and does not want to miss her class or have any interference with her F1 status, after the interview, does she have to stay at her home country for a while? As far as I know, after the interview, it can take a month or so to get some response then probably another month to come to USA as an immigrant. That's why I wonder if she has to go for the interview but stay for a while (that would mean she could miss her classes for a month or so) and the university would need reasonable justification to allow that since she is here as an International student.

Thank you. My friend is not tech savy. I am just helping them out. I had a similar situation when I was on F1 and my parents were granted immigrant visa. I was under 21 and they had told my parents that I could adjust my status here but it was not true. When I went, they told me that I should have gone for consular processing instead of adjustment of status.

Sorry, I am not sure what is PD? The petition was submitted years ago and they received an approval notice from NVC few months ago saying it is now ready to go to interview stage pending all documents are submitted. Since my friend and his wife are still abroad, and their daughter is here in USA, I wonder if she has to fly back for the interview since she is an unmarried 20 year old applicant or can she do Adjustment of status? I am not sure if my friend called USCIS or NVC yet.

Hello, My friend's niece is here in USA on F1 visa (she is 20yrs old). Her parents are in the process of getting an interview for green card (her grandmother applied for them and it has been approved). Question is since she is already here in USA legally and is under 21, what would be best for her? Should she fly back to attend the interview with her parents or can she complete adjustment of status here? Also, here parents were told to submit "Immigrant Visa Application (Form DS-260) - complete and submit one of these forms for each person who intends to immigrate." I assume my friend's niece also has to submit one too? Thank you in advance for your response.
