hello. I am looking at where to filled information about our case but haven't figure it out yet. I will for sure. here is a bit of it. We sent papers 01.17.2025 we got the letter that case was open 01.29.2025 we got biometrics appointment for 02.21.2025 I-130 I-485 I- 765 we received a notice yesterday that the Birth certificate needed to show the original. even though we gave them a English translated one from the consulate here. we are working on it. question. My wife just realized she made a mistake on most of the forms. Japan have a different calendar so he had to convert her parents birthday to the western calendar and she screw up the date. what do we do in this case? how do we contact our officer? to know what to do. Hello everyone. I finally sent the application papers for my wife, usps shows delivered on Jan 23rd. Now I am wondering what is the next step. wondering how long usually it takes for them to send a case in progress or to let me know if the papers were accepted? just for me to have an idea. also, as of now everyone seems very concern about new Trump deportations I get extra anxious. she is still legal on ESTA visa until the end of February. afraid that she might get deported after that even if the case in in progress. My friend just call me and said they will be checking for even flights inside the US looking to deport people. I am getting worry about that of course. don't want her to have to go through that. anyways. waiting on the case to be accepted. not sure how long they take for that. and wondering if staying after while we are waiting for our case will be dangerous. good morning everyone. Slow this new year. hope everyone is well. I have a decision to make and doing lots of research and thinking. Form I-864 I am the main sponsor. trying to decide if I qualify by myself or if I need a co-sponsor. I made enough money last year and will be the same or a bit better this year. But I get paid with 1099s. now my schedule C has the full amount I got actually paid las year. but the 1040 line 9. says total income and it has a lower number. I guess expenses and deductions I made last year were taking out. now what is my total income? schedule C, (what I got paid for my services) or line 9. total income. (after expenses ). a bit tricky to have a clear idea from everything I have heard about this subject. hope someone has a good idea and I can avoid making a mistake here. Thank you so much. peace

I checked everything so I made sure there are no mistakes and hope for best. Nervous and exited. Just confirming with you all that I am not missing anything. Money orders are ok right? I got this fees so far I-130 $675 I-485. $1440 I- 765. $ 260. (this one I have some doubts) I think because I am doing I-485 this is the correct amount. right? I-864 is free G-1145 free we are not doing I-131 advance parole. This is it right? I have the medicals I-693 included. a friend told me I don't need the police records. a question. Finger prints I don't have to include anything about that in the application right? nervous .... thank you, thank you, thank you.

do I need criminal records of her as well with I-485? in the instructions it says.. if applicable. thanks again

I am a US citizen, originally born in Cuba , have been a us citizen for since 2009, my now wife came on an ESTA visa, we got marry here in US. form I am summiting: I-130. Petition for Alien Relative I-30A. Supplemental Information for Spouse Beneficiary I-864. Affidavit of support I-485. AOS I-131. Travel (advance parole). I-765. Work permit (EAD) G-1145. E notification of Acceptance. filling fees: I-130. $675 I-485 $1,440 questions/doubts 1- Should I summit I-130 online and send I-485 and others by mail? 2- Do I have to summit any form for medical records or criminal records? 3- my Alien registration #? In my certificate of naturalization I see a CIS registration number A#######, is that it? or because I am a US citizen already I leave blank? 4- Shall I include photos of our long relationship before we got married? (already have lease and shared bank statements) 5- is it better to add more sponsors besides myself for safety? my income, savings, her bank savings, including those. any other tips are welcome . trying to get this done as soon as possible and I am very close. wish me luck . hope for speedy and easy process . thank you all for all your help. hello everyone. I got a few questions and was hoping for some help from this forum. In the form I-485 there is an option for The Cuban Adjustment act. Now , I am Cuban, married to a Japanese , I am applying for AOS but Can I click on cuban adjust act? since I am a Cuban born (US citizen for 15 years or more). Another question I had was, I see some forms can be apply online and others not. When you are ready to file do you send everything physically by mail or do some of them online? Thanks so much. hello everyone. I am back with a couple of more question hoping for some help from experienced people. I got all the forms and I am starting to fill them out. as I said we recently got married. 1- in the guides it mentions as proof of the authenticity of the marriage, bank account, share lease and others. She is still here on a ESTA visa. can we open bank accounts together? do you know which bank do you recommend. I am not sure I can get her name on my current lease. wondering what other forms of proof you recommend. of course we been together for a year so I have plenty of photos and videos of us, traveling and being together. plus people who know us. 2- I heard that you can apply for a advance parole if she needs to travel before she gets the GC. do I apply for advance parole together at the beginning? do you know the form? starting to get close to the application and I am excited trying to gather all the documents I need. So far so good. just doubts about lease, and banks and stuff like that together. Thanks again for all your help with both of us. appreciate it.

Hey Boiler. Yes, She came on ESTA and is here already. I assume once she is is inside it is considered a tourist visa. Yes, we will apply very soon we hope. gathering all the information before we go ahead with it. AOS is what we think we will like to do. I think it will be fine without a lawyer, but wondering other peoples experiences about this. everything is straight forward with us so no big issues. really? she can still visit on ESTA while she waits for her application if she applies from Japan? I thought that was no possible. yes, definitely Japan is amazing, loved it, in the future we hope to move there but for now I need to be in US for at least 5 years to finish my job. scratching my head trying to figure out the best route to take. we been traveling back and forth for over a year and its been good but challenging. specially on her ESTA. thanks again.

oh wow. I see I had it all wrong maybe. So, we are married already and she is here with me. She will be ok to stay for a year without leaving if necessary. I thought that K1- K-3 was for fiancee and to apply from outside the US and that they will take a very long time and that she could not visit me while in process . I can't be traveling too much. I see I need to read a lot more. ok, so , AOS will be K-1 visa application . I will look for the guides for that. ok, so if we take the Ir-1/CR-1 route she needs to leave and apply in Japan? is this longer time? can she visit while we wait? Hi. first day reading this forum and I am trying to unpack all the information from this wonderful forum. I hope you don't mind my very green understanding of things as of now. I proposed and married my girl after a year and a half of being together and dealing with the challenges of being together. she is from Japan and I am us citizen and came on an ESTA visa. she said yes, we married now I want to have her be able to stay here with me. So, I see that we could apply for a Adjustment of Status before she leaves. is that the same as the IR-1/CR-1? I am thinking to apply my myself. Hope this is possible. any help will be appreciated.
