  1. I had the same problem, and was worried. I phone the (mis)Information line, and eventually spoke to a person (after getting mad and just randomly pressing lots of numbers at once). who could not find it, so she put me on hold for 1/2 hr and then I spoke to a supervisor, who said he could find it (he could apparently access more deeply into the system). He said not to worry, it just means whoever initially received it forgot to enter it into the tracking system. I'd say if you got an interview, that means your I-130 is fine, otherwise you would have received an RFE first. This guy told me that the I-130 follows along attached to the I-485.

    Congrats on your interview!!!

Well that makes me feel better, would be bad to drive out to Atlanta only to find some critical paperwork missing. As it is, our lawyer has advised us to take copies of everything we sent in initially as well as all the supporting documentation we can get our hands on, which seems like good enough advice.

We were really shocked when we got the interview notice so quickly, we were told to expect an interview maybe June-August sometime, not that I'm complaining of course. Now we're scrambling to get as much documentation as possible for the interview. I'm not really sure why we got the interview so quickly, but hopefully it will go well. :)

It indeed is a (mis)information line. When my I-130 was approved, there was some language on it that confused us. We called USCIS service center on 3 - 4 different occasions, and got a different answer each time. We finally made an appointment at the local field office, met an officer, and got the right answer. I suggest scheduling an appointment and meeting an officer.

  2. i have a question folks, i see alot of your guys AOS stuff gets transfered to CSC, well i had applied the i130 before everything else, it was at CSC, then transfered to NBC, everything of mine currently resides at NBC, is this a good thing or bad. will it slow everything down???

When the files are transferred to CSC..theres a VERY good chance they will be approved without an interview..I appear to be on track for an interview lol..but there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it..I suppose it depends on how busy your local office is. or..other factors..haha who knows..its the government!

    good luck!

    Shawna

Without an interview? Is that even possible? Why does only CSC follow this practice?

  3. If the I-130 was already approved at the time of AOS filing, will an interview still be required? I am asking this question based on the following assumption:

    - AOS interview is to validate the marriage. When the marriage is validated, the I130 and AOS are approved together

    - by approving the I130, USCIS recognizes that the authenticity of the marriage. Hence if the I130 was already approved at the time of AOS filing, then why would an interview still be required?

    Any thoughts on this?

  4. Immigration Blues, if it's any comfort to you, the EXACT SAME THING JUST HAPPENED TO ME ON EXACTLY THE SAME DATES. I guess too many notices is better than none at all, right?

I guess you're right. I'll wait for the card and worry if I don't get it in 30 days. It's just that immigration seems to be this big black hole that we have no visibility in to - and anything can happen once things go into that hole. Very often there is no real rhyme or reasons why things happen (or don't happen) in there which is why we all get worked up about anything thrown back at us from within that hole.

  5. Is the AP approval notice actually the advance parole document, or is it just a notice telling us that they are going to send us the advance parole document?

God, this is such a great day!! We were starting to get worried over NOTHING! Hooray!!!!!! :D

    It's the actual document!!!

    Woohooooo!!!

Don't book anything JUST yet though, wait until you have it in your sweaty paws!!!

    Hopefully Friday or Saturday :)

Per the online case status, my EAD card production was ordered today. I guess this is a milestone?

What implications does this have on my current H1-B?

    Thanks!

    Yay!!

    Congrats!!!

Not sure what it means as regards your H1-B, but it does mean you're authorised to use the EAD for work.

Leafy, hang in there, yours is JUST around the corner!!

    Thank you :-)
