    anyone from april list got their oath letters? its' been a month now but haven't recieved ours. I am sensing the oath letters have slowed down. This is election season and it should be fast in my opinion?

    I got my second oath letter on Thursday. I did not go for the first one as I already had made vacation plans which I did not want to change. My oath is on Sep 26th in Cincinnati. I got my first letter after about 5 weeks. I am sure you will receive yours soon. Good luck.

    Hi everyone

    So I had my interview this morning as well. Waited about 30 mins, and the interview was 15-20 mins. Basic questions, just running through everything. I have to say though, profiling is still alive and well in the US... The longest part of the interview was the part where the officer was grilling me about my wife's heritage, since her maiden name is Haddad (she's 1/4 Lebanese). Ugh.

    Anyway, all's well that ends well. Now waiting for the Oath letter!!

    Finally done with everything but one last step of Oath. Here is my interview experience:

    I had my interview scheduled for 9.20. Reached at 9.07 and was asked to wait till they call my name. Waited, waited and was finally called in at 10.10. Officer told me it will take around 20mins for the interview but I was done in 10. Before we sat down, he asked to raise my right hand and take pledge to tell the truth. He took my passport and GC from me. He asked about discrepancy in my middle name on my application and passport. Then we went over the application with him asking standard questions - address, wife's name, phone number, travel, when I came to US, part of any terrorist organization, communist party, arrested etc. In the end, he asked me to sign my name on the application and on the photos. Then he asked to me read a sentence - I smiled when I looked at the sentence - "We are having fun". The questions I was asked were:

    - Why 100 Senators?

    - Who is the vice-president?

    - Who is the commander-in-chief of US military?

    - What is the head executive of city government called?

    - What is the highest court in US?

    - What is the national anthem?

    - What is the constitution?

    - Can constitution be changed?

    - What do we celebrate on 4th of July?

    - For how long is the President elected?

    Then he asked me to write this sentence - "You drink too much coffee"

    After that he said, Congratulations, you have passed, you will have to Oath ceremony letter in 1-2 months.

    I feel so much relieved after this whole ordeal of visa, GC and Citizenship. It's good I don't have to go thru this again. Thanks everyone for your help.

    Just to let you all know that I passed !!!!The whole interview was about 15 minutes she spent most of the time asking the questions on the N-400 that I sent ,then she went to ask me the 5 question and then told me to write "They are a very happy family" !!Then she gave me a letter sayong that I passed and said that it could be around September my Oath ,it could be before but likely September and that I should receive a letter 3 weeks before.

    The questions were ,the minimum vote age, when do we elect for president, who is the vice president ,how many stars are in our flag and I don't remeber the last one.Thank you all and I will update when I get my letter.

    Congratulations. Mine is on Thursday. Hopefully it goes as smooth as yours.

    N-400 90 day rule confusion

    Hello,

    N-400 states that one can apply for naturalization up to 90 days before meeting the continuous residence requirement. I'm currently in the process of applying 2 months before my 5 years is up. (So I'm OK) But, I'm not sure which option I need to choose between the following two listed on the application:

    "I have been a Lawful Permanent Resident of the US for at least five years." --> Is the answer to this question "Yes" for people applying in the 90-day window? In my case, this is not technically true at the time of the application since the answer is 4 years and 10 months.

    Other (Please explain): --> Is this a better option to check and mention the 90-day rule??

    Also, the application has two questions in the "Time outside the US section":

    -How many trips of 24 hours or more have you taken outside of the United States during the past five years?

    -List below all the trips of 24 hours or more that you have taken outside of the United States since becoming a Lawful Permanent Resident

    I have taken a trip outside the US before becoming a permanent resident which was technically in the last 5 years. Do I include that trip? (it was actually for consular processing.)

    I would check the option for 5 year and not mention anything about 90 day rule. USCIS is aware of the 90 day rule. For trips, I included all the trips in last 5 years including the time when I was on F1 visa.

    here is my timeline: I sent my N400 application to VSC in 04/05/2008 ,my PD is 04/08/2008. I got my FP done in 04/29/2008 and received my IL yesterday . The IL is dated 06/02/2008. My interwiew and oath are in 07/29/2008 in NEWARK.

    Do you have your interview and oath scheduled on the same day?

    No Touch After Biometrics

    When we did the I-751, our case was touched after biometrics. We did the biometrics for the N-400 on 4/29/08, but were never touched. Called the FBI today and they confirmed that they sent the prints back to USCIS that same day.

    Is it normal not to be touched?

    How did you contact FBI? Just curious bcos I did not know one can contact FBI for fingerprint check.
