I digitized everything. Have kept some originals that cannot be replaced .. But yes it’s hard to shred all that isn’t it !!!

That is smart! I guess I will just have to go through my old laptop and make sure I have the PDF versions of the forms before shredding some documents. I do not look forward to that process. lol

If you're not home to sign, it might be held at your Post Office for you to come sign for it.  Your postal carrier should leave a green or yellow (?) notice in your mailbox or on your door.

If this topic doesn't get adequate answers in this Off Topic forum, we might move it to the Europe/Eurasia regional forum so that more Italians might see it.

The post office here is pretty good, but since the mail is sent internationally, I just wanted to have a rough timeline because I need to use these documents pretty soon.

Thank you so much for offering to move this post to the forums mentioned above. It may help me to get better answers from Europeans or Italians.  Thank you!

  3. Hello everyone,

I already completed the naturalization process a while back, and I was wondering what to do with old documents.

I was thinking about maybe I should shred most of them, and then save some and see if I need it for anything later.

I do not want to have lots of documents with me as I will move somewhere else soon, and possibly move to Europe later for a while.

So, how did you deal with your old documents? Any advice on this?

    Thanks guys! Happy Friday!

  4. I need to receive important documents, and I just wanted to know if anyone here sent a registered mail (raccomandata) from Italy to the US before.

Unfortunately, I was not given a tracking number by the sender. I have requested to have the tracking number a few times, but my request was ignored.

I need those documents pretty soon, so it would be great if anyone could share the timeline here.

When I receive the document, do I have to sign it myself? Or can other people receive and sign for me?

Thank you so much for your help!
