  1. Hello everyone, A lot has changed since we submitted the i-130 last year. Now, we are in the NVC process and my spouse will be interviewed in Vietnam. However, since June or July this year, Vietnam has merge some provinces. As a result, my spouse current address is changed from Binh Thuan province to Lam Dong province. When submitting i864, do I use the new province name instead of the previous one? Will that cause issue? I appreciate any inputs. thank you!
  2. Can I include the job offer letter and current paystubs? My total income for 2024 is about $29,500. My current salary is $3000/ a month or 36,000 a year. Will they consider my current income if ai submit the job offer letter and current paystubs?
  3. Thank you for the inputs. I figured out that the income we should put is the Total Income which mine is around $29,500. If after we submitted the documents to NVC, will they let us know if we need joint sponsor and let us submit the joint sponsor’s i864? Or it will be at the interview that they request joint sponsor?
  4. Hello everyone, I am in the process of working on my I-864 since we’ve just got a welcome letter from NVC and paid the feee. My income for 2024 Tax Return is $27025. My income for 2023 is also around $27,000 while 2022 is $36,000. My current income is $36,000/year as I started a new job in March. I know my income in my latest tax return meets the minimum 125% Requirement. However, I heard that even if the petitioner’s income meet the minimum requirement, NVC may requests additional documentation or request a joint sponsor later, which will delay the process. Should this be an issue or should I get a joint sponsor for ease of mind? I don’t want to delay the process and is asked to have a joint sponsor at the interview. Thank you! I appreciate everyone’s feedback.
  5. Hi everyone I am currently helping a friend fill out the online N-400 form. Friend is a manicurist, however, the online form doesn't give me that option when filling out the employment history. It gives a list of different occupations such as: - Architectural Occupations - Artist/Writer/Athlete/Entertainer - Business/Management/Marketing - Construction/Skilled Trades - Counselors, Education/vocation - Editors, Publication, Broadcast, and script - Environmental, Product, and related designers - Executive, Admin, Managerial - Faring/Forestry/Fishing - Food Services/Hospitality - Health Diagnosing Occupations - Health Technologist/Technician - I.T. Software Development - Lawyers and Judges - Logistics/Transportation - Military - Natural Scientists - Occupation Not Reported/Unknown/Invalid - Occupations in Athletics and Sports - Occupation in Data Communications and Networks - Operators /Fabricators/Laborers - Precision Production/Craft/Rep - Public Relations Management Occupations - Sales and Distribution Management Occupations - Sales and Distribution Management occupation - Security/Protective Services - Social/Recreation/religious Work - Wholesale and Retail trade managers and officials My thought would be - Operators /Fabricators/Laborers since it's some kind of labor work. What are your thoughts? I remember the online version used to have a place for us to fill out manually for the occupation, but now I have to select one but the category is so broad. Thank you!
  6. Hi everyone, I’m in the process of filing I-130 for my spouse. He is a Vietnamese citizen but currently working in Taiwan and planning to come back to Vietnam next year. My question is can he be interviewed at US Embassy in Vietnam? What is the difference between applying for an immigration visa in Vietnam versus Taiwan? When filing for I130 online, it asks to provide the location of US embassy that we wish to apply for an immigrant visa but further warns that it doesn’t guarantee the case will be accepted if we provide the location of the US embassy in a country different than the last residence. As follow: "At which U.S. Embassy or Consulate location will the beneficiary apply for an immigrant visa?" "Choosing a U.S. Embassy or U.S. Consulate outside of the country of the beneficiary's last residence does not guarantee that it will accept the beneficiary's case for processing. In these situations, the designated U.S. Embassy or U.S. Consulate has discretion over whether or not to accept the beneficiary's case" He is living in Taiwan, does that mean he may or may not be able to interview/apply for an immigration visa in Vietnam? I'm a little confused. Please help.
  7. Thanks for your replies. Another question is: since he is currently living in Taiwan, but he is a Vietnamese citizen and plan to apply or interview in Vietnam, in question "At which U.S. Embassy or Consulate location will the beneficiary apply for an immigrant visa?" Choosing a U.S. Embassy or U.S. Consulate outside of the country of the beneficiary's last residence does not guarantee that it will accept the beneficiary's case for processing. In these situations, the designated U.S. Embassy or U.S. Consulate has discretion over whether or not to accept the beneficiary's case. Can I just put Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam? since his last residence is in Taiwan, can the U.S embassy in Vietnam deny his case? I'm just not quite sure if "Choosing a U.S. Embassy or U.S. Consulate outside of the country of the beneficiary's last residence does not guarantee that it will accept the beneficiary's case for processing." apply in this case.
  8. Hi everyone, I’m filing i-130A for my spouse who is currently working in Taiwan but he is of Vietnamese citizen. When they ask for the physical address for the last 5 years, do I put his work address in Taiwan since he stays at the company’s dorm or do I put his permanent address in Vietnam? He plans to reside from the company in a year or so, we just don’t want to miss any noticed coming from uscis if they will send him notices to his physical address. Also, does USCIS send notices via mail to spouse beneficiary oversea? Thank you!
