I wasn't sure what RSO stood for but where I am in the UK I popped into one of the offices that deals with Pass & ID and they had an office there that did fingerprinting and for external reasons like this. However due to the shutdown, the people who do it are furloughed so not available. I have booked an appointment for the first week of November and hoping that they'll be back by then -
Hi - I have submitted my N400 a couple of weeks ago from the UK as my spouse is living here and working for DODEA which is an approved employer to apply from the UK. USCIS have sent me a notification saying I need biometrics to proceed further and to arrange getting my fingerprints taken on an FD-258 card and to contact the US embassy or a US military base as there are no USCIS offices in the UK. Has anyone had to do this and made arrangements to do so? I am planning to contact the embassy tomorrow and as my spouse works on a US military base I am going to contact them also tomorrow. I am struggling to find any information online that confirms exactly what I need to do. Thanks

No problem at all. I was the same where the Garda emailed me the certificate. I just printed that off and sent it down to the embassy and it was fine for me. I did think the same as you though and was hoping the print off would be ok and it was thankfully.

Hi Anthony. Everything got done reasonably quickly in the end. I didn’t hear anything at all other than a couple of status changes and then all approved. Then I got the email/contact to arrange collecting the passport. I can’t exactly remember timescales but it was done by the end of august. I then had to pay an USCIS immigration fee of $235 and then arrange entry to the US by the date in my visa which for me was a date in November. hope that helps. richard

Hi all - I was approved for my IR1 visa last week and thankfully have my passport. My plan is to travel to the US on 30th September. I am just curious as to what actually happens when I land at immigration control. I understand I am given some more forms to complete. Struggling to find more info other than that Thanks in advance

Hi all - I had my interview at the embassy in London on 10th June 2024. At the interview they stated I needed an additional police certificate for somewhere I lived before I was 18. I was born in Ireland and lived there for 4 years. I still only have an Irish passport but live in the UK so they said I needed the certificate as I was an Irish national. I got this but it took a few weeks to get it and sent it down with my passport as they requested by courier last week. The tracking shows they received this on friday 26th July. Since then, no updates other than the DS260 tracking still says refused but also shows it was last updated on 26th July. Any ideas on processing times for additional documents being processed as I can't find anything. I'm just a bit concerned that it still says refused with an updated date of last friday. Thanks

Thanks for sharing everything. I have my interview on 10th June and this is helpful to know the whole experience. I am really interested to hear how long it takes for your passport to be delivered. We have had flights booked for 17th June and I know its super tight for myself but optimistic!!!

Hi - I was DQ on 25th March 2024 and am waiting eagerly for my appointment at the embassy. Can anyone tell me how we get notified of the appointment - is it by letter or email? I am hoping to find out within the next week or 2. Also - from anyone else's experiences, how long did it take to get the notification of appointment Many thanks in advance

Hi - I have a valid ESTA and travelled to the US from the UK last summer for a 4 week holiday, whilst in the early stages of the IR1 application. At that time we were told travel was fine providing we had proof of UK residence - i.e. mortgage statement. This year we are planning on the same trip in June but are at the DQ stage and waiting for Interview appointment at the London Embassy. Does anyone know if I can still travel on my ESTA if we cannot get an appointment before we are planning on going? All the information I have seen suggests that I do not travel until everything is all approved. Thanks in advance
