So just an update. I travelled from London to Boston as a connecting flight to Portland OR, with my expired green card (expired over the 24 month extension), with the I-797 receipt notice in hand. Officers were extremely diligent and friendly in questioning me and sent me to a room to await for my issue to be resolved. All I can say is I have not had a more pleasant experience with the Boston CBP. I was permitted in. Thank you again and headed for my biometrics appt!l

I have a copy of my I-797 notice, both on paper and electronic copy. Is either ok to use when presenting this to an agent at the airport?

Hey there! I have an expired green card and had to fly to the UK on a legal matter. I applied to renew GC, and will receive a biometrics appointment notice, just awaiting for it to come. Will my passport, expired green card and the letter be enough at this point?

Good morning VJers! A quick question I am hoping one of you might know. I applied to renew my 10 year GC, and I received a ‘receive your biometrics appointment notice’ note on my acct. I am currently on vacation in England, and won’t be back in America until end of August. Will this now be delayed or can I visit a UK embassy to get this done? I’ve tried to contact the USCIS, but cannot find how to send a message or the right tool to use for communicating. Can anyone help?
