1/05/08 - N-400 sent to NSC

1/10/08 - NSC cashes check

1/16/08 - Received NOA1 for N-400. Notice (NOA1) states we should expect to be notified within 450 days. Glad that fee increase gave us the results the USCIS promised!

Yeah. They're really looking out for us.

My timeline:

Sometime Dec 07: mailed N400 to NSC

12/26/07: received date

1/26/08: fingerprinted

my notice paper said "expect to be notified within 180 days" so does that mean they'd process mine in 180days just becuz I sent my application less than a month before you?

Mailed N400: Middle of December, 2007

N400 Received date: 12/26/07

Fingerprint done: 1/26/08

I filed at NSC, I wonder anyone filed around my timeframe?? Any prediction as to when my interview will be?

The I-797C, Notice of Action says "you will be notified of the date and place of your interview when you have been scheduled by the local USCIS office. You should expect to be notified within 180 days of this notice. (notice date 1/2/08)

But when I called USCIS, they told me the timeframe is now 16-18 months (same as shown on uscis.gov)

Also, I saw some people mentioned about the FBI name check, how do I find out whether my name is cleared? by calling USCIS???
