Think this is where I would put this but no idea as haven't been on here in ages oopsies...anywayyyy hubby has to do his renewal I believe before February/March 2011 so we want to get it done asap so we don't incur any late fees or hassle (hassle with immigration? impossible right? haha)....
So is there anything special we should know/do? We had our first baby in March so I would hope that would be enough "proof" for them that our relationship is still legit hahaha....
Thanks!
Steph

He would be a British Citizen.
I would suggest he gets his America one before moving back, save a lot of hassle if you change your mind.
Why would he want to give up his British Citizenship if we were planning on moving back to the UK?! He has his US Greencard already.....
Thanks for the sites folks will check them out!

Gareth (English citizen) and I have been toying with the idea of moving to England in a few years...has anyone gone through this process? Is it easier/harder then what we had to go through to bring him here? This is nothing we have 100% decided on but we are def considering it for down the road....
Gareth plans on keeping his England citizenship but myself and our children are American citizens...
Thanks for any input

All approved!!!
Had our interview today at 1130 in Detroit. The drive took 3 hours....waited prob around 20 minutes...got called back and whole thing took maybe 10 minutes LOL! We got a super nice older guy who used the words groovy and groove a lot hahaha! He did not ask for one single thing we brought along. In fact he did not ask me really anything at all! He just went down a list asking if Gareth was involved in any gangs and if he was planning on practicing polygamy etc...hahaha! So easy. Then we did our 3 hour drive back home! Sooo tired.
Gareth should have greencard in 4 to 6 weeks he said.
Oh and as far as what to wear we wore jeans and tshirts with tattoos all showing haha....

DOH found my answer if I would have just read the pinned topics first hahaha
If the beneficiary's vaccinations were COMPLETED as part of the visa process, IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO INCLUDE FORM I-693 IN THE AOS SUBMISSION. All your medical information is enclosed in the brown envelope which was handed in at the POE. The envelope is then forwarded on to USCIS where it will be consolidated with the I-485 submission, once received. If you received a copy of the Vaccination Documentation Worksheet (Form DS-3025) from your Panel Physician, you may include a copy of that form in your AOS submission in place of Form I-693.
Thanks anyway all!

Hey everyone long time no post from us...
anyway we are so confused...on here it is saying that yes we need it....but then we called nearest civil surgeon and they are saying Gareth would have to go for 3 visits total and it would cost just under $400! Ummmm we already paid for his medical in London so this is why we are confused....
Then we read I-693 instructions and it said that if he came on K1 and it was within 1 year (he just got here in October) then we did NOT need it but then went on saying we need portions of it filled out including a part filled out by civil surgeon?!
Gareth than rang immigration services and they said he did not need it and to explain at the interview?!
At this point in the game no way will we even be able to get it if we do end up needing it but we are just wanting some sort of clarification. Wouldn't this form be in the sealed packet already he turned in upon entering the US?!
What will they most likely do to us if we do not have this form? Hopefully just put us in pending or something until we get it turned in?
OY VEY I am so ready for this stuff to be OVER!!!!
Thanks for any help!

Just popping in to wish all luck that are still waiting on approvals and interviews! We still haven't heard anything on EAD or AP...I was just assuming we would not get until after interview now but noticing other peoples timelines I see that is not always the case! So here's hoping we get something in the post otherwise we are just hanging tight for our interview in May

Ooh good luck Court and Grey! Please let us know how it went and what was asked etc....!

Oh just for those wondering here is what Gareth's biometrics consisted of....
1st time- went there....one other couple was there. Couldn't bring in cellphones and such just ran and plopped in car. He filled out a form...had all fingerprints taken and a photo that was it...took like 10 mins total!
2nd time- (unusual but we had to send forms seperate since he forgot to sign one for working haha! so we got a second biometrics out of it)...went in and again was one other family waiting working on their form....he filled out a form again. Lady asked if he hadn't just been there a week or two ago (we had). She laughed and did just 2 fingerprints and one picture. Took maybe 5 to 10 mins again haha.
Easy Peasy

Ooh yes Rachel Jamba Juice is so good! And Target is one of my faves!!!
Cecile I hear ya on houses looking the same and boring! That is called American suburbs for the most part haha! What stinks in our area is it is hard to get a 2 story house under 100,000 and we are just not digging the single floor ranch style house which I have a feeling we may end up in :/ Dang economy haha....we will be in our apartment at least another year though.

I'm glad you had fun on vacation! Was the French Quarter very French?
Not really. The name of the streets are in French, some restaurants/bars/other social places have a "French name" but 3 times out of 4 it's either spelled wrong or doesn't mean anything (or maybe it's just because it's the Creole language and not French?). But in itself it looked more like a city in Europe than in the USA. The houses looked old and elegant, and there was almost no chain stores or restaurants inside the French quarter. It was nice to not see Walmart or Target when we were in the French Quarter (or course Walgreens and MacDonalds and other places were all around the French Quarter
)
LOL yeah Gareth and I were just talking last night how annoying how every city in America seems to have all the same stores and fast food chains etc....blech

Just popping in to let everyone know we got the dreaded interview. Oh well we know we are legit so if they want to waste their time on us so be it! Gives us a little road trip since we have to go to Detroit for it. We don't have it until May 6th so weather will be nice too.
Rachel LOVE the shelves! I was just telling Gareth how I need to mapquest to see how far Ikea is from the interview location tee hee! We love us some shelving! We have insane amounts of dvds as well! Books not so much since I do tend to donate those.
-
Hi everyone just popping on to say hello and let you all know we just received our letter today for an interview...blah...oh well gives us a trip over to Detroit haha. We have to go May 6th for the interview.
-
Ok is it even USCIS I enter our receipt number into at this point LOL? Our number starts with MSC....
thanks again
Hey Steph! I think you'll need to enter them in separate but not positive as ours still isn't showing in their system. We received our NOA's and the transfer to CSC letter for the AOS but no bio appt. yet.
Hmm yeah the first one I tried did not work...but then again we haven't gotten any letters saying our case was transferred to them either LOL....oh well we will keep on waiting! At least we have the biometrics done so now it is pretty much all up to them.

Hey everyone well Gareth had his biometrics today. Took us well over an hour to get there (got lost and stressed so that was fun haha) finally got there right on time pretty much...took maybe 5 minutes for him to do a form, get picture taken, and fingerprinted. And all done.
If I put in just one of our case numbers on USCIS will that show status of all 3 things we sent in or do we put them each in seperate?
Thanks

Cool Dbears thanks for the info on the cards and such! I really don't mind if we have an interview all that matters is he gets the card and such in the end!
-
Well we got Gareth's Biometrics scheduled for Friday Feb 6th (same as you Andy and Maricar!) was surprised we have it so quick but am def happy this process seems to be going decent for us!
Do we get actual notification once AOS/EAD/ and such are all approved then (besides the NOA2 thing for them?). Will he get actual cards or something?
Thanks!

Hi guys just popping in to check on everyone's progress thus far! Looks like most of us are moving along quite nicely! YAY! We just got our letter today stating Gareth has his biometrics next Friday Feb 6th! Pretty cool! We are also pleased it is only like an hour away as opposed to several hours away like I first thought!
Now for the cold and snow and ice to go away for good so I can get him his drivers permit and start teaching him my poor driving skills heh heh! Poor guy must feel trapped but at least we have a nice pub in walking distance
-
Just wanted to pop in and wish you all good luck!!! We were January 2008 filers
-
Just wanted to pop in.... I am sure our package has arrived but haven't had time to check it and now of course that I am thinking about it the receipt I need to use to track it is at home not at work here with me LOL....oh well will maybe remember tomorrow....
Good luck all! I still need to bring Gareth to get a picture id (we aren't doing the driving thing until spring since he doesn't have really any driving experience so told him he is not practicing in my car in the winter no way! hahaaha). He got his SSN no probs so that was easy enough. Now let's hope all the rest of the journey goes as easy

Hey SHES good to see familiar people
as for the intended travel dates Gareth just put in open and then put in that he would like to go to the UK if there were any family bereavements etc before he got his official greencard...hopefully that will do!
