I found this about them coming into USA while waiting for I-130. So this does not apply ? Can my child come to the United States to live while the visa petition is pending? If you are a U.S. citizen, once you file Form I-130, your child is eligible to apply for a nonimmigrant K-4 visa. This will entitle him or her to come to the United States to live and work or go to school while the visa petition is pending. To petition for this benefit, you may file Form I-129F. However, you are not required to file Form I-129F and your child does not require a K-4 visa. Your child may wait abroad for immigrant visa processing. Seeking a K-4 visa can be a method for him or her to come to the United States more quickly. For more information, see the “K3-K4 Visa” page. If you are a lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder) and you have filed Form I-130 for your child on or before December 21, 2000, your child may be eligible for the V visa classification if more than three years have passed since the I-130 was filed. For more information on V visas, see the V Nonimmigrant Visas page. For more information, visit the Adjustment of Status within the United States page and Consular Processing overseas page.

Thank you for your response, Crazy Cat. That's my confusion - his legal status. No, he's in Canada. I've been diving around various threads in VJ and in .gov sites and came across that one thread that talked about doing both if he was here. I just didn't see how that would work if it's supposed to take 10 years. I will drive around some more and see if I can find it again. I saw that there are only 23,000 visas for this F1 group and many more for every other group like 100,000 more for one other. I don't see the sense in any of this . I think I also saw the employment visas were moving along much more swiftly. What is a parent to do to bring our family back together again. ??

Good day all. I've been reading the guides etc for bringing my adult son into the USA after becoming a naturalized citizen myself last year. I am very sad to see that this process could take up to 10 years or longer ? I found a thread differentiating between adult son/daughter that are already here ?? I believe it said that they file a I-485 for a green card and I file the I-130 as his sponsor. I can't seem to find more confirmation of this process. Can anyone shed further light on this ? Can He be in the USA living and working while we wait the 10+ years ? Thanks so much,

Hi again Case status update Aug 6. (interview was Jun 11 where I was told I was approved but I was sent to quality review) Oath ceremony was mailed. Checked docs online. USCIS N-445 is a 4 page doc telling you what to bring, to dress appropriately and instructions on how to answer the questions on page 3 & 4. My actual oath ceremony is scheduled for Oct 17 in Eugene OR. 4 1/2 hour drive. I guess better than Portland which would be at least double that. Good Luck ! -

I changed my name to my new married name 12 years ago when we got married. No other name changes. No other docs pending. Its been six weeks now since my interview when I was told I was approved. No change in status. No oath ceremony date/letter. sigh -

No... I have not received my oath notice. Still stuck in the land of "quality review". -
Quality Review ?

Your case is being reviewed....along with their process. It is normal procedure. Anything odd about your case? Nothing odd. Fiance visa to green card. 10 yr green card expiring this year. Decided to apply for citizenship. Still married to same person. Been in USA total of 12 years now. Easy interview. Interviewer said I was approved and would be receiving my oath ceremony date shortly. Then the notification that my file sent for quality review. -
Quality Review ?
HereWeGoAgainV2.0 posted a topic in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports
June 24, 2024 Case Was Submitted For Quality Review Based On An Approval Recommendation We recommended that your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, Receipt Number IOxxxxxxxxxxx, be approved. On June 24, 2024, your case was submitted for quality review. This is a standard process we use to ensure the quality of our decisions. Once our quality review is done you will be scheduled for an oath ceremony. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address. So I'm approved ? But not approved and stuck ? Why does an internal review of their processes and people cause a delay of my application ? My interview date was June 11th. IO told me I was approved and I would be receiving oath ceremony letter next. sigh -

My status has been updated to "Case was submitted for Quality Review based on an approval recommendation". I see others who were approved at their interview and received oath ceremony date. WTH ? It goes on to say "this is a standard process we use to ensure the quality of our decisions" Thoughts ?? -

March online app. Scheduled for interview June 11. Processing by Portland Oregon field office (7 hours away), but interview scheduled at Medford library location (3 1/2 hrs away). Sworn in. Confirm basic info like name/address/birthdate etc. Answer civics questions first. I believe six. I got them correct and he stopped asking questions. Read one sentence. Write one sentence. More N400 app questions/confirms and signing (mainly security questions like have you ever committed crimes etc). Sign that I understand what is required at oath ceremony (what you are swearing to uphold). Told I passed and a letter will be issued scheduling the oath ceremony. He did advise that after oath my green card is surrendered and a certificate issued for citizenship. Then I am free to register to vote, apply for US passport. etc. Very cordial. Not intimidating at all. 20-30 minutes. I had all original docs with me that were submitted online. He did not ask to see any original evidence. Good luck ! -

Hi all. Filed on-line Mar 28. Marriage based green card from 2012. Received a receipt (Form I-797C Notice of Action) and "reuse of biometrics" within a couple of days of application. Notice Date May 9th they have scheduled my interview for June 11. I am an Oregon filer. I am in southern Oregon. The Portland Field Office is working my file. My interview is in the Medford Jackson County Library (2 1/2 hrs away). Better than Portland which is about 6-7 hours away. They list items to bring in the letter. The items that apply to me are: the interview letter green card passport marriage cert spouse birth cert originals of docs that I submitted online to support my N400 application Good luck to all ! -

Did the tax transcript add. What is a combo interview ? -
Honestly, the further I go the more confused I get. My GC expires at the end of the year. I started the online app in March. I answered the online eligibility questions, uploaded the required evidence and tried to re-create my VJ info from 10+ years ago because I couldn't find it anymore. The more I read the more confused I get. Some people say the more extra evidence you provide the smoother the approval process goes. So I read the USCIS N-400 Instructions for App for Naturalization and have been working through the "documents to bring with you to your interview". You could be right I may fall into the 5 year "easy" category because we've been married for over 11 years now. But as I said, the further I go I can't remember where I read stuff and can't put my fingers on previous notes etc. and end up chasing myself around. I just realized the bank we deal with only puts the Primary name of our bank accounts on our statements. These accounts have been joint since we moved here almost nine years ago and now I see they are actually useless for immigration as they don't show as JOINT. Ridiculous. Should I get a letter from bank along with our signature cards proving the accounts have been joint since 2015 ? For every step forward I seem to take 3 steps back. Our house purchase deed chose the legal address. I can't find the simple legal address anywhere to assist with simple proof of residence. I do have water and heat etc. But sheesh !!! I'm sorry for not being a whiz with this system either. Had trouble with the "quote" thing.

Thanks everyone. I am filing under 3 yr as a spouse of US citizen. (Don't know what a I-751 is) Married since 2012. I have already uploaded all the "imortant stuff" but was reading the list of "Below is a list of documents to bring with you to your Form N-400 interview" and thought it would be helpful to upload more for their review ahead of time ? I guess I confused everyone by my timeline responses. But K1 was what I originally applied for. I did fill in all the other timeline info on my bio page. I guess that's harder to see ? I have had Perm Res Card (no Conditions) since Dec 2014. Should I put that on timeline instead ? What is the correct acronym for that ? Again sorry for confusion.

I am going to add extra evidence such as three years joint bank account statements / investment account statements. The full statements are several pages long. Would it be sufficient to just upload the first page showing the institution and account numbers and the fact that the accounts are jointly held - and provide 36 months of these ? If each statement is 5 -10 pages long it could be 360 pages instead, and I'm worried about size of .jpg at that point as there are size limits. Thoughts ?

Did anyone attach EXTRA evidence to their March filing ? If so, what did you attach ? Did anyone attach EXTRA evidence to their March filing ? If so, what did you attach ? -
Hello Feb filers ! Did anyone submit EXTRA evidence ? The last question before the REVIEW app. In pressing the NEXT button I get the scary yellow box reminder saying I could be slowing down by application. I have uploaded all my required evidence, but I am not sure what EXTRA would be recommended. Any suggestions of what they are looking for to speed things along and smooth the waters here ? I am a March filer.

Oh my gosh ! Thank you so much. Yes, back in the day I was a paper filer. Lots and lots and lots of paper. lol And this time I thought if I signed up for an online account and went that route then surely I was assigned a number once I signed up for an online account. I didn't realize it happened AFTER I submit. Thank you thank you for clarifying that. It was driving me crazy that I couldn't find it. Much appreciate your time. As always this site and it's members rock !

Thank you for your quick response. I have uploaded 2 photos of the page. They do ask for my A number which I have supplied. But they also ask for my USCIS Online Account Number. This is the number I can not find anywhere. It does not make sense to tick the box that I don't have one because I am signed on to the USCIS system and am filling in the N400 form online so I must have a USCIS Online Account Number. This is also the page that references the "profile" page that is somewhere on my account page. I must be blind because I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know where it is ?

Hi All. Back after a long absence. My GC is expiring end of this year. Decided to go for citizenship. Decided to go with online route instead of paper. Have completed about 98% now. One page asks me for my USCIS # even though I'm clearly signed on to their system filling in their application. Sigh. I have looked everywhere on my account page and can not locate it anywhere. I have read in the online guides. It says to locate it on my profile page. Can not find such a page. Tried to phone and reach a USCIS agent. The computer just hangs up on me repeatedly. Ridiculous. Can anyone light the way here ?
