  1. Hello everyone! For context, my fiancé (U.S. citizen) and I (French citizen) are trying to get me a K-1 visa. Our I-129F petition was approved last month and the NVC assigned us our case number on April 9. Based on what I read on the forum, for K-1 applications, the NVC doesn't do anything besides assigning a case number and then forwarding the case to the Embassy. While some embassies have to request new cases for the NVC to send them, my Embassy (Paris) told me that they don't need to request cases and that the NVC just sends them as they arrive. So why hasn't the NVC shipped my case yet? Is there a limit to the number of cases that can be shipped every two weeks and therefore a waiting line for those ready to ship? I am in desperate search of a rationale here... Thank you in advance for any insights!
  2. Still no change of CEAC status on my end Stuck in "At NVC". It must have been another case they sent to the Paris Embassy. I still don't understand why it is taking them so long (longer than the two weeks that we could expect) to ship the cases once the NVC number has been assigned. I tried sending another public inquiry but their replies are generic and irrelevant. So at least another two-week cycle to wait...
  3. Hi all! I used the DHL hack and saw that this morning a file was shipped to Paris, so I'm hoping it's mine 😊 My CEAC status is still "At NVC" though - if it is indeed my file, then how long should it take for the status to update to "In transit"? Thank you!
  4. @hplusj Another thing I haven't managed to figure out is whether: - our cases are automatically scheduled to be sent out on NVC's next shipment to Embassies as soon as they assign us a number - OR there is an intermediary step between receiving a case number and being sent to the Embassies, step during which NVC has to "documentarily qualify" our cases. On this forum I have read both versions: some people saying that there is no intermediary step whatsoever since the NVC's only role is to assign a case number; vs. other people that have been waiting for months since receiving a case number and their cases still haven't been shipped to the Embassies...
  5. Update (can't edit the above message): Found a few threads on VisaJourney that say that K-1 applicants actually don't need to log onto the CEAC portal and should just wait to be notified that our case has been shipped to the embassy. I guess I was confused by the instructions from the PDF in the first post of the thread! 😅
  6. Thank you for your reply! I am doing the same - the NVC sent me the case number after a public inquiry and I was able to submit the DS-160. The only thing is I can't log onto the CEAC portal because the NVC hasn't given me an "invoice ID number" (which is required when I select the "immigrant visa" category, following the advice on this forum); did you find a way to log on?
  7. Good evening! After submitting a public inquiry, I got the following message from NVC: "The NVC recently received your immigrant visa petition from USCIS. Your petition is now waiting for data entry into our systems." I'll send in another public inquiry in 8-10 days' time and hopefully they should have created our case number by then. So now my question is, for those who are obtaining their NVC case number early on by submitting a public inquiry: are you filing DS-160 as soon as you get the case number? Or are you waiting to receive the Welcome Letter before filing? Are there any advantages to filing it early on (e.g. can it accelerate the administrative process)? Thanks again and good luck to everyone with the whole process 🍀
  8. We received our NOA2 today, only 172 days after filing ☺️ Any idea if there is an estimate of the NVC's current processing time (from the moment when they create the case until the moment when they transfer the file to the national embassy)? I looked around various websites and they state various waiting times ranging from a few weeks to 7 months... 😵‍💫 Thank you in advance, and looking forward to seeing everyone's progression here!
