  1. I have a question about a recent email inquiry experience. I sent an email to request the status and to confirm the receipt of our DS-5535 form. My previous email about receipt of the DS-5535 form got a template response but did not answer whether they have received the DS-5535 form or not. This time I got a more human response confirming the receipt of the DS-5535 form but then had the same template response about not being able to predict when the processing will be complete. However, this time my Case's Last Updated date did not change even after a response to my email. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Also, 7 months down...
  2. Great work. Thank you very much for streamlining the tracker.
  3. When did you have your interview and when did you submit the 5535? Also, can you kindly fill out the spreadsheet for the benefit of all of us to follow the trends of the consulate?
  4. I have been filing joint taxes with my spouse for a couple of years now. We got her ITIN number. As you said, she has been here more often than she is in Canada. But we also file taxes over in Canada to be on the safe side. Not sure if we will file in Canada this year since she did not work in Canada at all last year.
  5. @Daft_Cat had an interview in February of 2023 and got a request for a second medical last month. I see you also had your interview in February of 2023. The only difference I see is that Daft filed a WOM and you didn't. I hope you get an update soon.
  6. Congratulations. Very happy for you. I hope we get back to that timeline with MTL which seems not the case right now since it takes 12-14 months to get a new medical request. I am happy that you got through without WOM. I am hoping we don't have to go through the WOM route. I read a few court opinions where the Judge said that a delay of 4 years or more since the DQ would be considered unreasonable on a Motion to Dismiss which is a bunch of BS.
  7. Today is the six-month anniversary of my wife's interview. Based on the timelines shared here. It seems it could take another six months. This process is so messed up.
  8. Is there a way we can find out how many 221(g) rejections Montreal is giving out? Like do they keep and share any statistics?
  9. Why would they ask for a resume? Also, five months since we submitted Form 5535.
  10. I sent an email on February 23rd and got a reply today. They did not answer my question which was whether they have received our Form 5535. Below was their response which is pretty generic. "Hello, Thank you for your inquiry. Your case was refused under section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act and is currently under administrative processing. As soon as the administrative processing is complete, the Visa Unit will advise of the next steps if anything else is needed to complete processing the case. We realize that these extended time periods cause frustration to many individuals, and we are sensitive to the fact that the purpose of the immigrant visa program is to facilitate legitimate travel to the U.S. Nonetheless, the Consulate in Montreal, like all U.S. Embassies and Consulates, must adjudicate visas in accordance with the provisions of the law, and, in some cases, this involves extensive consular review and administrative processing. While we cannot predict when the processing of your visa will be completed, please be assured that the Consulate and the State Department are aware of your concerns and will contact you as soon as the processing is complete. We hope that this information is helpful in replying to your inquiry. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance."
