I hope all is fine, for I've lost touch with so many, Lisa, Jackie, Kenza, Amanda and the rest of the lovely ladies and gents here.

Wishing you all a wonderful Sunday!!! im off to celebrate my 45th birthday with friends.

  5. Morning!

I have the day off- and I am SO GLAD I was home this morning because the EMBASSY CALLED. I posted the whole story on the AP forum, but to tell it short, they called to make sure I was still involved in the relationship (yes for sure!) as it has been a while since the interview. They need to finish up some things- I am PRAYING that this is GOOD news and that we are very close to having AP end. :D

It was an exciting phone call for me, that is for sure. Wish I could have taped it. Of course, I called Ghassan right away- today being his birthday and all- so we are hopeful this is all for the good insha'Allah. (what do you all think?)

Other than that-going to some MLK celebration thing tonight.

    Take care!

    Baj

Good afternoon Gang!!! Hope all is well, be safe and take care.

  6. Thanks everyone. I just called the DOS (this will probably be a weekly occurrence, sigh) to inquire and she said that the case was still on AP. I asked her what exactly was happening, if it was embassy-initiated or something else, and she said she didn't really know, but that it was internal. I'm a bit confused as to what her answer meant, but I suppose the end result is that she's still on AP. I already wrote my congressman about this and hopefully they can apply a bit of pressure to get this done, but I know that in the end, it's just going to be a waiting game.

hahahaha No joke, sister. I think we've been in step for every leg of the process--you got approved by USCIS like two weeks after me, got through NVC around when I did, and had an interview when I did. Let's pray we get the visas at the same time too! :D (And soon!)

    Spec,

I hope the AP goes quickly.!!!!! All the best to you and your family!!

  10. I received NOID saying that:

....under the provisions of section 101(a)(15)(K)....the petition....shall be approved only after satisfactory evidence is submitted by the petitioner to establish that the parties have previously met in person within 2 years before the date of filing the petition....

I met my fiance September 1 2007. I applied for 1-129F September 15 2009. So it's been 2 years and 14 days. I followed step by step all the process for K1 Visa. I submitted the following for evidence of meeting each other:

*copy of 1 of the airline ticket leaving Lebanon.

*copy of translated passport entering and leaving Lebanon.

We never took a picture of me and her together because I didn't know I needed it.

But I had 2 pictures from a party were me and her were present at that time: The first picture was me and her cousins. The second picture was her and the same cousins.

    Questions:

Do you think I got the NOID because it's been just over 2 years that I met her or I didn't have a solid proof of me seeing her?

Yes, a bit over 2 years, they will NOID it, I suggest you go and visit her again, take pics, keep all evidence of meeting, plane tickets, boarding passes, receipts, etc then start K1 process over again. Best wishes.

  11. Awesome Serena! :dancing: Sounds good. I hope you are booking a flight very soon :)

Hello all wonderful MENA ladies, I miss you all more then you know, but as you know of what happened, sometimes it was hard for me to come here to VJ.

SO...... wanted to update you all, Im fine, day by day, as ugly as this will sound, I count my blessings this has happened, a marriage does not work one only one of the couple is truly in love.

For me, Im healing, and believe it or not, Im happy. Starting to live again, even went out with friends a couple of times, and it felt good. Coming out of my thump as a good friend says, LOL. Even been asked out a few times, but I declined the invitations. You ladies on VJ have been a inspriration to me, and at many times my crutch, thank you all for all the kindness and warm PM's you have sent me. I wish you all a very happy holiday season and a very good 2010!!! Its been a rough year for all.

Much love to all of you's !!!!

    Happy Holidays!!!!

    Beth XOXOXO

  12. Well, i got an RFE. I screwed up and didnt send the court rubberstamped copy of my divorce decree. Well, the USCIS never updated my status telling me that I had an RFE. I am having all my mail go to my home where my friend is staying. I am deployed to Kuwait. He finally found the RFE and it says that I need to send that letter with. Well, I dont have access to the letter. I am hoping that my friend can scan a copy of the letter and e-mail it to me tomorrow so i can send it out in the mail and hopefully it will get there before xmas (my deadline according to the letter).

The last action i was showing last night online was 24 November. When i did another expedite request they sent me an email saying that there was an RFE on 1 december sent. I called the USCIS after that again and told them that I didnt ever receive it (i couldnt get ahold of my friend) so they checked to see if it was returned. They said it wasnt....Then they said they couldnt send another copy. I told them that if it got lost in the mail then it would have never been sent back. So the lady finally decided that she could send an e-mail to request another RFE letter. I got an email this morning also stating that my case was updated online with the RFE dated 1 december.

So, for those that have had an RFE, is it manditory that you send the letter back with the evidence? I am assuming it is. I am just going nuts here because now I will have to depend on the mail service to get the info there in time for xmas. I am at an APO location, so hopefully with me requesting another letter and getting my stuff postmarked from here they will give me a little extra time to submit the paper. Luckily I do have the stamped copy of the decree here with me.

I feel better now that i have vented some.

Sending back letter of RFE is just easier for them to I.D. your case, if you cant send back original, use a copy, BUT explain why your sending copy. Explain your military, etc, etc.etc. and if they cant understand that, well shame on them!!!!

Best wishes!!!! and thank you for serving our country!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. I just talked to Senators office. They said they do not get involved in recommendations to revoke. They said there is nothing they can do. I was advised that a lot of denials are starting to go through between Muslim men and American women. They also proceeded to tell me also that my husband probably used me for greencard. My husband now wants me to come live with him in Algeria. I would love to but my daughter is not allowed to live more than 50 miles away from her dad and I don't think I could ever give up my daughter and not see her. It would kill me too. I was told my case will go back to California and get put on the bottom of the stack. At that time that USCIS gets around to looking at it they will most likely side with the embassy and deny it. I guess after that I have heard that I have to wait another year before re-applying and starting the process all over again. My husband said he will wait for me his whole life. I am so depressed thinking it could be another 3 years though. I can't stop crying. Trying to keep hope but just keep getting more and more bad news. We did not even get a 221g which is what most denials gets. It was flat out recommend to revoke. That's it.

I'm so sorry April, this immigration process is a nightmare, we have no control over it in any form or fashion.

I dont have the words to comfort you, but if you just want someone at other end of phone, you know the number Dearest.
