  1. I have won many international events including World Youth and European Youth Championships. Also won US Grand Prix 2021 which means most tournaments won across US for that year.
  2. I submitted the paperwork for Green card right before the covid. During covid processing took a very long time and after I got the denial, I appealed it in the court. So the entire process took about 3-4 years and I just got the response from the court. I have a work authorization so I have worked multiple jobs, mainly chess related but also with my major as well as outside of the industry.
  3. That is exactly the case. I am an International Master and have actively been competing all my life. 10+ years of teaching experience.
  4. Not yet out of status, haven’t received an official denial from USCIS but I do expect it to come soon.
  5. Not yet, still waiting for the official denial from the Immigration but since court already sent their decision, I don’t expect it to take long.
  6. I realized I also have 1 year OPT from the student visa which I haven’t used after graduating because I immediately applied for the Green Card. Can I still use it now that my Student Visa is expired?
  7. Hi, I am looking for help in regards to my case and any advice would be highly appreciated. I originally entered US on a student visa in 2015. Since graduating in 2019-2020, I have been in the Green Card application process through E-B1(extraordinary ability) type visa. I play chess and I have won many tournaments (including Texas State Championship) so I thought that would be enough but USCIS denied my case due to not meeting enough criteria. I appealed in the federal court but court recently made the decision to also support Immigration’s side. I am expecting to get the official response in the nearest future. What would be some of my choices to legally stay in the country? Can I try O-1 if I find the employer? How likely is it to get accepted after recently being rejected from E-B1? What if I try going back to University for Masters? How would my status work in this regard because I know one needs to leave the country if they want to renew the student visa. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
