Great! After spending 6 weeks sitting on my butt waiting on the GC to appear I just found out I would need to pay the $165 fee beforE they start processing the card. I came back with my mother all the way from my vaca to get this darn card and just signed for 2 months apartment rent so we can be all together somewhere outside the US after we get her green card. Oh boy, then now it appeared to me that her SSC is still not mailed as we'll. I guess I would have to sign for a month extension for the apartment.
I will definitely go to SSO tomorrow with mom and get this all done. Anyone know what else to bring aside from her passport?
Also, I applied her I-131 re-entry permit last week.. How many weeks till they schedule for biometrics

on the checklist it doesnt say anything about sending the civil docs with the DS260. Should I send DS260 with the civil docs (again) anyway?

Hello. i dont know what is wrong but I have sent NVC DS230 with the civil docs. A month later, I received a checklist that I need to send them DS260 and I did. And just earlier this morning I received the same email and asking for another DS260... I think I am lost. It's been a year now since I sent my moms application

Hi ca_babe, did you send scanned copy of your birth certificate or certified true copy from NSO?
Your mom's marriage certificate is required since her name has changed after getting married. You can go to your civil registrar to have your birth certificate fixed with the correct date of marriage of your parents. They will then forward the corrected one to NSO. You should use the correct marriage date instead of the wrong one.

Hello All.
I am planning to file I-130 petition for my Mother this month. Upon reviewing all the information on my BirthCertificate I noticed that my Parents Date of Marriage is wrong (MAY 20, 1980). Their Marriage Certificate has the correct dating tho' (MAY 29, 1981). I am confused which date should I put on my I-130 application, I know Marriage Certificate is not needed for Petitioning Mother but I will petition my Father as well by next year. Please enlighten me.

I am prepping my moms I-130 application. I noticed that the date of her Marriage on my Birth Certificate is different on her Marriage Certificate which has the correct date. I know that Parents Marriage Certificate is not necessary for petitioning mother but I do not want this to be a problem later when I start petitioning my father after Mom gets here. Please help I do not know what to do. Should I use the wrong dating on my Birth Cert or use the correct date that my Parents has on the Marriage Cert and send a copy of it with my application?

I passed my naturalization interview today
My IO was nice. I was scheduled at 1230 but I was called for interview at 1245 and exactly 10 mins after my interview was done. I was surprised he only asked to see my Greencard, passports, and state ID even though I was asked on my interview letter to bring Hubby's passport, birth Cert, marriage contract and tax transcripts. I have other back up documents too since I was out of the country for straight 181 days.
Questions asked:
1. Longest river in the US?
2. When do we vote for President?
3. How many amendments does the constitution has?
4. We elect US representative for how many years?
5. The house of representative has how many voting members?
6. Who the President of the US?
Then he congratulated me that I passed and asked me if i have questions, I then asked him about the Oath Taking date and he said Nov 8. He gave me 2 papers that says Recommended for approval and Oath taking schedule.
IT WAS A PIECE OF CAKE! I thought it was hard. But thanks GOD im done for now.

It is 2:37 AM here right now and I cant sleep. I have my interview in few hours and i feel nervous.

When you get into your medical at St. Lukes you doctors there will not give you skin test. They will just run sputum and chest XRAY as long as your Xray and sputum tests is clear then you are good to go. If they see something on your Xray then they will want you to undergo medication that will lasts 6-8 months.
My XRAY result was clear. And I found out i was PPD skin test positive when I was already here in the states. I suggest you not to panic since you have the clear XRAY result.

Congrats to those that passed their interviews! I am having mine this coming Friday and I am so nervous since I am coming to my interview alone by myself
I guess i need some Moral support, anyone? Anyway, I am a bit confused about the Civic Q&A.. like Q37. What does judicial branch do? There are 4 answers, does it mean i have to recite 4 answers if this would be picked by my interviewer? -
Basing from her timeline, she's not even eligible to file for her mom since she is not USC yet.

If you will not be staying in the US for 2 years why will you petition for your mom now ? What will she do in the US by herself ? Anyway USCIS requires domicile of petitioner when the time comes that your mom will prepare documents before interview. It's better to petition her after you go back to US from Germany.
I actually want her to come with me and my husband to Germany. But I do not know if immigration will allow her to be out of the country for 6 months. If not, then she will return to US, stay for a little while then go back to Germany and stay for another 6 months again and so forth.

Hello. I want to file a petition for my Mom (Philippines) by December but my husband and I will leave the US by September to Germany for work related issues and doesn't have plan on coming back until after 2 years or so. By September, (Maybe) my moms application will be approved and I can stay a little while with my mom doing her paperworks here in the US. My questions are:
1. Can she come with us soon after her paperworks are done?
2. Would she need to comeback to US before 6 months after she leave with us? for how long she needs to stay until she can leave US again?
I am totally lost right now. I know I need to do more reading but I do not know where to start. I am confused if USCIS will give her the 2 years or 10 years green card once her I-485 get approved. I do not know if I should just wait after 2 years before i file her petition or not. Please enlighten me.

Hello. I got my interview letter today. I was asked to bring my spouse birth certificate which he no longer have or passport which he has with him in Afghanistan. I have photocopies of his passport tho. Do you think i should just bring them with me or ask hubby to mail his passport to me which i know a bad idea? any suggestion?

Finally got my Biometrics Appointment

Hello, I still havent gotten my appointment letter for Fingerprints and I am getting a bit worried. I checked my status at USCIS website and I still have the same message as before that they received my application and sent me a notice etc... I wonder if they change that "review" when they send the fingerprints appointment letter?

It look like Shashar and I havent gotten the Fingerprints appointment yet... Hmmm it sucks to wait but I really need to know when the appointment is so I can reserve a plane ticket for my Anniversary Vacation.

I am confused should I put YES for N-400 Part 7c question that my trip last 6 months or more.... I left the US 09/07/2011 my POA is GUAM and got there 03/07/2012 but my destination is CA which I got here 03/06/2012...

I checked moms Elis account and it says Card Produced! Yay! That means it gonna be mailed anytime soon, right?

few days ago I wish I have seen this thread before we flew here in the US and knew that there is this darn fee.. I'm just so happy right now that card will actually be mailed. YAY!
