The only real difference between K & CR Visas lately seems to be at NVC. K Visas just pass right through whereas CR Visas do the Affidavit of Support and DS-230 (Immigrant Visa Application) plus supporting documents and fees are submitted at NVC so if you get things right and are ready NVC will cost about a month.

The plus side is that CR Visa holders get their greencard ordered shortly after POE without the need to Adjust Status so you don't have that $1,010 expense.

I sent in the I-130 April 21, 2009, my wife & stepson landed in the US on Nov 25, 2009!

Sounds like the process is much shorter.. I did the K1 right when they made some changes which was suppose to speed things up..But they started the documentation verification (which I think they discontinued a couple months after Zandy finally got her visa) People were getting visa only after a couple months while other which had filed 6 months previous was still waiting... it was crazy.. But Zandy got her visa finally..

looks like I will have my buddy just do the CR and marry her on his visit..

I haven't kept up with it. but I remember someone trying to tell me that the petitioner has to make 2 trips to the Phils... was this just a rumor?

Hi Mossycouple.. Actually... when Zandy arrived here last year.. I had missed the chicken adobo so badly.. I put on 20 pounds the first 3 months hehehehe.. But I have lost it due to buying a treadmill as for looking younger.. Zandy tries to make me put on oil of olay at night But you filipinas automatically make your husbands look 10 years younger the first month after your arival So maybe you're correct....

How long is the complete process taking now from the i-129f to visa in hand?

Zandy was telling me that one of her filipina friends was telling her that you have to visit twice before filing.. I'm not sure if I want to believe that.. So I'll just ask.

All I can say is be patient and the visa will show up before you know it

Zandy had to do a Christmas acoss the word last night at out church.. Zandy and I worked the Philippines booth with our friends and missed the fight. I had a invite to a filipino friend to watch it on PPV.. I wished I could have seen it. Congrat to the Pacman!

My wife has a cousin in Manila that knew where to buy things.. I would always western union some cash to him and he would take care of flowers and candy even birthday cakes for me.. That way I could give him a little extra $$$$ for his time.

Gosh Guys... I can feel the frustration. I thought when Zandy and I went through the process early this year.. it was quite bad.. But it seems like the process has went to hell. (5 MONTHS AND NO NOA2?) WOW!..... I just pray that the USEM gets it together soon.

I don't think will have to wait 4 years. Mid terms in 2 years the Republicans will have it together.. and will make a dent in both the houses. Obama name will go down with the likes of Carter.. I voted for Bush twice.. and yes.. I know he made many mistakes.. But Obama... I am dreading what this country will look like in just a few years. I hope and pray things will be better and he will be given a fair chance. But from what I've seen. Carter Part II..

Yes... My wife didn't compute the cost when she turned them down But... they needs to be done. I have looked and I can't find a list of what she needs. I called the local health department and they do give quite a few.. but the lady told me I need to know which ones are required. Does anyone have the list of required vaccines
