ok i’m back again. going to officially start the process of sponsoring my mom to come to US from DR. I see mixed reviews of i130 and i130a. what is the i130a and is it necessary? Second thing is her current name is the exact same that’s on her passport, cedula and my birth certificate that shows she’s my mom. however she was married and since divorced for a time in between. does that affect things and when do i have to prove that? Lastly, for translations of documents what’s the best and easiest way to do that? Thanks!!!

Hello, I am just starting to think about bringing my mom to the US. I currently live in Florida and she will reside in New York when she arrives. Will this complicate things? do we have to be at the same address? I am also wondering where to even begin and how long it is looking for people. She is currently in Dominican Republic and has a valid visitor visa she comes to visit once a year. what is our first step? and how long can we expect to wait? thanks!

Hello, Is the k1 visa considered a non immigrant visa and exempt from registering for selective service. i never registered. i arrived january 2020 on k1 and was 25. I didn’t get my paperwork approved until november 2020 and by then i was 26. Will i be denied ? -

hello, i did not realize that the reading part of the test is not one of the 100 civics questions. What if I don’t know the answer to the question to write it. i feel confident about my writing abilities Injust worry I might not know the answer to the question to write it. Will i automatically fail ?

hello, if your n400 is approved , are you allowed to travel out of the country and reenter with expired green card and 48 month extension letter like usual before you have the oath ceremony ? Do they take the green card at the oath ceremony or upon approval?

Hello, my husband currently has his green card. He is awaiting his n400 interview. While he is a permanent resident can he apply for his mother to get her green card? Does it make a difference if he waits for his citizenship process to be over (for him or her). Also my mother in law has another son who is 16. can my husband apply for him as well so they can come together ?

Hello, I know you cannot travel for more than 180 days. Does anyone know if that is in a calendar year ? or From the time you received your green card? My husband has a pending N400 and since receiving his green card he has been on some trips and vacations and has been outside the country 85 days so far in total over the past 3 years. Is he allowed to keep traveling while the N400 is pending ?

Any updates on new interviews being set? Tracker says last updated 195 days ago and “case taking longer than expected.” I know it won’t necessarily do anything because i’m sure there’s some crazy system they have but has anyone reached out to some form of the government stating their case and seeing if it can get sped up?

any advice on if calling does anything at all? and a number to call? when doing the k1 we used to call all the time and get to a representative. not sure if the system has changed or if we are doing something wrong but can’t get through to a live person

thanks! i feel like we have been out of the loop for a while with USCIS and now the Citizenship i’m back to all the crazy waiting. It’s annoying because i know people who were finished in 5 months total and filed 2023. seems frustrating to just be stuck.
