  1. I am confused. I am moving to US from UK in June (EB2 NIW). I've read the article you shared and also the one on MSN.com link below. and noticed that specifically i765 and n400 was called out, but that i-485 (adj of status) would continue. So perhaps consular processing issued visas may still get automatic ssn? If it was across the board then why only name specific forms. Anyway that's my guess and hope. I also saw In other articles the same. I'm trying to find someone who recently arrived and their experience (on q similar visa) "With the suspension of the EBE program, individuals submitting forms such as the I-765 for work authorization or the N-400 for naturalization will need to appear in person at a Social Security Administration (SSA) office. This change could result in thousands of immigrants being unable to access benefits due to processing delays or lack of service availability. Only cases with approved I-485 forms will continue to be processed under the new guidelines." https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/social-security-doge-eliminates-ebe-and-immigrant-workers-could-lose-their-ssns/ar-AA1CD4QU
  2. Yeh. Got a text, passport and documents will be posted tomorrow morning (Friday 16th)
  3. Hi - my visa status is 'Issued' (on Monday) so it should be on its way. I'm told it take a few days. Will keep you posted.
  4. Thank you. No questions for her. She gave her oath and fingerprints then sat back down. That's all.
  5. Had my interview this morning, and was Approved. Appointment was 10:30. Got their 10:20. I went straight to level 1 and was seen pretty much 10:30. They took my documents and sat back down for 10 mins. Was called up again, and then: 1. Gave oath 2. Fingerprints 3. Questions: i - can you tell me about your professional background? ii - what is your highest level of education? iii - have you lived in any other country or held any other passport? 4. Officer concluded with 'i intend to approve your immigrant visa application, you'll receive your passport and sealed documents within a couple weeks'. It was probably a 7-10 min interview. It was mostly him typing stuff. I was out by 11:15.
  6. I agree with @DRO. My appointment was 9.30. Just been there half hour early , the embassy are aware of your medical. You should be able to wrap up and get to embassy before 2.
  7. I requested a patient summary from my GP. This is just a high level summary (one pager) of any medical history. Assuming you know you need to bring along your passport and police certificate. For document review at embassy you additionally need to bring original civil documents (birth certificate, marriage certificate etc) and one passport photo . Once you book a medical all of this will be fully explained in much more detail.
  8. @godson0452 to be safe I ordered a new one a few months back. Per appleblossom double check the london consulate specific requirements. Dont spend money if it isnt really required.
  9. Medical and Doc reveiw - How it went: Medical - took a couple hours, I am a family of 6 (wife and 4 kids), so assume this to be worse case (unless you have more kids than me.. lol). It was straight forward, chest x ray, nurse reviews vaccinations and a discussion with the doctor regarding medical history. Embassy document review - we left 11:50am and drove to embassy which took 30 mins (traffic). Parked up at Waitrose car park and a 5 min walk to embassy, so got there around 12:30ish. Once we made our way to the embassy we were given a number, an announcement for our number was called out and the booth we need to go to. They just review the passport, picture, police certificate, marriage certificate, birth certificate etc and then gave it back to me which I need to bring on the interview day (May 7th). Me and my wife's biometric was taken , fingerprints. They didn't ask any questions relating to my application, It was very straightforward, probably took around 45 mins (end to end) , we are a family of 6 bear in mind. I would say you should have enough time to get to embassy, this was my worry. I saw people from the medical getting there as I was leaving... so I would not worry too much. I was also given the same feedback by another person on this forum who has done the new process.
  10. Congrats! My medical and document review at the Embassy is tomorrow. The latter is a new process. Will let you know how it goes!
  11. For sure i will provide as much detail as I can remember!
  12. Sure, will keep you posted! Good luck
  13. @DRO @JWR Following that logic.. my PD of 12Jun23 became current in the April 25 Bulletin so I should get an IL by the end of this month?
  14. Does the CO question Principal (me) and dependant (Mrs.) Or just me? Thanks
  15. Thank you @appleblossom this is very helpful
  16. Yes I tick the box on the DS260 form. Who can I ask if it's ok to send to my rented PO box? Sorry I am new to this and have no idea.. So did you give your rental address at the interview and then change to the hotel on entry? Do you know if children are required to attend the interview in London? I have 4 kids under 10.. Thank you in advance!
  17. Is it possible to update address even after the consular interview? Also, how is the social security no provided and when? Thanks!
  18. Thanks this is v. helpful, I had no idea. I would have thought paying the green card fee is a requirement prior to leaving the UK. Updated my timeline as best I could.
  19. Pay what fee sorry? My DS260 I am.using a NY PO box i am renting monthly. But I doubt a Greencard can be posted to it.
  20. How did you know where to get your green card sent to? Did you rent a property in the US before your interview?
  21. Thanks Appleblossom The timeliness has so many questions, k mostly not applicable, do i answer only those relevant to me.
  22. Thanks. Is there a timescale, for example if I am current in the latest April25 bulletin do IL get sent before the next bulletin I.e. 4 weeks or is there no real pattern.
