  1. Hi all, The goal is to find a pathway to help my grandparents to come to the US. We have been waiting since February for I-134A Based on this discussion I-130 does not seem to be an option at this time We have two potential petitioners : - Me (Grandchild and a US citizen) - My mom (Daughter and Green card holder) My mom is currently working to become a US citizen but it will take time because English is a barrier for her. She will try to take advantage of the 55/15 rule but she still has a few years to go.
  2. I see. it seems that I overlooked something because there are various references to green card holders in the form Edit: After further reading, I learned that the petition for green card holder is only for certain people Thanks!
  3. Yes.My mother would be the one filling out the application. She holds a green card
  4. Hi all, would there be any benefit to filing an I-130 as opposed to waiting for the I-134A? I filled out an I-134A for various relatives in February with no luck so far, and to be honest, I am losing hope that it will be processed after the recent changes in the selection process that add a random selection process to 50% of the quota, plus the pending lawsuits and threats to cancel it. In any case, my mom's parents are the main people that we are trying to bring, and the I-130 offers some alternatives. From what I was able to gather online, this form is expensive BUT has an expected timeline (12-15 months) as opposed to the open-ended I-134A. My mom's parents are in their 70s if that changes anything. At the same time, I would like to avoid impacting the I-134A form if possible.
