  1. Nope - you (at the stage you just mentioned) need proof of having met in person (within the last 2 years) - not proof of an ongoing relationship.

i also send in a copy of my ticket stubs from my visit last year as well as copy of passport stamps...along with a few pictures that we took. will it enuf to prove i was there??

Yes. I take it by "ticket stubs" you mean "boarding passes". Yes, that's enough evidence of meeting. For the rest of the process, read carefully and interpret literally. Sounds like you accidently sent what you needed for "proof of meeting" while you were errantly focused on "proof of an ongoing relationship". They are not the same thing.

thanks alot. since i just sent the initial packet. wat is my next step? where can i dl the other forms?

and also i wanted to know if my first page of passport is enuf to establish that im citizen. i was born in pakistan so my birth cert. wont help. i became citizen thru parents.

  2. All the very best salman1. As the others said, USPS is a fine choice, especially when you send certified, to ensure delivery. Next thing to look for is an image of your canceled bank check (can't do with money orders) online if your bank offers that service. By examining the back of your canceled check, you can usually find a number. It will have 3 letters before it, which vary depending on whether you filed at the California or Vermont Service Center. Please do fill in the timeline information on this website by going to the Time line link at the top of this page.

    :time:

You can take that number from the back of the check and by going to wwww.uscis.gov you can register an online account and track your petition. Two things to look for online, "Date Updated" which is what several refer to as a 'touch.' This is when someone's petition has been moved, whether it's to box it up after it has been receieved, or to unbox it several months later, shortly before it is reviewed and accepted (this step is called NOA2). Touches sometimes occur, sometimes they never occur for folks, so they're not so reliable. Also you can see if your case is "Received and Pending" or "Approval notice sent" or "Request for additional information" (RFE), which usually indicates an error or something missing. No big deal, just send the things in and your case usually is done within a few weeks of their receiving it.

As others recommended you can keep busy by assembling further documents, such as your tax returns (3 years is a rule of thumb that varies by US Consulate. You can order free tax transcripts from irs.gov or calling) further proof of your relationship, which should include a lot from the time you send the petition until the time of your fiancée's interview. Include things like phone bills, letters, emails, and any proof of visiting each other again, like plane tickets, hotel receipts, etc.

Also in the meantime, enjoy our message board. We are a large family from around the entire world. We have loved ones on every continent (any in Antarctica?) who in some way or another, choose to live in America.

    Welcome!

    thanks! :)

  3. i sent 4 various t-mobile bills

    one from dec of 2007

    one from april 2008

    one from may 2008

    one from sept 2008

5 pictures of us together last year

4 screen caps of a msn conversation (with webcam on)

    will it be enough??

Enough for what. You have no timeline. None of this is needed with the petition but you should have more if it's for the interview.

i just send the I-129F in today....i dont have the timeline yet. are you saying i didnt need any of this yet?

Yes, that's what I'm saying. What you needed with the petition was primary evidence you met in person during the past two years. That would be things like boarding passes and passport stamps. Did you include those?

Your timeline is that you just sent the I-129F today.

yup...i could only find two of my airline stubs tho...from here to qatar and from qatar to pakistan.

one thing im wondering....i became citizen through my parents...so i sent copy of my passport. is the first page of my passport sufficient to prove im a citizen?

What might be enough for some Embassies/Consulates might not for another (or not even be necessary for yet another) - it'd help others to help you if you had information in your profile and an actual timeline. (Unless you really are filing for/from the country of "N/A" for an "N/A" visa.)

lol...im sending to vermont service center for I-129F....my fiancee is in Pakistan

  6. my second question today :help:

if u turn in the k1...and it gets rejected, can u file again rite away? or is there a wait period before u can file again?

I don't think they will ever reject a petition unless the have reason to believe its fraud.

no becuse earlier i asked wat if its been more than 2 yrs since i met my fiancee...so everyone said it will get rejected. so im wondering now just give it a try if i can try again rite after that
