For the CR1/IR1 visa the vaccines do need to be done prior to entering the US.

Funny enough, we did actually get those "no marriage found" documents from both my state and for her in Colombia as they were required when we married in Aruba. They kept the originals but we have scans and can get the same documents again if necessary, but I'm going to wait for the embassy to reply so we have an official answer on everything. They've actually been very responsive and helpful in the past.

No, we did not marry in the US. Since we needed to change our plans anyway and by then had learned about how problematic the AOS process for K1 was with needing to travel, etc, we got marred in Aruba and re-applied for CR1. I was hoping I had all this cleared up with the petition phase but I understand the embassy is also doing their due diligence on their end.

We had a long story - she did come to the US last year on a K1 visa but had to return home due to a death in the family, so we ended up getting married abroad and starting the process again for a CR1 visa. I wrote a cover letter explaining the situation when I filed the I-130, but maybe since the embassy sees here previous K1 they asume she got married on it? Either way it was the same beneficiary (me!).

My wife just got emails from the embassy regarding the upcoming appointments for she and her daughter. They appear to be auto-generated emails and state that the cases are incomplete, and are prompting that divorce records need to be uploaded for both she and I. However, neither of us had previously been married. She does have a child from a previous relationship who is immigrating with us, but she and her daughter's father were never married. Anyone know what's going on? I emailed the embassy asking for clarification, but thought I would ask here as well hoping for some peace of mind!

Thanks all for the advice! I realize the key here is that only the first dose is required. My fear was her not being able to complete the full vaccination series before the visa interview, but it sounds like that won't be an issue.

That's great to know! This sounds like the best plan - for her to get the vaccinations locally before the medical exam, then if in the worst case scenario anything is missing she can get them during the medical exam.

Makes sense, but has anybody had issues with their vaccinations being rejected because they weren't the right kind or must up to date, etc? That's one of the reasons I was thinking it may be best to stick with the embassy doctor, for total peace of mind even if they are more expensive.

My wife just got her interview appointment date in Bogota and is now scheduling the medical exams. Unfortunately other than COVID and Yellow Fever, she doesn't have any records of her childhood vaccinations. She believes she received them as a child, but never had a vaccination card. I'm understanding she'll need to receive them from the doctor completing the medical examination. Has anybody else been in this situation, and did it cause any delays? I'm concerned that with timelines of some vaccinations, boosters, etc, it may not be complete prior to her visa interview on September 3. I'm hoping that I'm worrying unnecessarily.

In case it helps anyone reading this, uploading the documents to Other Documents worked. My step-daughter was DQ'd today, and I didn't have to do anything else to let them know I had uploaded new documents.

Thanks for your response. Since the documents are now there and show submitted, do we need to do anything else to let them know they're uploaded, or will they automatically review them? That part of the process wasn't clear to me.

My wife recently submitted the DS-260 for herself and her daughter, and we uploaded all requested civil documents. We got notified this week that's my wife's application was documentarily complete, however my stepdaughter's file got messages asking for: 1) my wife and I's marriage certificate (we of course submitted this on her file and I don't remember it being mentioned it would be needed on her daughter's file, but could be my mistake, either way no big deal) 2) her birth certificate apparently wasn't complete or couldn't be read. My wife scanned the document again so it was more legible. My question is - I'm not sure if we submitted the new documents correctly since it wasn't very clear. On the documents tab it wouldn't let us change the birth certificate, so we uploaded both documents under "Optional Documents." Both are there and now say submitted. Was this the correct way to do it, or do we need to anything further? Thanks

My wife's application was just marked documentarily complete last week. She submitted the DS-260 on April 26 and received the DQ on May 7.

We got ours last month, 3 days after the I-130 approval.

I added my wife and step-daughter to my insurance right after we were married and had the window for a qualifying life event. My employer wasn't sure how to do it initially without an SSN but called our corporate HR and they were able to do it. They're still abroad as we're going through the process, but it gives me peace of mind to have them covered now, plus it was one more piece of evidence of relationship for the I-130.

My fiancée and I are getting married later this month and I'm preparing the forms beforehand so I have everything ready to send as soon as we receive the marriage certificate. I have a few questions about how my future wife should fill out form I-130A. -Maybe I'm missing it, but I don't see the option to fill out this one online. If I'm filing the I-130 online, do I then attach the I-130A in the Evidence section? -I understand that since my future spouse lives outside the United States she does not need to sign the form. However, of course we'll have the opportunity for her to do so at our wedding. Is it better if it does in fact have her signature? -One question asks "Last Physical Address Outside the United States of more than a year." She's lived at her current address less than a year, so does this mean the last place where she lived at least one year? She'll of course provide full address history for past 5 years in the supplementary section as instructed. -Is it ok for me to be the person listed as her interpreter, or do we need to have a 3rd party interpret? Thank you.

On the form for my fiancée's daughter, it has sections to upload "Child's birth certificate" and for "Proof of marriage to the child's mother." The next section is "Proof Of Legal Termination Of Parents' Prior Marriages." My fiancée was never married to her child's father, so we do just leave this blank, or do we need to provide any evidence to prove this? The next section is "Proof of stepparent/stepchild relationship, which again asks for the child's birth certificate, marriage certificate to the parent of the child, and proof of termination of prior marriages. I assume this section is just redundant, and we attach the exact same documents? Thank you for your help.

Thank you very much for your responses. That question on the I-130 is actually one I was wondering about, since it actually reads "Has anyone else ever filed a petition for the benificiary?" My thought was that the answer is NO, because I'm the same petitioner, and not someone ELSE. Then in Part 5 it asks if I've ever filed a petition for the same benificiary or someone else, where I would provide that information. Does that make sense?

My fiancée came to the US earlier this year on a K1 visa. Sadly, she experienced a death in the family shortly after arriving, and we made the difficult decision that it was the best thing for her to return to her country to support her extended family during the difficult time, and to start the immigration process over again. We are now planning to get married abroad next month and then file for CR1. Were we supposed to do anything to cancel the K1 process when she left the US? I tried to figure this out at the time but couldn't get any straight answer, and there was so much going on I didn't have much time to dedicate to it. I just want to ensure now that we take care of anything that could complicate re-applying for CR1. Thank you.

Thank you for all of the helpful advise. It definitely is a situation where tough decisions need to be made. In the end I'm hoping that everything turns out ok, however I'm just a person that likes to have as much information as possible to understand what the worst case scenario *could* look like. I'm doing my best to support my fiancée so she can make what she feels is the right decision.
