  1. Thanks to @OldUser we found the invite letter online and she's scheduled to interview on the 11th of August.
  2. Filed N-400 online in El Paso, TX on 3/3 and she just got the notification that her interview was scheduled on 7/8. Is there a way to find out for what date it was scheduled without the official letter with the interview appointment?
  3. Yes, it's a difficult system to navigate. I was on a J-1 once, so I remember the struggle. The "you can't leave once you file" statement only applies for AoS. The alternative is that you maintain the timeline you laid out in your original post but then you stay in the UK after visiting your family for Christmas and file for the GC through the consulate. That would prohibit you to reenter the US on a non-immigrant via like your J-1 as your GC application has now shown your intent to immigrate. I strongly suggest you heed the advice from the other folks who commented here and have your family visit you in the US for Christmas instead, if you cannot do the paperwork right now.
  4. My fiancee filed her N-400 online in El Paso, TX on 3/3. NOA arrived in the mail a few days later, biometrics are being reused. And now we have been waiting without any notice other than it says online all the documents they needed have been received and they are processing them. Her N-400 is based on 5 year residency, not marriage-based. Anyone else here in the same boat? Has anyone here who filed with the El Paso field office in March received their interview appointment? I went through my N-400 process many years ago and it took me just 2 months, so I am confused this is taking so long. TIA!
