  1. Hello there! I am a refugee, and currently trying to apply for FAFSA, being in California. The very first question in the form is: what is the date, when you became a legal resident? How can understand whether or not I am a resident? (I’ve been living in the U.S. for more than a year and I do have SSN) Should I just write the date, which happened after a year living in the U.S.?
  2. Hello there! I have come to the United States recently, and currently I am applying to the college. The college application process asked me for my A-Number, and for the issue and the expiration date of it. I marked the checkbox, states: "Check, if there is no expiration date" because, obviously, there is no an expiration date for the USCIS#, whether you are a refugee or a citizen. Anyways, I do have that number stated on the USCIS papers, however, the issue date is not stated anywhere clearly. So, my question is: if there is no a clear written issue date of the Alien-number, should I just take the date from the USCIS website, when the very first document which stated my A-number was sent to me by the Homeland Security Administration?
