  1. Josh mentioned on an earlier post how to check the shipment from NVC to Embassy... but I'm confused on the number...the number i got from that forum was 'EXP 26 NOV 2007A' and I don't know where you get that... I was thinking that was the case number but it's way different...so how do i find that number for mine? My case is CDJ 2008 ######...... sooo any tips? I"M SUPER PUMPED!

    (F)

Hopefully everybody had a great day! :P

The number will most likely be the day your papers ship to the embassy. So if yours shipped tomorrow, it would probably be EXP 29 JUL 2008A. You'll never know for sure if the shipment has your papers...but its a good estimate.

  2. Are you calling the NVC and doing it through the automated system to see if your application has been recieved? Or are you actually talking to someone at NVC?

I called and called and just did the automated thing to see if they had recieved anything and they said no. Then yesterday I called like 10 times in a row really fast got through, put on hold as I had to wait for the next available CS rep. and she told me that my case had been recieved 7/21, and shipped to Juarez, Mexico 7/22. I couldn't believe it because the automated voice thing was saying they hadn't recieved anything yet... I don't know if this will help but I just wanted to let you know my experience......

Our cases aren't filed in the automated system, you'll always need to talk to an operator and give them your case number from CSC or VSC.

  3. I called the NVC today and gave my case number and they actually had my case entered in their system and said that everything shipped to the embassy yesterday. I did find a DHL shipment sent to Costa Rica yesterday from them...so that could be it. We'll see....

 That was fast! How do you know about DHL shipments without a tracking number?

    Read this link --> http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=98172

It will show you how to track packages. No way of telling if it is yours for sure...but since there was only one package shipped to Costa Rica yesterday (when they said they shipped mine), I have a good feeling that is my package on its way over.

  4. Hi Good news about NVC getting their act together for you, how did you find out? We got our NOA2 on the 15th and I have been ringing the helpline at NVC twice daily since but when I enter the EAC number the automated system says they have no record of the case!! However we received a letter yesterday from NVC saying that they had received our petition were forwarding it to the London embassy 'within a week' so not quite sure what is going on there?

Anyway good luck to you and all other filers

The receipt number from NOA2 will not work with their automated system. You need to talk to an operator and give them that number. They'll ask for both your names and birthdays to verify your identity. Then they will give you the case number they assign at NVC and answer any other questions you have.

  5. I hope every one else is having a good time enjoying their approvals.. CAITYROSE! Yours is on its way!! I'm crossing my fingers for you! Are there any other marchies left?????????????????? It seems like they covered a BUNCh of them between last week and this week.

    (F)

    PS- I am such a rambler! :P

Yep, some Marchies left =(....hoping and praying I get a touch soon!!!

    Amy (L) David

    P.S what is NVC? lol

National Visa Center. Your paper work goes there after it gets approved at the VSC or CSC. Then it gets forwarded onto the consulate.

  6. Josh- have you tried calling the NVC recently? I think you mentioned earlier that they still havent received your packet. Could it be that you are doing the automated dialing rather than actually speaking to a person? Nich-nick mentioned earlier that it is better to actually ask SOMEONE about the case... :)

Yes, I actually talked to someone this morning and they hadn't received the case yet. I'm trying to call tonight, but I guess everyone else is trying to call tonight too...I either get a busy signal or bumped out of the hold queue. I might try calling again in an hour or just wait until tomorrow morning when I get to work.

  7. [it means they send it down to the mail room. The people approving your petition don't do the mailing. The variable is how long it takes to leave the mail room. Kim was explaining that they used to save up a giant pile before sending from CSC but lately they go pretty quickly. From California to New Hampshire (NVC) is across country, so it takes longer just to get there by courier or mail or however they send them. Vermont to New Hampshire could be one day. Have you called the NVC? If you want to read a detailed explanation I just wrote, look up the thread for March filers at the CSC.

Thanks for the reply. I did look at what you wrote in the other thread. I think that's good information, but it's nothing I haven't already read before. I understand that the adjudicators don't personally mail out the approved petition. Have I tried calling the NVC? Several times each day!

Interesting update to my case......I just had a phone call returned from the USCIS office in DC.

I was frustrated with my circumstances.......petition apparently not yet received by the NVC, so I called the USCIS Deputy Director's office. I ended up speaking with a Customer Assistance person in DC. She looked into my case, and this is what she told me. She said that she spoke with the CSC, and they assured her that my petition is already at the Moscow Consulate. Now, the NVC still claims to have no record of my petition going through. The last touch I had was on July 9 (NOA2 date). I don't have any MOS case number, so I don't know that inquiring at the Moscow Consulate would do any good. Has anyone ever heard of an approved petition getting to a consulate with no record of it going through the NVC? Should I put any stock into what this woman in Washington DC told me today?

How does the Moscow consulate work? Do they mail packet 3 out to the beneficiary? Not sure if this is possible...but have you tried emailing them to see if the case is there? Let them know the whole situation behind the case...perhaps if you provided last names and birthdays they can actually see if they have it there.

Its instances like yours that make me worry about this whole process. I really hope everything clears up for you soon.

  8. I got a another touch Friday (after NOA2) and I called NVC early this morning to see if my paperwork had gotten there, but they didn't have us in their system yet. Not sure how long it takes to get to NVC. Seems to vary. My files might not have even left CSC yet...could just have been filed with all the other ones destined to go to NVC and that's what caused the touch.

I just can't wait for the paperwork to be out of NVC and on the way to Costa Rica. This process is driving me crazy.

  9. Hey you all

Am still waiting for my passport with the Visa, everything is approved as you know but I dont have the documents yet  still being patient. Now I am planning everything about the wedding my question is I have 90 days since that my visa was approved or they are giving the 90 days when am in US.? pls am confused

90 days start after you enter the US with the visa.

  10. Jost and Nathalie, what have you gone through since you got your NOA2? Have you called anyone or received anymore letters or anything? I'm curious.

I got the NOA2 hard copy today. Other than that we haven't gotten anything else. I guess now we just wait for NVC to receive our paperwork...assign us a new case number..then foward everything on to the embassy. I guess this can take up to 4 weeks...but can be done in as little as a couple days. So we are playing the waiting game again. I was hoping that with all the approvals last week, the CSC would have enough approvals to send the whole batch over to NVC last week. I will probably start calling NVC on Wednesday or Thursday, depending on how much free time I have, and see if they have gotten our case yet.

  11. I hope everybody had a great week, and have a wonderful weekend. Caity, that's awesome that you are having some time to spend with your hunny. Josh and Nathalie, I am SOOO happy you guys got approved. Nicki, you too! I bet you are just ready to pop with excitement!!! How awesome is that!?

I told Jorge about that, becuase yours is 1 day before mine... but when I talk to him about this site he just gets angry/upset. It makes him pressured. i have to be quiet!! :bonk: Well you deserve that approval! :) Good luck on the rest of your process!! Keep in touch ok!

Why does Jorge feel pressured? Nathalie and I talked about Igor's list every night and I made her guess where we were on the list and she'd get all excited when she would hear we moved up a couple spots. Last night when I talked to her to tell her about the approval...I made her guess all the way from #136 to #1 then I told her we weren't on the list anymore because we were approved. It was really awesome to see her reaction on her webcam when I told her.

I'm still kinda shocked that we got approved so early, but totally happy that this part of the wait is over. More and more March filers are getting approved now...I'm keeping you all in my thoughts and hope you all get approved soon as well.

  12. Our I130 has been approved! We got the NOA2 in the mail yesterday, although the USCIS website still lists our case as pending. I guess I was wasting time by checking the website several times a day. I called NVC and they have issued a case number. One step closer! Good luck to everyone else.

  13. Got another touch today. Someone likes shuffling my file around...maybe they think my passport photo is cute. *shrugs*

Anyways, my princess was admitted to the hospital last night with a horrible migraine. She is out now...just really overtired. Doctor says she just might have migraines from time to time. Gave her a prescription for something...not sure what yet..I'll find out more tonight when I talk to her. Kinda frustrating to know that she was in the hospital and I didn't find out until today after work...not like I could have done much besides worry more at work...but still... :(

Other than that...not much new here. Approvals seemed to have slowed down a bit late this week. Hopefully we'll see some approvals before the weekend.

Hope everyone is having a good week and ready for the weekend.

YAY For you guys! I'm happy to hear that. You know that means they are working on your case and soon you will get your NOA2! How exciting! How is your fiance feeling? I bet she's all crazy-happy. I wonder if stevi has heard anything, or caity rose....

Anybody else who filed in March gotten a touch? Besides those approvals :P I'm so glad and relieved they've started on us. :) I called today and she said the same thing as always. I think they may pull up the same info from the same website; they just word it different. I asked her if there was someone else that may be able to give me a more detailed explaination of my case but she said no... :P I knew that answer.

    (F)

    Good luck 2 u.

I haven't told nathalie about the touches yet. No point on getting her hopes up. If we get a approved..then, obviously, I'll tell her. :)

  15. I just got off the phone with my hunny and he says I'm to paranoid...

I can't help it :crying: I should really stop logging on my computer  but it drives me coocoo knowing how far we have come. I mean we're at 114 on Igor's list...which isn't "real," but it sure shows a good estimate of where we are at. I'm hoping they bring more and more approvals; finishing up those late Febz working on Middle march soon. Phew... I need a vacation!!

    Anybody feel me?!

    (F) To you all

    Maria

I don't think you are paranoid...you feel like most of us here. We just want to be with the person we love and this "process" of the visa and waiting with pretty much no idea what is going on just sucks.

I just logged into the USCIS site and noticed I did get a touch on 07/16/2008. We'll see if anything comes from it. I'm pretty pessimistic of this whole process...I've seen others get touches and then not have anything happen to their case for like 2 months. I'll keep my fingers crossed, but not get my hopes up.
