  2. Thanks! Just received a letter saying they got my biometrics record and I don't have to fly over. yey
  3. Thank you little immigrant and Timona, I researched it further about biometrics appointment, it looks like ppl in the State where I live, I didn't find anyone getting a waiver... So hopefully USCIS will schedule mine after my trip... If it's schedued while I'm abroad, I may have to just fly over and walk-in before my trip....
  4. Mike E, Thank you I just found that line! I don't know why I didn't see it first... But anyways, thanks.
  5. Hello, I am filling out I-90 online . Question asks Whay are you applying for I-90? and it's simply because I need to renew my 10-year card. I thought I just simply select my answer as "I have a prior edition of the Alien Registration Card, or I am applying to replace my current Permanent Resident Card for a reason that is not specified above" (the last line). Because there is no line that says "renew a 10-year permanent resident card". But there is a line among these bullet answers which reads "My name or other biographic information has legally changed" , I just submitted a change of address online and is updated. Do I have to select this answer , or Can I simply select the last answer line since I have already submitted change of address?? Thank you!
  6. Hello, I am in a remote island of Hawaii State and about to apply for my 10-year GC application pretty soon. I am going outside the country for about 3 weeks from the end of Oct until Mid November. If I receive biometrics appointment during the time I am not here, I have to reschedule, but I KNOW it is so hard to try to talk to someone at USCIS over the phone. Is there a way to request a reschedule for biometrics ? I will have to fly over to Honolulu USCIS. Has someone tried walk-in for biometrics before the scheduled date recently? I've heard that even if I could talk to someone luckily on the phone, I still need to wait for about 30 days(or less or more??) until someone else calls me for rescheduling. Therefore, I may miss the appointment if I cannot get to talk to someone before my trip or I may miss the call for rescheduling during my trip abroad... So, I am hoping Honolulu USCIS office accepts someone like myself who has to buy a flight to go there just for the biometrics , a walk-in.
  7. Thank you Ontarkie. Oh, by the way, when I was filling out I-90 this morning, it didn't ask me anything about my husband. Regarding the biometrics, I hope they don't schedule me while I'm travelling... In case they did, is there anywhere I can apply for a schedule change request online? I've called USCIS in the past and they just don't answer... it's hard to get anyone. Then this morning, I tried calling them and they ask me for "a case number"....what is that?? I found some alien resident person who was writing about his 10-year GC renewal experience early this year on his blog, and he said he received the new GC within 2 weeks of applying for I-90 online. No biometrics. Can that happen?? It's such a hassle for me to go for biometrics where I live because I'm going to have to get a day-trip flight over to another island just for that purpose ....
  8. Thank you very much for your quick answer to my question! And thank you for your kind words both of you.
  9. Hi, My husband recently passed away. We've been married for over 10 years.(He has filed I-130 and approved long time ago) Since my first 10-year GC will expire in Jan 2024, I have to renew it. I thought I can just renew it with I-90 online, I was almost there,,, Then... I guess I need to send a notice of death of my husband to USCIS, but HOW DO I do this? A website by someone said to send a Notice of Spouse Petitioner's Death to USCIS... Do I have to first file Adjustment of Status or something?? I-485? If I need to file anything, Can I still apply for I-90 at the same time? since it'll be expired soon? Another thing is I am scheduled to go back to my home country from very end of October through November 21, which is why I'd like to apply for I-90 asap. I just found out that the government has revised that you can still use the expired GC for up to a year(?) Anyways, I'd much appreciated it if someone could let me know how I should go about this asap! Thank you!
