Our DV was sent to embassy. My question is, how long will it take till i get my visa?

Hi! Mine was sent back to the embassy last July 25, had my interview July 28 (DV) then got my visa last August 6

That's an insult to us Filipino Husband. We are blue collar worker...we are not lazy. I don't think she will say that..... Filipino men are more hard worker than white people. Been here in the US for 20 years........I haven't seen a single Pinoy standing in the middle of the street ...holding a carboard boxes that say's "WILL WORK FOR FOOD". Giving them opportunity...like here in the US.......I bet they will work their heart out, Working 2 jobs during weekdays... plus picking alluminun cans in the garbage on the weekend for extra cash. Company in philippines tend to hire more gals than guys..cuz' they are more presentable. Most skilled husband are working abroad or seaman. I bet they don't survey that.....a wife is a teacher and a husband is a farmer....I bet they did take a look at that. That survey is bull.......You can't just say FILIPINO HUSBAND ARE LAZY Just because you are married to a crack*er.....hell nooooo.....you gonna hear from them.......eww........stink.....I'm burn out.....can't wait for the weekend......nastyyyyyyyy.

I totally agree with you!!! Gals are hired more cuz they are more presentable hehehe. The survey for husbands who doesn't have jobs and have the wifey working for the fam most likely covers the class C or D of the society. So I don't think it has something to do with the metrosexual count, as i know that survey result may yield not only in the Philippines. Totally different issue! And about that FILIPINO HUSBANDS ARE LAZY??? come on you should think WAAAAY better than that...how could you come up with a generalization like that?! My future husband is by the way, a first Lieutenant in the U.S. army, a FILIPINO, at age 35 worked his way so hard just to be who he is now (whom i'm sooo very proud of)....did i mention that he's a war vet too??? So watch it dude!

After "THE CONVENTION" that caused the delay of my medical exam and the infamous "DOCUMENT VERIFICATION"......here it is....my VISA!!!! Yeeehaaa!!!! Hardly earned that's why it came to me THIS SWEET!!! It is because i've booked a flight already on August 22 and knowing that it's now here, I don't need to worry for another hassle of rescheduling my flight (thanks to the memoirs of document verification). I could have not gone this strong and far without reading all the forums here in our ever reliable portal Thanks to all of you and those who helped me along the way .....I'm coming home now...WOOOOHOOOO!!!!

hi everyone! thank you so much! now all i have to worry about is delbros. i paid it last july 11. i'm not sure if that would provide them enough time to deliver the visa swiftly. from what i've read, it can range from 3 days to 1 month for delbros to process document verification. wish me luck everyone! thank you so much!

hi! i just called and got thru....the lady said that it will take 2 weeks after they got the certificate from the NSO...Richard said they got mine last july 25, when was yours?

After the 8 weeks delay from SLEC, I finally got my interview last July 28th. My fiance was with me during my interview. I got pink slip ( thank you wizardfitz for giving me the tips to call the NSO, DELBROS and US Embassy to make sure if they have verified my papers )

On July 31st, I got my visa!!! :dance: I will be flying to US on August 16th at 7:45am NWA. My routing is Manila - Narita Japan - Portland - Tampa. Maybe I can get a companion by posting this hehehe.

Our lawyer told me to ask the immigration officers if they can stamp my visa for temporary work permit. He said it's a hit and miss thing and it wouldn't hurt to try. Is there anybody here who have tried doing it? My POE is Portland.

I'll take this opportunity also to thank everyone for all the help extended to us, VJ family especially wizardfitz(Mike and Maribel, for the tips), patientlywaiting(Maribeth and Randy for the chikahan blues), mysticjoyce(Sis Jocelyn, for giving me tips for my last visit to SLEC), sugar(for moral support), fitzee21(for the info), alizeyah(whom I accidentally met at the US embassy. Thanks for relaying to us "girls" all the info everytime you have finished the prescreening, consul interview hehehe) and to our lawyer (Eric T. Dean) He's there every step of the way and even called ST. Luke and emailed the consulate when St. Luke almost "stopped" me from getting my clearance.

I checked with Richard too and said that the liaison officer of the embassy picked up my record last friday... Does it take another week or so for the embassy to verify the certificate? I kept on calling the embassy but i just couldn't get thru their busy line....

June 25th: Resceduled for Psych exam.

July 1: Original Embassy interview date

July 2nd: See's Dr. for Physch exam. He asks for Medical certificate, was never mentioned before this. End of Exam.

July 9th: Rescheduled Psych exam. No Dr. due to emergency.

July 10th: Rescheduled Psych exam. Everything goes well. Says results in 2-3 days.

July 14th-18th: Dr. at convention.

July 21st: Request results. Told to return on July 23rd. to see Dr. again.

I am about to explode but I know there is nothing to be gained.

At last i got approved!!! I called early this morning, still with no result(the guy told me to call tomorrow, heck no, tagal na kaya) then i tried calling in the afternoon persistently, then there, Clark (window G) finally told me that I passed the psyche exam and be prepared to go to SLEC for my vaccines. So without having second thoughts, i rushed to SLEC with my mom I gave my receipt and waited for 4 hungering hours, then at long last my name was called!!! Had my vaccines taken then they rescheduled my interview to July 28 (SONA day)

Suzette is so nice too, she's so transparent and i enjoyed talking to her we laugh as we share our experiences!!! she's so funny too I'm asking her to stay here at our house maybe on Sunday so we can go together on Monday for our interview, since our house is near the embassy and my mom can take us there. My fiance's a Filipino too, he moved to Michigan but now stays in Las Vegas and is now working under National Guard Nevada.

Suzy will stay in Malate so we just planned on meeting around 530 for breakfast before our (yipee!!!) interview Suzy like I said is a very transparent person so it was really so easy to be nice to her hehehe.

It's just going to be another day before our interview so keep on praying

Thanks for being so nice too. I admire your patience given Suzy's case...took her soooo long to finally reach this point. You're also lucky to have met someone like Suzy...she's so honest, witty and a very good person. (i can say that even if we've talked for just half an hour hehehe)

Wow, it seems like your fiance and I have the same case here...But how come she needs to see the doctor again? I just called yesterday and checked for the results but still with no luck, the doctor hasn't given any result yet and was told to call early Wednesday and if so I passed then i can have my vaccine that day too so I can have a July 28 interview at the embassy. We really need to be patient...It's a virtue really hehehehe

My psych exam is on July 24. I was just wondering if I would have to postpone my interview on August 4. The lady at the counter said, "no". But she also said that the results will come out 2-3 business days after July 24, so that makes it July 29 - 4 business days before my visa interview. That's cutting it too close and I'm worried my medical results might not make it to the embassy in time for my interview. WHat do you guys think?

EVERYTHING IS GONNA BE ALL RIGHT!!!

Just a quick note: The SLEC will be the one who will reschedule your interview, just in case your result got delayed like another convention comes up hehehehe so you don't need to call the embassy for another schedule or notify them that you won't be coming anymore and that it has been moved.

sorry for being a scatterbrain. i don't think i made it clear. i won't be getting the result tomorrow. i'd be coming back tomorrow to get the results of my physical exam and to get further information about when i'll be having my psych exam. the doctor who attended to me was the one who conducted my physical, not the psych exam. =) heheh.

I'm talking to someone, courtesy of bevs, who went through the same thing. I'm gonna try to stop worrying about it for now. I hope there's no reason for them to conclude that I'm mentally unstable, considering that I've been productive and have never been in trouble. *sigh* No matter how hard I try to keep a positive outlook, I still can't help but feel a bit scared! After all, my future with the love of my life is on the line. Please pray for me guys!

Hi daisychain I underwent a psyche test too just last Friday, it was short and simple. I don't think it will be a ground for a visa denial coz she said "as long as you won't do it again, it won't be an issue"...but i didn't do it and she would insist and no way will i confess something i didn't do. So there after my physical exam, i went to clark (window G) and he told me to come back early in the morning (around 8 am, 4 days after) and pay for 1000 pesos. After the payment, wait for your name to be called (Psychiatry Evaluation is located on the secret floor hehehe 6th floor) hmmmm i remember the maintenance guy assisted me to go to that floor with a mop hehehehe baka raw may gawin akong masama e So there I'm sure you've read my post and learned what caused the delay Good luck and just be yourself.
