Hello all I have a question about processing times. So I did the I-130 last year in November and I haven’t heard anything yet. I looked on the receipt that I received when I paid for it and it showed that it was in Texas. I’m assuming this is the center that’s processing the I-130, how long does it take for an approval from the processing center that’s in Texas?

Divorce help
Underscore U.S.A replied to Underscore U.S.A's topic in Effects of Major Family Changes on Immigration Benefits
Hello I’m currently in Mississippi -
So hello everyone, after posting in this group and learning so much things have gone to a bad turn. Things aren’t going well at all and we both are considering a divorce. So here is the run down, she has never been in the United States and we had gotten Married in October (7months)of last year in Nigeria. I already filed the I-130 and still waiting. Regarding the divorce, how do I seek a divorce from my wife so she doesn’t retain my last name. I could just leave but I do not think that’s the right thing to do. Is it possible for me to file for a divorce without having to return to Nigeria? And I was reading about the 2 year rule of divorce in Nigeria and I was wondering if that applied to me since I’m not a resident of Nigeria? I need help please!!!!

Inviting my wife
Underscore U.S.A replied to Underscore U.S.A's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
I mean anyway I can bring her here as a visitor until the process is done. I’ve heard that it can take a while. -
I don’t have any credit cards in the US to add her to. I even tried to add her to my bank account, but they told me that since she was not physically there that they could not add her to my account. And I don’t file taxes, but I do receive VA benefits and before I leave Nigeria, I was trying to ensure that I did not have to have it, so I was just submit a supporting documentation along with the nearest certificate and the other witnesses for the affidavit, etc..

Is it mandatory that my wife and I share finances? I ask because I was told that I had to either show joint ownership such as a bank account or something to that extent. I’ve been trying to open a joint account in Nigeria but they told me that I have to have a bvn number I’m having a difficult time trying to get it. If I make the 125% poverty rate is that enough?

Thank you so much and I have another question for you! So one of the requirements says that I have to give a copy of my tax transcripts from the IRS for the last three years. So I’m getting married in October and I plan to come back to the states in November and file. Do you think it’s a good idea if I wait until January 2024 to file since I only started getting my benefits 2022 for example I would have to provide 2023,2022,2021 But I only received them 2023 2022?
