It was a breeze. I must admit that my wife (now) is exceptionally well spoken, does not get nervous, and had already travelled and worked abroad. And, although she didn't live there at the time of the interview, she grew up in Manila, so she is very familiar with the area. I made sure she had all documents they could possibly ask for. They did not ask for the I-134. They did, however, take and KEEP my certified divorce decree, which was a bit of a surprise. I emailed her a copy to print for CFO, just in case they wanted to see it. Tell Jaycel to take whatever "study sheet" she has with her, so she can review it while waiting to be called. But she also needs to be listening for her name to be called. The questions were pretty basic. Where do I live, my age, what's my birthday, have I ever been married before, etc. No really hard questions.

They were referring to the original signature, meaning do not sign it with an electronic signature. Once it is personally signed by hand, copies are fine, as you originally stated. Manila almost never asks for the I-134 anyway.

June 2024 AOS Filers
J.M. replied to Gary Rich's topic in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
Received access code today. Biometrics appointment scheduled for 8/19/24. -
The K1-FTP letter is from NVC. It is an email attachment. It is sent to whatever email address NVC has on file for your case when it is sent to the embassy. I used the online scheduler.

For Manila, you will not hear anything from the embassy. It appears you have done everything correctly to this point. IV is not 4, it is Immigrant Visa. That is not really a link that you are clicking. It just shows the place and type of visa applied for. St. Lukes will possibly allow her to complete the medical exam without an interview appointment, but she will need to sign a waiver acknowledging that her K-1 visa expiration date will be 6 months from her medical exam, no matter how long it takes to schedule an interview. There is no guarantee she will be allowed to complete her medical, but in the past, it was allowed if the waiver was signed. It would be nice to have the K1-FTP letter, but the DS-160 confirmation page might be enough. There is nothing to do, other than continue to look for available interview appointments.

June 2024 AOS Filers
J.M. replied to Gary Rich's topic in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
I'll give it a week. I already know what's online... stuff I sent them and stuff they sent me. No rush. Nothing will change in a week. Dallas can be quick to schedule biometrics, but usually it's a month after receipt so I've got time. If I don't get it in a week, I'll request it. -

Same issue as the previous 2 posts... cannot enter correct NOA dates for AOS and EAD. File date 2024/06/07. NOA date 2024/08/01. Site tells me dates are incorrect. -

Received receipt notice by text today. -
That is correct. As long as the culture remains negative, they will not contact her until approximately 8 weeks after sputum collection. If it is positive, they will contact her sooner, which of course you don't want to happen. We went through this years ago. I don't remember how contact was made, but I think it was a phone call. I remember how disappointed we were to get flagged. Good luck to you.

I'm no doctor by any means, but "cavitary lesions" are apparently sufficient evidence of PTB, so I would guess that is why they started treatment immediately.

The wording of your post makes it sound like your ex has primary custody of the children, so it would not seem like a hardship to miss a couple of weeks of visitation if that is the case. And no, she cannot legally prevent you from seeing your own children or take you to court for going on a vacation. The custody/visitation rights should be clearly defined in the divorce paperwork.

Question for booking K-1 Interview in Manila, Philippines
J.M. replied to Edward and Jaycel's topic in Philippines
It can take a couple of days before the receipt number is validated and accepted on UStraveldocs. The 4 hour claim is not accurate. One of the receipt numbers should be valid. The bottom "receipt number" that the bank printed after our deposit matched the original number, so I'm not sure why yours doesn't, unless maybe the original one was already expired, but I wouldn't think the bank would generate a new one. Another member here sent the deposit receipt to his fiancée, but she printed a new one with a different number.- 17 replies

Some of the misinformation comes from Pet Relocators. They like to scare you into using their services. I know what you quoted was from an Expat forum, but I bet they got it from a Pet Relocator. You are probably correct- they threw in the cost of the flight.
-
Latest fee chart I could find (2023): memorandum-circular-no-22-consolidated-schedule-of-fees-and-charges-for-the-services-rendered-by-the-nvqsd-2023.pdf (bai.gov.ph) Import permit for cats = 100php Quarantine Inspection Fee = 250php It is nearly impossible to find this kind of information. I brought 2 dogs here from the Philippines. There was more paperwork for them than for my fiancée!

Can you provide a source for that information? I have never heard of any fees (other than 100-250php documents). is this something new?

June 2024 AOS Filers
J.M. replied to Gary Rich's topic in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
Glad to see some movement with June filers. Still nothing for me, even though mine was sent a couple of weeks before yours. No reason to expect USCIS to start doing things in order now though. They have already proven that they do whatever they want, whenever they want. -
Question for booking K-1 Interview in Manila, Philippines
J.M. replied to Edward and Jaycel's topic in Philippines
She will take a printout of the deposit receipt to the local bank. They will print her receipt on the reverse side. Just be sure the deposit receipt date is current. They are only valid for a few days (maybe a week) because of exchange rate fluctuations.- 17 replies

Create Account and DS-160 Now That I Have A NVC Number?
J.M. replied to widude's topic in Philippines
Specifically for the Philippines: 1st is definitely filling out the DS-160. You can do that right away. It is valid for 1 year after submission so no worries about it expiring. You cannot search for interview dates until you have submitted and paid for the DS-160. You will "start an application" the first time. After that, you or your fiancée can "retrieve an application" to continue working on it. If you fail to log in to the application for 30 days, you might have to start over. The only communication you will get from the embassy is an email that they received your petition and that you can schedule your interview. You might not even get that email. Once you are at "ready" status there is nothing to wait for at all. -
June 2024 AOS Filers
J.M. replied to Gary Rich's topic in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
I sent mine June 7 to the Dallas office. Historically, Dallas super-fast at processing AOS, but in June they seem to have bogged down. No receipt notice yet. In May, it took only a few days to get receipt notice. I hope that doesn't mean the whole AOS process will be slowed down also. -
VJ member stats show booked appointments for Manila on these days: 1 on 7/23, 1 on 8/6, 4 on 8/13, and 1 on 8/27. Just keep checking. One will show up.

Questions related to NVC
J.M. replied to Timothy V's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
I chat with a few that are going through interviews right now. There were a few weeks when nobody could get an interview, but it seems to be back to normal now. Expect 2-4 weeks to obtain an interview appointment, with the interview itself being 2-4 weeks after you find one. Decide now how much lead time you need for medical and travel so that when you do see an interview date, you can grab it instead of trying to figure it out then. The slots fill up fast.
