Hi everyone,
I'm new to this site, and looking to learn from your experiences with the POE process; this part of the immigration process stresses me out the most, since the CBP officer has the power deny entry even if my fiancé has an approved K1. This would obviously cause a ton of problems, since my fiancé will have ended his lease in his home country and sold his vehicle prior to moving to the U.S.
General Info:
POE: JFK
Visa Type: K1
Fiancé Nationality: Hungarian
English Ability: Fluent
Relationship Length: 4.5 Years
Visits Together: 6 (since 2019)
Questions:
1. Will being in a same-sex relationship cause CBP to give us a harder time?
2. Does it reduce the likelihood of problems if I enter the POE with my fiancé? Or would it be better for me to wait to pick him up at baggage claim? I am willing to fly into the U.S. with him if it makes a positive difference.
3. If entering together, what line should we go in; the USC line or the Immigrant line?
4. Do you have any other advice on making the POE process go smoothly?
Thanks for your advice everyone!
